  • Pronounced "zits", someone probably has beat me to it though

  • r2d2 says, "platz"

  • what about Raus??

  • @MrSpemat That is slang for go outside

  • All my dogs are trained in German, and i just got a bloodhound, so naturally she is learning German too. Is there a command for "Search" or "Find" or something? I want to scent train her, and i need the command word.

  • @AZZCLOWN1022 "Such" is the search command

  • @familydobes Thank you for this video! You have done a superb job at training your Doberman. Way to go. Take care.

  • Thank You for posting the verbal commands in audio. People that have not had to use the commands find it hard to pronounce these commands correctly.

  • Those commands are a little different than the real German pronunciation.

    Fuss=foot

    Attack=angriff

    Come (here)=kommem

    Laydown=legen

    Watch/get them= Bekommen  sie

    Stop/stay=anschlag

    Good=gut (gute)

    Wait=warten

  • @2KARGARAGE Actually if you train German Dog sport, you will find those commands given are the ones actually used, though many Americans substitute "Packen" for the bite command which German speaking people generally do not.

  • @2KARGARAGE

    No conjugation of the verb Kommen (to come) has an m at the end (a misstype im sure) Neither would any German person use the formal Bekommen Sie with a dog, Pass auf meaning watch out or pay attention is much more commonly used with dog training. Nor would they use legen being an action verb to lay or angriff seeing that the use of words with seperable prefixes like angriff are rarely used as imperatives. This video shows dog training and it uses what german dog trainers use ;)

  • @2KARGARAGE someone wasn't paying attention to the imperative lessons in their German class...

  • Just so you know, you spelled a command wrongly. It is "Hier" with the i first. Im not attempting to be rude :)

  • @BlutigenFehler Das Stimmt! I did not compile the video, and the funny thing is it went all these years without being noticed I am a little embarassed...

  • i have two boxers that just turned a year old, male and female and i wanna teach them the german commands for attack aler, bite and out mainly for protection but my questions are 1) is it too late to do so and 2) how do i begin training them

  • @mrrabyt08 Never too late but you need to begin with a great mentor and coach that has already been through it.

  • @familydobes it's never too late for the RIGHT dog. ur dog needs 2 have the right nerves for protection work. Boxers don't typically excel in the protection ring, they aren't known 4 strong nerves, prey and working drive at all. Training a dog with no/weak nerves is an episode for disaster. u can cause a fear biter if u work your dog in defensive drive if he doesn't have the nerves for protection training! be careful about what advice u hand out to a novice looking into PP training.

  • @CaneCorsoLuvr Hence my advice on having a good mentor and coach.

    German bred boxers and some from the UK still do very well at protection, but the average American bred Boxer is a lot harder to bring along...

  • i first taught my dog english and when he got them with hand signals i took the signals out then i started saying german words with the hand signals and then took the hand signals out so he knows german and english

  • @doglover091 Hey I just got an 8 week old German Shepherd would you recommend using hand signals or is it better to just do commands by voice?

  • @bj22488 i would do both for the first month or even more so he can understand it then slowly take the hand signals away and do voice commands and i dont train with treats if they have a high ball drive so the stay fit and they wont always excpect food

  • lol I teach my pet dog english commands like sit and what not but when I get pissed or if she doesn't listen to me I yell in german. It's kind of weird but I can yell Aus! and she'll leave whatever room she's in in a hurry. I don't know if you'd call that training exactly... lol. anyways How would you say "Go Inside!" or just "Inside!" in german?

  • hey , another question... how do you recomend me to teach my pit bull puppy the german commands... how can i train him.... what is the best way...

    thanks for your help

  • If i've been training my Rotti in English would they still know German??

  • @JMHoodSTAR Dogs only know what we teach them. They can respond to commands in many languages if that is what you teach them

  • @familydobes

    yes, i agree. its all in what they have been taught. right now iam training my dog english and german. people think iam crazy, but iam going to teach her as many languages as possible. so far she has had NO confusion whatsoever over the words

  • @JMHoodSTAR the dog just responds to the sound, you can change if you teach them. teach them anything, teach them in klingon if you want.

