As I was talking to him over the phone the other night, sounds from mortal bomb could be heard (maybe coming from adjacent town ). We dont know if this would intensify as peace talks failed again for the nth time.Anyway, thank you "tanfoglio610" for sharing your thought and past experience with the JOMI. Im sure you are also blessed-Thanks
i was also a seminarian of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, i did came from the Juiorate of the Oblates, back then the situation in cotabato city was a bit more unstable than today. i tell you, the changes that your son is going to experience will mould him to be a better person to face his uncertain future. Your will have a different view and perspective in life whether he finishes or decide to leave the religious life. Be proud of your son. I am proud of him. my fellow jomi.
Bless also you Fr. alejandro,Initially our concern is the peace condition in that part of Southern Philippines where armed bandit control the area.Maybe you have heard all the beheadings by the other "group" yet our son Rafael choose the OMI congregation wherein they are the "Specialist in the Hardest Missions".
Rafael and the rest of 'our' Junior Oblate Seminarians will be in my personal prayers. I am Fr. Alejandro Roque, OMI from Miami, Florida and now that I have discovered your site I will subscribe to it to see the progress of your son. I am the only 'Cuban born OMI' in the world but part of the U.S. Province. I am also pastor of a very large Parish and School near Miami, Florida - called Miramar, Florida. My blessings to you in Jesus and Mary!
