  • That there's some classic Rupert Hine production, son.

I do like how the video ties the concert footage into the story narrative towards the end -- it was a clever touch. Too bad all that got overshadowed by a "costume malfunction."

  • The singer seems to have a pair bigger than church bells...

  • This was new exciting music.Video and exotic looking

  • love only love for these guys

  • Giant knee-pads...Hmmm...

  • The singers pants seem a little tight...

  • @titanictom307 Ferme la bouche

  • Oh contere Monfrer alot of them are very much alive...And still ROCKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • going riding on my motorcycle in h.s. friday nites to clubs in long island and manhattan !! GOD I MISS THE 80s' !! Most of those guys are gone now !! TOO MANY DEAD !!

  • I dont normally like 80s music, but when i do, i listen to SAGA!

  • Bubba, if yer out there...remember riding around in your '79 T-Bird with Pod and Stacy...smokin' good ree, birdoggoin' babes in Memorial Park... had this tune cranked up loud...September, 1982....good times.

  • hope the guys held onto those synths - some of them are worth their weight in gold these days.

    :D

  • I really miss these days..............

  • Back in the day this was the sweatiest video on MTV.

  • @The1DonG Too funny! I remember thinking this exact thing back in the day. Sweat, sweat, and more sweat!

  • @misterlaff It was the early eighties, cocaine was rampant. We're all much better now, those of us who survived.

  • He has a Freddie Mercury sans facial hair look.

  • @mamagoogoo Check out the "Don't Be Late" video. He's got the Freddy Mercury lip caterpillar on that one.

  • Heard this on the radio this morning - first time in 20 years!! Amazing sound!

  • this remind me of rollerskating...Speed skate!! Wow! What fun!!!!

  • This era was the best hands down! Saga, Sweet, Sammy Hagar, Aldo Nova, Missing Persons, Ratt, Bryan Adams, Scorpions, early Van Halen and the list goes on. There is nothing that can touch the musciality of this time. This crap today is a shallow cesspool that doesn't take any musicianship and it goes bla bla bla. God i wish it was the early 80's forever!

  • Is that Bertie Higgins in the audience at the end staring at lead singer boys dirty nutt-pants??

  • Just get yourself some tight fitting long johns, and some Giant knee-pads, go out on the town, and you will be back in buisness with The Ladies....

  • BEING ON THE LOOSE...THATS WHAT BEING SINGLE IS ALL ABOUT..TO ME IT SUX..ID RATHER BE ATTACHED AGAIN AND THE GAL I WANT FOR LIFE, KITTY, IS TAKEN NOW....I NEVER GOT A REAL CHANCE, SO...TIME TO MOVE ON, KILL AND CONQUER ALL OF MY DEMONS.....WISH ME LUCK EVERYONE...PETE FROM LONG ISLAND.

  • @rexrockandroll Hey bro, look on the bright side...if you can't have the girl you want for life, at least you can rent one for a while. Just be careful!

  • ONE OF MY ALLTIME FAVES FROM EARLY 80'S. HAD THIS ON VYNYL. WOULD HAVE ON CD EXCEPT THE PRICE TOO HIGH. VID IS FUN TOO!! THANKS FOR UPLOAD! POOR MTV AND VH1 HAVE LOST THEIR WAY. HOPE THEY LOSE PROGRAM MANAGERS QUICK TOO. PLAY THIS STUFF! NIKI MINAJ? GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE BIT'.H

  • Giant knee-pads...Hmmm...

  • Back then you could wear clothes like this and be original and not give a crap. Now you wear something and you are following the flock.

  • All the better to display his Nut Sack Little Red Riding Hood....

  • Is he wearing his pajamas?

  • I've seen things you people wouldn't belive. Attack ships off the sholder of Orion. I wached seabeams glitter in the dark, near the Tenhauser Gates. I watched the lead singer of Saga dangling his Huge Nut Sack before a wild-eyed audience circa 1982...All those moments will be lost in time, like tears....in rain..time to die...

