  • Do the cranberries come out sweet or bitter?

  • Year german vanilla sugar !! Who alse come from german ?

PS: Sry for my english i can´t speak so good english and i´m young yet .

    :)

  • Julia, what rem cheese did u use? it"s Migros brand Budget, but how is it called in German ..the cream cheese?

  • I love your recipe, but here's a suggestion: instead of water, use orange juice and reduce the sugar. It is absolutely amazing!

  • I love cranberries. I think I will try this next holiday season! Thanks for sharing this.

  • i tried this recipe, and the cream cheese broke my mixer :(

  • I tried this out and i ended up putting very cheap brandy in it and the finished product had an overwhealming alcohol scent, it looked beautiful tasted awful. Next time I would try it minus the alcohol you seem to be using high grade liquer though.

  • You dont know what I went through to make this cheesecake! Lol but it turned out great when I tasted some of it. I can't wait until tomorrow so i can put the sauce on the pie & show off. Lol Brandy is optional. I never made cheesecake w/it before but hey, learn something new to try. I also decided to use premade graham cracker crust instead of crushing the graham crackers. I put more sugar in the cranberries too & pure cranberry juice since I didn't have liquer. I like it sweet.thank you! :-)

  • Just got the ingredients and trying this for tomorrow's Christmas dinner (: Hope it turns out well!

  • Hey Misschievous, I just made this cake today and I gotta say, IT WAS A BIG FREAKIN! HIT! It was the first time I ever baked anything by myself and it turned out really great. So I just wanted to say thank-you for uploading the video, I'll be making this cake again when my Brother in law comes for dinner next week!

  • what is cornstarch?

  • mmm this looks good. Thanks for sharing the recipe :-)

  • Can't wait to try this with my family for xmas! Looks beautiful and delicious, and doesn't seem hard to prepare. Keep these recipes coming!

  • If you can get vanilla beans and I think it's vodka, you can easily make your own vanilla extract.

  • This was the best and easy cheesecake! I LOVED IT!!!

  • Oh also if you have a round measuring cup you can use that to press down the crust.

  • you should put the cookies in a plastic bag and then use the rolling pin so then you have no mess!!

  • I love your cooking tutorials!!!!!!

  • that's interesting that you don't have vanilla extract, we even have dried vanilla fruits. but good recipe, definitely gonna try it out :)

  • Back in cooking class we always baked the cheesecake a little longer but on a lower heat and put the springform pan in a larger dish filled with water. You just make a little boat made of foil so the water doesnt get into the springform pan. Cheesecake stays nice and moist every single time. I dont really like cheesecake but my inlaws do so I'm gonna make this for Xmas!

  • where do you live that you don't have some of the products?

  • @MakeupHairFashionful Scandinavia.

  • Looks amazing.

  • is the brandy optional? cause i'm allergic eith alcohol stuffs.,. :P

  • sooooooo yummy !!!

  • What's the name of this cheese from Migros that you have used?! Thank you. B.

  • Hay i got a n easier way to smash the cookies...Put them in a Zip lock bag then use the rolling pin over it. :)

  • tried this weekend it was AMAZING! i just put in there chocolate biscuits instead of the butter vanilla ones and used strawberries and blackberries :)

  • Girl, just put those suckers in a ziplock bag and smack them with a rolling pin ;)

  • next time you want to crumble cookies, put them all in a clear plastic back (the ones to use to frezze stuff down in) and smash the cookies with a meat tenderizer , much easyer :)

    - xoxo Julia <3

  • @LolaRamonaFan personally rolling right over them quickly seems easier and less messy for some reason when i use your methods i get holes in the bag lol

  • @LolaRamonaFan I use that method too when cooking but I think with a roling pin you get finer crumbs and its not so bitsy. :)

  • Looks really good!

  • seems so delicious!definitely gonna try it!

  • It would be much smarter to place the crackers in a ziplock bag and then crush them with a small rolling pin or something :) It's not messy at all!

  • The crackers you wanted to use for cheese cake are called Graham Crackers, they are brown in color, they dont have them there? I wouldnt be able to live without my vanilla extract lol In the US its in almost all desert recipes.

  • It is not only beautiful cake, but it also looks very delicious. I will try it

  • deliciousness, dying to try it <3

  • I made this the other day. Although I couldn't find cranberries, so I used blueberries. This recipe makes a LOT of filling. I used a ready made graham shell from the store, and I ended up having to freeze some filling because I had lots left over after filling the crust to the rim! Delish.

  • I think you were thinking of a Graham Cracker Crust

  • hahah best line of the entire video "Which I don't...so this is a pain in the ass for me to make..."

  • Ugh, you're SO lucky! I would KILL for an Electrolux(?sp) oven! =( lol

  • yea, here in states the crust is already made (thank god)

  • it was so fun watching this! it look delicious!

