  • wait, so you can put this program on a windows phone or an android phone? I have an android and want to boot windows

  • I am in the process of doing the conversion. What a lot of the video's on You Tube neglect to mention is that it take a few hours so make sure your device is plugged into power.

  • At my cellphone, it says that there is a Error with a key! WHICH KEY??? PLease ANSWER!! :))

  • My DATA doesn't work on Android, does anyone have an idea what the EDVO setings for Sprint are? I can't live a minute without my data plan :(

  • can I put windows mobile on my lg optimus s and dual boot?

  • What resolution is the HTC Touch Pro 2?

    QVGA

    VGA

    WQVGA

    WVGA

    ??

  • @SoufTuts

    WVGA = Wide VGA 800×480

  • How to download android?

  • could this work for other android phones?

  • I would ask, how I dual boot to start and what should I download for it

  • for whatever the reason the haret file doesnt work on my phone

  • @MrArmagedd0n you said that the build had 3G but since you turned on the phone both in windows mobile and android I thought i saw E which is for EDGE I could be wrong since its so small but I want to know if that's a problem it has

  • @ccdsatt 3G works fine. I shot the video in my basement, were I get really crappy service, hence the Edge network showing on the phone.

  • im confused, so you have to run a file before you get the app? can you like run through that for me?

  • @RIssaAnn905

In order to boot into Android you have to manually click are the Haret.exe file on your SD card, or use the application Gen. Y DualBoot to boot into Android.

  • Ai biliviu

  • @MrArmagedd0n

    I have a couple questions.

    1. Can you do an updated one, I want to do this but dont exactly know how.

    2. Is it the Marketplace all the Android users are bragging about or WinMo version?

    3. Will it always ask you which to use --- WinMo or Android-- everytime you power up or go automatically to Android?

4.Will it void my contract if I have Sprint and do this?

    Last Question... i promise

    5. Do you still use WInMo for daily use or switched to Android or just got a new phone?

  • @ShookBritt

I would be happy to do an updated video, but I sold my Touch Pro 2 a few months ago and got a Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S), so I am now rolling Android.

The Market is the Android Market, you can have it automatically boot to the which ever OS you prefer, or manually choose at start up.

It accesses the Android OS files on your SD card, so it shouldn't void your warranty (but that is just my opinion).

    Head here:

    forum(DOT)xda-developers(DOT)com/showthread(DOT)php?t=627997

  • @MrArmagedd0n should i get .cab or .rar?

  • @ShookBritt

The .cab file makes things easier. Donwload it then install the .cab, and it will put all the files you will need in the correct location.

  • @MrArmagedd0n how do i put these on there? do it from the phone?

  • I really like the speed of your phone when it was running WinMo. My TP2 is slow compared to yours is it because of my ROM? Does ROM dictate speed in my phone? also I used to have dual booting too but deleted it does dual booting cause lag in your phone while your are running WinMo?

  • @masterdude787

Custom ROMs are the way to go. Much faster with WinMo, and the Custom ROM I use with my Android device is faster than stock as well. Having the Android dual boot on your WinMo device will not slow down your WinMo OS at all. It up the first link in the video description for more info on one of the better TP2 custom ROMs. Have fun.

  • Will the android market work through wifi?

  • can i run windows mobile on android?

  • was slow because all the widgets

  • whats the link for the andriod download

  • @AndrewSquires01

    forum.xda-developers(DOT)com/showthread(DOT)php?t=627997

  • @MrArmagedd0n hello master, i would like to know if i can install a android ROM on my htc touch pro 2? would it works better with it rather than with windows mobile 6.5??? i have a energy manila version but i felt it does not work well sometimes gets frozen. any good tutorial? ty a lot

  • @xmahana86

I haven't tested the most recent builds of Android on the TP2 since I sold my TP2 and now use a new Android device (Samsung Galaxy S), but I have heard the new Android port for the TP2 is better than ever. Give it a shot and see for yourself. Just follow the links in the video description. Have fun.

  • @MrArmagedd0n is it possible to get android ROM in my htc tp2 (t-mobile) i have an energy manila version but i feel this does not work very wet at all? is better android that wm 6.5 energy?

  • Wifi and bluetooth work now... no idea why this is coming up in youtube. Everything works 100 percent now and it really isn't a boot screen it's just a kind of an icon that makes it easier to choose to continue with Windows Mobile or to go to Andraoid.

  • @TruthInjector

At the time this video was posted (9 months ago), WiFi and Bluetooth didn't work. I have no doubt they have it working now, but I haven't played with it since I sold my Touch Pro 2 and went to Android with a Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S).

Maybe I should of called it an "OS Picker" instead of a boot screen, but I thought it was a good description for it since it loads before Windows Mobile fully boots up.

