I dnt agree with mkn soldiers killing machines but thz soldiers are vry hard workers. wt do you do to make a difference in ppls lives. wld u risk yr life for sum1 u dnt knw. well these guys do evrydy. God works through all sorts of ppl. n its true there is a difference between self defence and cold blooded killing. A blessing for a soldier can be another day with all four of their limbs still attached, or another chance to come home and hold their child, or another morning that they wake to see the sun rise, etc. A blessing doesn't have to mean strategic victory over one's enemies.
By all means, don't pray for our soldiers if you don't feel compelled to; but don't you dare call them "cursed" because of your enmity towards them or towards my country.
@ProphecyofGod I am glad you say you thought it out carefully..., and I am not without heart when you speak of another sunrise etc.., but the bible does make it clear about Gods intentions for the armies of the world. You pray a prayer that asks God to go against his own prophecies and deny himself for our sakes. I can provide many more verses but I believe you are already in full knowledge of them. Jesus said turn the other cheek., the message I hear coming from US churches is "kill them all"
@mysty0 The Bible makes it clear that God's sovereignty and will is above all. The Christian ideal would be a world without war, but we live in a highly imperfect world and war is often thrust upon people who want peace and have tried loving thine enemies.
And I don't pray for anything that is against God's will; I pray for the safety and well-being of soldiers, many of whom are my personal friends, and most of whom are not bloodthirsty savages.