  • Comment removed

  • could i do this with strawberries instead of cranberries ? c:

  • Thank you for sharing so many wonderful recipes with us Julia:) I once messaged you on twitter about the chocolate mint cookies I tried baking but my account is locked and it took me a while to figure out you wouldn't be able to see my tweet. HA brilliant. I hope you still read this super long comment though. HAPPY HOLIDAYYS

  • OOOMG this looks so delicious <3

  • It looks so delicious !

  • how do you spell the thing u put after the sugar when it is already melted?, so i could find it in my lenguaje :)

    Thank u!

  • awesome video julia! the cake looks fabulous! just a tip though, when you bake, it's a good idea to crack your eggs in a separate bowl and then transfer them into your batter because you never know when you're gonna get a rotten egg =S it doesn't seem like it would ever happen, but trust me, it does! it looks so yummy!!!

  • Who eat all that thins that you make? but its very great i like you :)

  • i miss the stoves in germany!!

  • had to share this with my mom, it looks so good!!

  • Looks so yummy! --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • I am not a cheesecake fan at all but this looks SO yummy! Too bad my exams end two days before christmas and we're going out of town this year so I won't have time to make this, but hopefully I can do it for new years!

  • i did this cake yesterday (for todays 1st advent) and it was sooo brilliant!! i did the crust with chocolate cookies cause i couldnt find anything else haha and i smashed the cranberries (frozen ones couldnt find fresh ones =(( ) so they werent so sour and bitter. it was such a nice cake even my dad loved it and normaly he dont likes cheesecakes haha. very nice recipe thx for sharing with us

  • Like if you like the batter more than the cake.... guilty!!!!!

  • @FiaFranzon I love cake batter:)

  • Can you stoage this in the freezer?

  • ich werde ihn heute nachmachen, allerdings mit quark. hier gibt es kein philadelphia ohne salz und ich hatte das schonmal, dass der kuchen dann komisch schmeckt. ist deiner ohne salz?

  • so you don't need the cooking chocolate if you use chocolate wafers (like oreo), right?

  • if you put the cookies in a plastic bag and then roll over it its easy as well :)

  • my family jacked up that cheesecake! thatnks for the recipe

  • Could I just use digestives here in the uk? Someone answer please because I'm making it tomorrow for my mums bday...and is it alright to leave out the corn starch or whatever because I don't have and and seems a bit of a waste to buy some only for 1 1/2 teaspoons:/

  • Do you have any suggestion for substituting the cranberries with other fruit? Which ones would suit best? Thanks! :)

  • @ijaschumacher I was considering trying this with pomegranate instead...we'll see how it turns out lol

  • @ijaschumacher I couldn't find cranberries so I used strawberries. It came out really good.

  • Wauw! - thanks for this lovely recipe.

I'm totally gonna make this cheesecake at home :-)

And thanks for telling us the measurements in grams and celcius also.... it means a lot to us europeans watching.

  • @akvavitten haha! woop woop!

  • I'll adapt this for low carb (cheesecake is a staple low-carb dessert). It looks great.

  • Hi! I'm from Spain, Barcelona and I love all your videos, the tutorial makeup and the recipes!

  • can you eat this cake warm?

  • what do you substitute for vanilla extract? The vanilla sugar in every recipe? I feel like nearly every baking recipe here in the US calls for vanilla extract - it's such an amazing flavor.

  • You are amazing!

  • You can put the biscuits in a zip-lock bag and then bash it with the rolling pin. :) It'd be easier that way.

  • This looks so yummy. I have to make it.

  • Would it be a bad idea if I don't use the orange grated??? I don't really like the taste of it :/

    Somedoby???

  • @AranzaMtz It is fine to leave out the orange peel. It would be plain cheesecake. Still delicious.

  • @sjbethke Oh, ok. Perfect. TNX (:

  • I don't like cheese cake, but that looks delicious. Now I'm hungry ):

  • that looks so yummy

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • I am definitely making this. I just need...a mixer and a cheesecake pan.

  • ..btw did anyone else notice that huge tub of cream cheese...*slobbering on keyboard..*...We don't have anything like that here...not that i know of..

  • Look at you..filling the spoon right up with brandy...as would I...No doubt off camera...adding another...No jk..lol..

by the time anyone was done my cranberry cheesecake...they'd be slurring their words pretty good..;p

  • Excellent...lol@.....that was funny with the roller..I half expected you to pull out the hammer looking utensil..with spikes on it...can't think of the name..and just start bashing them...hah...

  • MOUTH WATERING SERIOUSLY. Might make it for Christmas xx

  • Hey! I made this yesterday and it was a hit. The filling flavor reminded me of the orange Creamsicle =). I also squeezed a little of the orange juice for more flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

  • I want your kitchen. Mine is rediculously small and poorly planned

  • to easily and quickly crumble cookies, place them all in a large plastic bag and roll your rolling pin over them:)

  • I just ADORE your cooking videos!!! <3

  • it is weird that the one thing that stood out to me is the fact you have white eggs lol

  • Looks very yummy, lovely recipe :)

  • aren't digestive biscuits the right cookies to use if you can't find proper graham crackers?