  • @CWMDV Blade Runner !!

  • @CWMDV ZOMG, that has got to be the best YT comment I've read in years...! :D

  • I feel that it is my duty to help heal a generation forever scarred by this singers Nut Shot around 1:57. This Oakville, Ontario, Canada's Nut Sack shot must be neutralized in order to prevent future generations from having video fantasies of dangling their Huge Nut Sacks before a wide-eyed audience on any given Friday...

  • @CWMDV LOL,

  • I'm only 44 and I wish we had that kind of music when I... Oh, wait, nevermind. :-)

  • Wow..dont see to many left handed drummers! (Sorry...it's a drummer thing haha)

  • Only thing wrong with this song is it needs to be louder.

  • Early 80's produced some of the best, FUNNEST tunes ever.... this is great stufff.... fond memories!!

  • On the juice

  • I once raced my Chevy Impala around 120 mph eastbound to Laughlin, Nv after midnight on Hwy 40, but the singer's Nut Shot was to much to bear in my memory, so I slowed down to 100 mph....

  • Great Video and song but I could have lived without the Nut Sack shot around 1:57.

  • The singer's pant's seem a little tight...

  • I am still traumatized by the nut shot around 1:57.

  • @CWMDV I can tell. 4 comments about it. :p

  • @CWMDV I can't stop laughing at your post...It's the middle to the night here and I think I just woke everyone up from laughing so hard.

  • Comment removed

  • Esse vídeo é fantástico!

  • Love this!

  • His nuts were "On the Loose"

  • @CWMDV Your comment made me laugh out loud and I sit here alone

  • @CWMDV lol

  • @CWMDV You're the Nut on the loose...Freakshow!!!!!

  • @titanictom307 Qu'est-ce que fuck?

  • The '80's; Great music, terrible fashion...

  • good 80'music......

  • its good but sad hearing this song again cuz its like remembering the whiff of perfume

of a girl you'l never see again from another time

  • Holy freak I never heard this song until I now. LIke it.

  • Saga is like a psychodelic Toto, a bit

  • @stickittoya1981 hahahahaa and what is the heavy metal version from toto? anyhow both bands are great saga and toto

  • @lovemaker1972 tough question, hahaha, but I think Toto and Saga have more balls and energy than many heavy metal bands.

  • @stickittoya1981 right dude enjoy life

  • I was wondering when I'd finally get the chance to rattle the windows with the Altec Lansing sound system I got with my computer. Finally, I found a reason to. SAGA!

  • Saw these guys in a small club outside Orlando, Fl. back in 1985. Their live performance was as good as their recording. Very talented group of musicians.

  • This song is so energetic it is like stereophonic viagra...love it!!

  • I have a problem with his pants... other than that, good stuff

  • this song is so bad ass i love it to death....

  • a great old video, I just wish the sound wouldn,t shut off when you make a comment!

  • I LOVE SAGA!!! First time i heard this song was when my father heard it, which he does a lot! :D

    SAGA 4EVA!

  • OMG! I haven't heard this song since I was a teenager.

  • * * * * *

  • i heard this in 1983 to the best of my knowledge. i thought this sound would take this band off but it didn't.

music was dead by 1999. it might even be a little bit better now than in 1999. BTW the "cute" people making music are ugly looking and have been for over 15 years.

  • what happened to music today is it stopped being about the music and became all about how cute the band members are and how many teenage girls will buy their cd!

  • What struck me about this band when I first heard them, was the heavy synchronized guitar (bass/lead); even the keyboard notes in sync. I loved that shit man. Rock teamwork at it's best. Very few bands featured this sound. Most were into the ego shit;i.e; front man and shit.

  • perfectly said...what happened to rock and roll? music is awful these days, pretty much anything, image driven garbage, no substance, character.....and yeah tell me who will be in the RRHOF?

  • This is Henry Rollins's little brother Wade.

    :p

  • This song is good for driving 80mph down the highway.

  • @GoBills4Evr on coke.