  • @JMHoodSTAR that's probably one of the stupidest questions i've ever seen on youtube. You actually think that a dog knows these languages? wow

  • one question.... if i teach my pitbull the commands of bite (fass) or the alert (pass auf) would my pit get agresive towards other people?...

  • @honorax123 That depends on the character of your dog as well as the quality of the training.

  • incredible training

  • cool!

  • how do you train them to "pass auf"?

  • I love this video, thanks!

  • Ok, 1) Hier is written thusly in German, not "heir" 2) Why in German? I train my dog in German, english and French depending upon the command and the intent. Since my wife does Dummy work, the Dummy commands are in English. we live in german-speaking Switzerland so some are German, some Swiss German. SOme in French to differentiate between for example platz and down (couch). And we do not do Schützenhund. dog Dancing and Dummy. ;-))

  • You know i rescued my dog and noticed when we go places if she hears a command that she would respond to them.. so I started the german commands.. and she acts like she knows them.. so im wondering if she was trained before with them. Smart girl every day I try to challenge her . Thanks for posting the video it helped me learn the commands!

  • it sounds like she may have been trained in german if she is responding to the commands:)

  • Can someone give me a tip on foos (heel)? and walking in general? My dog seems to stay pretty well behaved when walking, but to keep him at my side I have to pull him back quite a bit......but thats not cool because the whole idea is to get him not to pull. What do I do??

  • when he gets out in front of you turn and go in the opposite direction. keep him guessing till he gets it.

  • @DoomCreeper2 what i did was i kept a ball at my side and said foos and when he was at my side he got his ball or if he/she doesnt have a high ball drive i would use food

  • You seem pretty good at this, and you're dog listens to you very well. I am wishing to properly raise/train my dog and would love ANY tips on how to get him to listen to me as well as you're dog listens to you (My dog is only 10 weeks old currently)

  • Have a good relationship withthe dog, keep the training fun and motivational

  • hahahah ive been teaching some of these commands to my rottie and he heard this video laid down and sat hahahahaha

  • how long did it take for you to teach the dog all these commands?

  • That dog was 2 when the vdeo was made. With the right dog they could learn all of that in 3 months if you ork hard.

  • Hmm...I have a 1 1/2 year old german shepard, well...I have 2 actually a boy and a girl, brother and sister, how long do you think itll take for them to learn defensive/aggresive, sit/stand/stay/follow commands?

  • Wow that's a loaded question! It depends on how good you and the trainer you work with are, and how much natural courage and ability the dogs have. Some can never learn it, some learn quickly. The rest fall in between :)

  • Thanks so much man

  • great thanks or danke

    i gave german shepherd

    5 stars

  • pass auf...scary

  • OH COOL!!! THANK!!

  • Meh, a dog should be quite when told to pas auf. It is only watching or waiting for a possible apprehension.

  • wow this is great.

    I want to train a dobe.

  • Have not heard of it....

  • if a big dog came at me like that i'd take out my knife lol ;). If someone told thier dog to attack you, could you tell it to stay, or lie down or something to make it stop?

  • Knife wouldn't work against this dog, he would grab the arm that had the weapon. As far as commanding someone elses dog, it depends on the level of traiing the dog had, some are really good at listeneing to just one handler.

  • cool! 5/5 cool takedown

  • a knife? HAHAHAHAHAHA!! and if i saw you stabbing or trying to i should say since dobermans are strong and you'd never want one coming after you...Id take out my gun.

  • yea but guns run out of bullets, machetes dont

  • how long did it take you train him? you did a really good job

  • No one uses the stay command in sport. The position is an implied stay.

  • Naturally but a dog trained for someones home still requires a stay command and Bleib is the command to stay.

  • Zit-ts, bl-eye-p,. ich wie es nicht

  • Warum nicht? Auch man sagt nicht bl-eye-p auf English mand sagt "blibe"

  • Steve has beautiful dogs, he's a master at training and is now in Scottsdale, AZ in a wonderful new facility. I am looking forward to meeting him, the family and his wonderfully trained Dobermans. What beautiful creatures. Thanks for what you do, Steve. Those ofus battling deranged stalkers can feel safer now because of you!

  • Thank you Tommy, you are a great friend, and we can't wait to have you feeling safer.

  • I was wondering if I was saying it right guess I am...cool. Beautiful dobe too

  • great vid and great german!
