And if you watch the beginning of Broly Second Coming, there was an extra Saiyan pod on the planet that the comet destroyed. the reason goku killed broly so easy was because broly clearly underestimated how strong goku became after absorbing vegeta (a full blooded saiyan's) energy and goku punched broly in his weak spot where he was surposed to be executed as a baby. if you watch the full movie you'll see how broly was ordered to be killed by king vegeta and was stabbed in the stomach where goku punched.

The legend never said anything about different kinds of super saiyans or being born super saiyan.