  • @GoBills4Evr and we always did......getting old blows

  • @GoBills4Evr or even over 100...

  • @GoBills4Evr only 80?

  • @GoBills4Evr

Yep! Umm, how about 100mph :) Go Pats!

  • @Scrimmer08 G-Men 27 Pastries 17

  • @GoBills4Evr

Hey enjoy the game. I think we're looking at Patriots 35 Gints 10.

  • @GoBills4Evr 95

  • @GoBills4Evr also, Radar Love and Twilight Zone, both by Golden Earring.

  • Awesome song. This song is played at Atlanta Falcons games during time outs and commercial breaks!! EVERYONE seems to love it.

  • This song will get you a speeding ticket, play with caution !!!

  • My Graduating Class of 1983 wanted this song to be our theme song. Stupid music teacher said "NO WAY"

  • Scarcely anyone writes complex melodies like this anymore. The entire first half of the 1980s were some of the best years for musical experimentation.

  • Would have loved to have seen this song live. It's a song that could just fill a 20,000 seat arena with that big sound.

  • WOW. A left handed drummer! Dont see that to often! (Sorry, geeky drummer stuff haha) GREAT song. I hadnt heard this in YEARS!

  • Because of this song i want from an outside kid to an inside kid watching mtv for hours and hours.

  • I LOVE this damn song!!

  • I like the damn song ... Its not that big a deal ... ?? Too much BS ... Either its a good song , or it sux ?? And that goes for everything ,...

  • No one can stop me now:to-Knight I'm on the Loose! Know "One" can Stop(Halt) us now:To- Night Ware(software-hardware) on the Loose!

  • Singer is definately an Ectomorph. Seriously needs nourishment. Looks like, but I can't tell, that he's wearing some kind of diaper. They definately need a Reunion Tour like butter needs toast.

  • singer looks a bit like Daniel Day Lewis

  • I remember when MTV would play this. I'd stop what I was doing and listen to that awesome bass part.

  • I wanted his outfit back when I first saw this

  • Haven't heard this tune in *decades*, much less even remember the video. Awesome post. Love the production and the solo section is NOT for musicians who wanna be slackers. Fantastic memories, man...

  • Who is chasing these nice people, and w

  • Awesome job with the quality of the video and sound - I always loved this song and cringed when I saw it on MVT because the speed was a little faster then the radio or my cassette...which I still have (showing my age!). This copy has corrected the speed and it sounds better as well.

Be sure to check out live performances of this, I've seen a couple from Germany from about five years ago - they still sound as awesome as they did when this first came out.

  • holy crap,, all these years i never knew who sang this, then the other day i couldn't get the chorus out of my head and had to google it. I still dont think i ever heard the band name though

  • Love this song, but I swear I can't help but think the singer and Daniel Day Lewis may have been separated at birth. :)

  • great 80's song

  • Michael Sadler = incredibly hot body!!!

  • Im Freddy Mercury

  • THIS SONG IS SO FUCKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Me too; I'm 48 and I keep thinking about 1980-1990 all the time. Today's new stuff has no balls.... it's too thin creatively. Dudes we were lucky. the only chance we have is to put together a group. I play keyboards, drums and guitar. ..... I'm ready....

  • These guys were Al Dimeola fans

  • I'm 43 yrs old and love this but also like what's on the radio now.

  • My first concert !! Saga was the warm up band for Pat Benatar. 1982

Saga was awesome. The drummer for Pat Benatar was insane!

  • @MsMimi39 Insane in a good or bad way? ;D

  • @TheStairyGirl He was really good.

  • Very cool song! Outstanding!

  • Hey Mike !!! Think back to high school ... you're 'formal' date ? Yep, it's Heather. Wish I could have seen your band live. Fanastic sound .....

  • Ah... I remember when EVERYONE was walking around with external jock straps and knee pad protectors. Those were the days!

  • @TheTonylemmon -- I think I scared my rabbit laughing, omg! Some ballerino pants he's got there, eh.