  • @MrArmagedd0n Yes, it just makes it easier than clicking the two files to start up the Android system-- but it is exactly the same thing. I love Windows Mobile for most things also love to switch over to Android when I feel like it and yes all android features work fully on Windows Mobile phones including Wifi and Bluetooth. I have also gotten a variation of Linux working on my HD2. I canceled TMobile due to having the worst customer service in the world (D- rating at Better business bureau.)

  • @TruthInjector so you can go to the andriod store with your windows mobile now with wi fi? :D *htc touch pro 2*

  • @ddwat Yes android market works on phones by default.

  • Comment removed

  • I have the same phone as you do the HTC touch pro 2 and it dos not seem to work... I followed the direction in the link and I got little progress... It would be nice if you could give me a step by step in numerical or on what I am suppose to do

  • apparently google isint an actual webpage xD

  • Does your wifi work on yours just instaled on mine and No wifi just wondering what I did wrong.

  • @felixwe622

Back when I had this phone a few months ago, the WiFi worked fine while using Android. It seemed the only things that were not working at the time were Bluetooth and GPS.

I use a Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) Android device now, so I haven't checked on the status of the Android to WinMo port in a while. Maybe they have more features working now?

  • I didn't know that Dane Cook did phone Reviews : ) lolz

  • my batter runs out really fast, and only charges up to 75% and it dies in like 4 hours, any advice?

  • @Slayer63072 Is Google navigation working on Android? Music, Wifi work? What model is your cell ph? Can I make Sprint TP2 working?

  • @Slayer63072 Hi, What model is your cell phone? Is Google navigation working on Android? Can I make my Sprint HTC TP2 working with energy rom? Thanks, in advance.

  • is windows mobile the only one that doesn't have an animated boot !? =>| i'm tired of the old orange windows logo boot screen just plain dead... HTC HD2 would be a great phone on android

  • @Conpa18Dani

Search XDA Developers. There are plenty of animated boot screens..

  • can it run flash!

  • if you put android on windows mobile, will windows mobiles features all still work, such as the bluetooth and wifi, will they work on windowsmobile, but not android?

  • @DaCarter744

The installation of Android on a WinMo phone does NOT effect the operation of Windows Mobile at all.

  • but... can you put windows mobile on android?

  • im not getting sound any suggestions?

  • Will this work on the HTC Diamond?

  • @SuPAIFLYxSODMG

Look at the second link in the Video Description. From there you can find it for your device.

  • do i download all the links it has or wutever?

  • Hey where did you got that rom of wm6.5.3?

  • @SHAGGYSPAGECHANNEL

Look for "EnergyRoms" on XDA-Developers. NRGZ28 makes them available for many devices.

  • @MrArmagedd0n Great Thanks.

  • any update on the rom? is it more functional now with Android running on it?

  • @siscopiso

    @siscopiso

I don't have my Touch Pro 2 anymore, so I haven't been keeping up on it. A quick check at the following link:

forum (DOT) xda-developers (DOT) com (/) showthread (DOT) php?t=627997

shows that they are now using Android 2.2 (Froyo) and there have been some good speed increases in the ROM. Looks like the following are still not working:

    - BlueTooth

    - Sound (in call mic and earpiece work, no ringtones or music)

    - Camera

  • @MrArmagedd0n thanks for the updates man! good video btw

  • @siscopiso As of right now, its very functional and even stable enough for daily use.

  • Dual Boot - HTC Toch PRO II - Android e Windows Mobile. Muito Interessante.

  • hey what does mount failed mean?

  • i have a samsung mobile and it is having samsung proprietry os......plz help me i want to change it to android ..so plzzz any help will be appreciated..

  • @ashish1099

This specific port of android will only work on certain HTC Windows Mobile devices.

  • Do you think I could boot it on a samsung phone? Known as the omnia

  • would this work on a htc touch 2

  • @MacTVFUN

I don't think they have an XDAndroid port for the Touch 2, but give XDA-Developers a look/search to check for sure.

  • @MrArmagedd0n Dual Boot Android & Windows Mobile - HTC Touch Pro 2 is he talking about the my touch or the Touch Pro 2?

  • @Uin20 Hello do U hv this on ur phone an how well does it work?

  • @Uin20

  • Hi MrArmagedd0n, I have a question about the dual boot. Can this work on a Sprint Touch Pro 2 that is using a Rogers (GSM) Sim?

  • i only have one question about this.... will it blend?

  • @IrippinZ

Lol. That it will, but I will not be testing that theory since I am selling my Touch Pro 2. Bought a Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) last week, and blending the Touch Pro 2 would make it a bit difficult to sell.

  • Would this work on Sprint?

  • @emo25052

This version will not as Sprint is CDMA, but check XDA-Developers, they may have it working for your device by now.

