I was alluding to those "hippy" costumes which would have been ridiculous in any era, but to answer your question, at the increasing rate of appeal towards the scantily clad, I am not sure if there will anything left to "judge" costume-wise in another 50 years.

My understanding is that fashion revolves in cycle, what goes away comes back eventually again. Moreover, our grand children will certainly make fun of what wear today. Costumes are culture and time-bound, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we should judge movies more graciously than those in real life.

One piece of free advice - Why does it matter to you what people think? Be proud of who you are and what your likes and dislikes are.