  • @TheTonylemmon Ah yes the codpiece. Pants with too many zippers, And a shirt with Japanese writing that translates: I like popsicles.

  • love this song!

  • I absolutely love this song! Man, these were the good old days of when music was real & not some digital crap that is just called "music". That singer was good to look at, too. =)

  • What happened to his porn 'stache?

  • I always wondered why they never got any traction in the US after this LP.

  • These kids have no clue, The best music was in the 80s. PERIOD

  • Ahhhh yes, often played and often enjoyed.

  • MTV played this vid about every freekin hour in 81

  • FREAKING AMAZING DAMN SONG!!!!!!!!!

  • i just got a boner...

  • 1981 was the best year ever for rock, and I was a teen in the middle of it. Couldn't've asked for better timing. The only down on this video was that the lead singer looked like he was wearing a Onesie.

Oh...and 6 viewers who thumbed this down are apparently NOT on the loose. Bail...denied!

  • JUST SAY NO TO ZIONISM

  • I've never seen so many paragraphs concerning a song.

    Must be a reason..

  • The beauty of music is time, i remember when Saga first came out, and i thought they were cool, 30 years later i realized that they were actually one of the most technically advanced bands in music history. The un-appreciated technical precision of Ian Crichton has really only been imitated since the maybe the last 10 years(and still no reference), but what Ian and the keys did was, and probably will never be seen again.

Truly a band beyond comprehension then...and now

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA agree with you on that one dude!!!

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA It's fag rock lol the "keyboard player" isn't doing anything different from every other keyboard player from the 80's. I could name quite a few of them if you'd like to waste some of my time lol

  • @MindstormRecs

"fag rock"? well at least you show your true state right at the start. You obviously missed the point of my post that you replied to,nor do i believe you'll comprehend the following: you say waste some of your time?,yet you send me a message? oh,i get it, writing half a post isn't a waste of your time, but an entire post is.

fucktard, now go play your video games(i love my name)

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA An old man that calls people fucktards lol congrats! I understand your post. You think because a shitty band with a particular keyboard player that you happen to like plays pretty decently it automatically trumps everyone else that has ever played keyboards which is the most uneducated talking out of your ass observation I've ever read. Go look up the name Minoru Mukaiya who's been around since the 70's and then come talk to me about imitating fucktard lol

  • @MindstormRecs

Hilarious, you still didn't get the point per my post your originally replied to...yet you continually attempt to converse with me. My name certainly is fitting, if you're not american, you certainly could have fooled me.

Now please bore me with more of your idiocy...fucktard(i got that word from you zombies, thought i'd throw something you know)

    next...

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Lol no I got the point, it's just that I shat all over it and you have nothing to come back with except more of the last comment you made. Attempt to converse? What are you some supremely cynical all knowing god or something lol? You're an old fuck bickering with someone half your age on a video website and I'm laughing at every minute of it. Don't push the fucktard on me, that's your embarrassing childlike insult you fucking ignoramus lol

  • @MindstormRecs

boring...wake me when someone tells you your I.Q. has risen above freezing, but the way you sound, you still love at home with mommy and daddy. Please let them know that i said they failed you. On that note, how would they know, if your a bi-product of those two slobs i'm certain their apple didn't fall far from their tree...ouch

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Congrats on being a cynical old douche as well. ZombielandakaUSA lol what's your backup username? SheepleakaUSA? Fucking pathetic dude

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Lol you're really reaching there buddy. Intelligence and mommy daddy jokes peppered with assumption fails? I'll end our little discussion here while you still have the little sliver of dignity you had before you participated in the special olympics known as internet arguing. Who's more intelligent? The guy getting entertainment out of this or the poor old fuck who needs to have the last word even at the risk of embarrassing himself with shitty insults? :D Smh

  • @MindstormRecs

zzzzz, every time i see your name, i get sleepy...sorry

ever watch old people fuck(your parents)? neither have i, but it would probably be infinitely more entertaining than reading your stereotypical american banter...

here's a good one...pull your lower lip over the top of your head...then swallow

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Kind of hard to sleep while YOU'RE ANSWERING EVERY COMMENT WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF ME TYPING THEM. Where were you attempting to go with that horrendous old people fucking "joke"? Crash and burn insult into an attempt at an American joke. Then veering into painfully lame joke from when you were a kid. Yea real good one. Cringeworthy in fact. Infinitely oh you're so intelligent. Lmao you really need that last word don't you? Next comment should just say blah blah

  • @MindstormRecs

    are you in college?