  • I am getting ready to try this on a T-Mobile Tap.. wondering what my results will be, because as far as I can tell, it IS a Windows OS in the phone.

Any idea on how I can make the Tap read .cab files? It doesn't support them as it sits, and I cannot find any info online.

  • Can u upgrade the android or the windows mobile ?? when u have both the android and the windows mobile...

like lets say the new windws mobile come out can u upgrade it. or the new andoid comes out can u upgrade that???

  • i have the android 2.1 os installed on my htc tp2 for verizon, and i installed the duol boot too but for some reason it always says that android is missing when i get to the duol boot screen and i have to launch android 2.1 from windows. and solutions from anyone???

  • will this also work for HTC Touch 2?

  • will this work on the us cellular version of the touch pro 2

  • @daweirdkid33

This specific version of XDAndroid will only work with a GSM phone, and US Cellular is a CDMA network. Try checking out XDA-Developers to see if there is a port for CDMA phones.

  • will this work on an us cellular version of the htc touch pro 2

  • how much space do u need 2 download the android software???

  • @92elg2010

You install it to your storage card, and once uncompressed, I think it takes up around 180MB.

  • will this work on HTC HD2

  • @MrGHTomato

The last I heard it does not work on the HD2, but check XDA-Developers for updates. I know there are some talented individuals working on a port for the HD2.

  • you wouldnt mind doinga video showing how to install it, like were to go and how to install it on the phone, i cant seem to get the file correct

also will it work on tmobile? im not sure if its a CDMA phone or GSM..

    please help!

  • do the apps work i mean cant you install apps?

  • Can I install this on Nokia 5800?

  • is it possible that the htc hd2 can be also ran on android operating system? if so how do i go about it?

  • Well i want this thing running on FUZE ...is it possible

  • @SuperKwelGuy Yes the Fuze will work this XDAndroid. Check the link in the video info.

  • Will it work on a LG Incite?

  • @rocklover3300

I don't know. To my knowledge this only works on select HTC devices. Sorry.

  • @rocklover3300

I don't think this will work on Non-HTC phones ATM.

  • I have an HD2. Which one do I use? Rhodium , Topaz , Blackstone?

  • @aaliyab The internal name for the HD2 is the "Leo". That is what you need to look for. Last time I checked, Android is not working on the HD2, but maybe things have progressed since then. Good luck.

  • HD2 FTW - waiting on Android!!!!

  • android is working but there is no calls or wifi or bluetooth what do i do

  • @elbeshlawi2007

Not sure what the problem is there. I can make calls just fine, and with the newest build, WiFi works as well. Make sure you are using the newest build of XDAndroid. The link can be found at the bottom of the video description.

  • can dis work on a htc hd2

  • @nbaballer2k7

Not yet, but they are working on it.

  • So in the month an a half since this video have they fixed any of the issues you said ? Now you say its not good for everyday use though, Phone Web Email and I assume text work. What would make it not usable for everyday use?

    Is it Android 2.0 ?

  • In the [03/08/10] build of XDAndroid.

    NOT WORKING IN THIS BUILD:

    Bluetooth

Sound (calls work fine, but no ringtones or music)

    GPS

Everything else works fine. The lack of ringtones and bluetooth is why I wouldn't use it as my main OS yet. They get closer with every release. Give it time.

  • I've heard about a fix, but I haven't had time to try it. Basically, I think you have to make a call before loading Haret, and then supposedly the sound will work fine. I read it on one of the threads devoted to XDandroid, but can't remember where.

  • I have a couple questions:

    1) Is it possible to have the Sense UI or TouchFlo3d in Android too?

    2) Is this still the latest working version, or do you recommend something more recent?

    Thanks

  • The new link I posted in the video description section is a newer build that what I was using in this video.

You may be able to use HTC Sense, as it comes pre-installed on many HTC Android phones, but I don't know where you would get the files to do so.

  • For everyone asking about booting to Android with other Windows Mobile devices, check out the second link I just posted in the video info.

  • @MrArmagedd0n What up ....u see at 1:47 i having problem my say on the botton on the orange line that is loading say missing androit wat think im doing wrong ?????

  • @MrArmagedd0n android i mean

  • in captions at 5:11 it says "you can pan around the attack against American"

  • I hope to use android rom in HTC HD2,,How many processed it by developers?

    ? reply request :)

  • I don't think it is working yet for he HD2. Check XDA-Developers for more info its progress.

  • does this work on htc touch 2?

    thanks in advance

becuase i can get it to load but it says that android is missing on the daul boot screen any help? :)

  • Haret.exe which is needed to run Android on any WinMo device does not yet work properly on the Touch2. Sorry.

  • @MrArmagedd0n oh ok do you know how long it will be until it does work?