  • yum-yum!

  • if you chuck all the biscuits in a teatowel (clean) and then bash the crap out of it with the rolling pin it's fun and get's it done quickly :D this look AMAZING and i will definatly be doing this for christmas!

  • @Misschievious

Omg!This came very well and its making me want cheesecake :v

  • Looks very nice!!! But what store did you find the cranberries?? I am in Geneva and was not able to find cranberries any where - Migro, Coop, the Manor super market or Globus...

  • @SILzimb In a Migros 3M

  • Julia, you are a Godsend! LOL. I just made a homemade cheese cake for Thanksgiving (today) and I burnt the crust a smidge, but just enough for me, a perfectionist when it comes to my cooking, to taste a bit of bitterness. Anywho, I NEED to redeem myself and so I am going to make your cheesecake! Thanks for this, I REALLY love your recipes! Please keep them coming! =-) Happy Holidays!!!!

  • made this for thanksgiving! TOTAL SUCCESS!!

  • Yay for cheesecake! I baked my own version a week ago with yummie apple filling. :)

Nice video! Subbed to your other channel, too.

    Greetings from Hungary :)

  • I LOVE when you have cooking videos!

  • the cookie-crumble technique? GE.NI.US.

  • you can put your cheesecake (when it's in the cake tin) into another cake tin and fill that empty cake tin with water, the steam from the water bath will prevent the cheesecake from cracking :) great recipe.

  • nice video make more cooking videos :)

  • This is perfect, thanks!

  • Yummy recipe !! You can use your blender to grind the cookies.

  • omgg... christmas cheesecake.. i love this.. cant wait.

  • I also do my crumbs by hand, I find it easiest to put them into a plastic bread bag and roll over it with a rolling pin then :)

  • wow ur amazing!! im def going to try this for christmas!

  • I made this today for Thanksgiving! Everyone loved it =] thanks for the recipe!

  • This cheesecake looks so amazing!

  • You are my hero. I don't have a food processor either, and I had to crumble oreos up by hand last time, and it was a nightmare. Thank you for that.

  • viel zu sauer^^

  • great video! loved it! looks tasty! i just got one question... why do you measure everything by american measurements and then convert? i think everything here is so americanized, would be great to get some hands up for europe sometimes! :D

  • that looks soooooo yummy :o

  • looks amazing great recipie

  • Do you think i could use orange instead of cranberries (which are impossible to find fresh in my country) ?

  • Comment removed

  • Hi! What's that gorgeous dark red nailpolish in the beginning of the video? xxx

  • beautiful hands u have !!!

  • u need a food processor!! haha .. i don't have one either .. but its on my xmas list!

  • Speichelfluss .... ))))

  • Oh my God!! I have to cook this. I´m really fond of recipe videos, but yours have something special. I think it´s because I´ve get used to your make up explanations... yeah!, you put glamour on it! I´m going to susbscribe.

  • @miserveunnick it's not embarassing! italy has the best food in the world, americans don't really know much about quality food, lol. cranberries are a very sour fruit, so much so that they always need tons of sugar in order to be consumed. they're not all that special. honestly hahah :D

  • @uleexxx Don't make assumptions about America and their quality food, if you want quality food in America, you have to go there, but most people are busy, busy, busy, and they go for fast food instead. Kinda sad. Clearly you've never been to the south and had one of our steaks. You need a good homemade Southern meal. But Italy has some spectacular food. There's this one gelato shop in Florence by the Santa Maria del Fiore...my God. When I go there again, I'm hiding there and never coming out.

  • @VengerNoFear I've watched Man vs Food, there's some quality American food on there. And even if the quality is a little less than Europe you sure get quantity which you don't get in Europe. I like it all. I do like in some cases the idea of quantity with decent quality (although not royal), and I also like the glamourous little high-class portions you can get in Europe. Each has it's own little cultural quirks.

  • @jeneshisugakuto Man vs Food is probably not the best way to seek out information on that subject. But we do have much more on our plates than we need in America. Portion control is completely out of hand. I mean, just ten years ago, I remember a small cup at McDonalds was just that, a small cup. Now it looks like a large. Quite ridiculous, and it's not just fast food. I really liked the portion servings in Europe, because you could eat a few things off the menu if you couldn't decide. Italia <3

  • cool technique girlfriend :D

  • Yummy! I have to try this! Thank you.

  • I love how you pronounce spoon.

  • Looks delish! I'll definately have to try this :)

  • I'm not a cook, but I am going to give this a try! It looks too delicious to pass up. Danka!

  • Julia I think you're refering to graham crackers right?

  • You can alternatively just throw the cookies in a Ziploc bag ,seal it and then smash it with a rolling pin :). Just a trick I saw on Nigella Lawson.

  • I'm making this tonight. Thanks for sharing. It look so good.

  • I love your channel