  • No idea. I am not involved in the development, just an end user.

  • @MrArmagedd0n kk thank you anyway, you should make more videos like this

  • I got HTC Mega few days back...this is the best news I heard today :D

    Thanks...

  • is anyone working on the DX900 breakout? that could actually save that phone...

  • Do u have or know where i can find a good Sprint/CDMA version. I tryed this version but my radio did not work so im guessing this was only for GSM right ?

  • This is only GSM. For a CDMA version search XDA-Developers. They have Android forums now so that should make it a bit easier to find the info you are looking for.

  • nice video but the question is once android is intalled in 2 the tp2 will the tp2 have the ability 2 download multiple videos back2back and at the same time,my bro downloaded mutiple youtube vids and movies at 1 time!

  • does this work for the t-mobile htc touch pro 2? i just bought mine,, and i wanna do a dual boot. =] sounds amazing. respond soon!

  • This should work fine on any GSM Touch Pro 2. Have fun.

  • that android boot screen animation is trippy as hell ..lol ..my boy has the g1 for t mobile and thinks its better than tp2 for vzw ..lol ..i tried to tell him i could run his ui on my phone ..lol..

  • Quick question, you showed us how to turn off the windows mobile or restart the device, what about if you want to reboot from android, do you have a special program, or turning if off and back on is enough? Assuming that what happens, would you still see the boot menu? Thanks for the great demo!

  • lol, mabye if you had a few less wigits it would be faster. lol

  • def very cool

i hope you'll be able to dual boot wm7 and android 2.0+

  • Is it possible to use this on HVGA screen?

  • WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN U SAY TO "INSTALL THE CAB FILE..." I DOWNLOADED THE FILE FROM RAPIDSHARE.. DO I JUST MOVE THE WHOLE FILE TO ROOT DIRECTORY?? OR DO I EXTRACT? thx

  • Comment removed

  • @ MrArmagedd0n question

how about if u make factory reset

it will come back to the original OS?

and i download file called "XDANDROID.24.01.10.7z" << this is the ANDROID OS ?, were i will put this to my htc touch pro2? thanks

  • Put the XDANDROID files in the root directory of you storage card. (aka, don't put them in any folders, just move the contents directly onto the storage card.)

  • Excellent job...I have a question, i have a HTC Hero and I wanted to know if there is a way that I can run Windows on this Android phone?

    Much Thanks!

  • Excellent video as I did not even know the TP2 could support Android!

Question: Which Android version is used for this hack and does it have the Google GPS w/ Voice Navigation available?

    Thanks!

  • can this OS run in sprint touch pro2?

  • The build I am using only works with GSM. Hit up the link in the video description. You should be able to find an answer about CDMA there.

  • hi buddy does it work on htc hd2 ?

  • I rather still use windows mobile 6.5 interface way better.

  • sorry for bothering you again! i followed your instructions and realized there is no core folder! is this a problem? or is that how it's supposed to be?

  • oh and lastly, i have a tilt 2 also!

  • also, mine has been on the booting screen for SO LONG like 20 minutes. is it not working? what could be the issue?

  • hey, am i allowed to set up a google account? I read somewhere that it crashes this. Is this true?

  • I use a Google Account to sync my Contacts to Android. Just don't try to connect with wifi, that will cause the phone to reboot.

  • How could I update if a newer build came out, since as you said, they're continually working on the software?

  • Just keep watching the threads that I reference in the Video Description. As things progress, they will post updates.

  • I noticed that you had 5 app icons on your home. For the life of me, i cant find the settings for it. I also have the latest nrgROM 23518 built, but it comes with 3 app icon on the home screen. How did you tweak it? Thx for the video!!!

  • Use an EnergyROM with MaxManila, That will give you the ability to have more quick-links.

  • Right, since i saw you running 6.5.3, i assumed you were using the latest nrgROM which has manila 2.5.2011 which isnt compatible with any of the maxmanila out there yet. Just thought you had something else tweaked. Thx for the reply!

  • drag and drop icon on screen

  • where do u get the andriod rom from, every where i get mine from it freezes up on my fone, could u please post the link?

  • Hit up the link in the video description, Its all there.

  • How do I disable my PIN unlock in order to allow my dual boot screen to work??

  • @rbolarjr

    Start > Settings > Personal > Lock

it should be there i guess .

  • The wifi works on the kaiser/tilt(1)

  • sickkk, a fast question. I just bought my TP2 and I did not soft/hard reset it.

Can i use this dualboot without cr@cking the phone itself?

    thx

  • The dual boot process doesn't alter any Windows Mobile files aside from a small .cab that brings up the "OS Picker" screen on boot-up. You should be able to dual boot Android to your TP2 without any negative effects.