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA You attempt to formulate an insult that falls flat. I cringe. You make an attempt once again. I cringe once again. You bring up old people fucking and intelligence levels. I sit here confused as to what that has to do with playing the keyboard. This could go on all day. Have the last word if that's what your poor little pathetic ego needs. I award you the shining gold medal of retardation for seriously pursuing an internet argument lol It's been fun

  • great one Bob

  • OOH the memories of old M tv . I must have watched that vid 100 times, but not since... 1983.

  • the lead singer kinda reminds me of Fee Waybill from the Tubes

  • Please listen to my 3 songs I posted

I'm a new artist and looking for feed back before recording them in the studio.

Please listen and let me know what you would like to hear.

    Thank you

Click on my name and listen to all 3 songs

  • this tune is definatly 1 of my all time favs!! i wish they could have made alot more music though! they came sang then left it seemed!! bummer! saga will live in my memory forever because of this tune LOL

  • Whoa, I watched the video & dam epsteinsmutha1 and tommybass40, you guys are right. I just turned 45 & man this takes me back, I played this so much from the cassette tape I had,may have worn the tape out. I so love the solo in it, that is my favorite part. I still listen to all my favs from the 80s

  • @lilbear8789 you said it man! can't believe i'm 44 now and loved this song! 80s ruled!

  • Oh wow what a flashback. I used to wait for hours to see this vid on MTV back in 1981. Incredible instrumental in the song, still sounds great 30 years on.

  • Saw Saga twice at my high school. Just after they released their first album and just before releasing their second one. These guys were amazing live - no studio tricks for them! What you heard on the album is what you heard live.

  • Good song to skate to...js

  • The only Saga song that was half way decent...

  • Brings back the good times. Really good band tho! Have a close listen, They are tight. Thanx for the post & 6 people suck & didnt like the 80's

  • Wow, I had totally forgotten about this song. Loved it back in the day. Will def be purchasing on iTunes tonight. The singer looks like Christian Bale in "AMERICAN PSYCHO."

  • These Guys...engineered sounds on stage as they do in the studio....Live!!!

  • @sprydo7

They were a good live band (I've seen/heard true live clips of theirs), but this is not live. Like most (not all, but most) music videos, this is the studio track paired with live film footage. Standard procedure.

  • I didn't know Daniel Day Lewis was in a rock band.

  • classic tune.. why do you not hear music like this anymore ?? ah.. that's right too soft for a rock station and too much for a SOFT rock station.

  • OH my hell I can't believe I happened upon this video. This song takes me back to simpler times in my youth. Back in the day when gas was under a dollar a gallon. You could spend the night cruising main for 5 dollars in an American made Muscle car ('69 Roadrunner with 383), smoking the tires and enjoying yourself without the cell ringing and the cops chasing you for too many carbon emissions. Awesome song! Very Freddy Mercuryesque

  • Fuckin SAGA i havent heard this song since the eighties, wore my cassette out! KICK ASS

  • I wore out the "Worlds Apart" cassette in the summer of 1983! LOVED the whole album, and they ABSOLUTELY should've been A LOT BIGGER!

I think I need to get the CD out now!!! Glad I happened on this YT clip!

  • you have to enjoy the amusement of how every generation loves their music and things everything else is crap. I must say that I don't particularly enjoy a lot of music in this generation however our "devil music" has its one appeal and a lot of it is quite good. You can not however have a "spot on" anything of music if you simply judge it by what you like. enjoying music and having respect for good artists are two completely different things.

  • One of my all time favorites!
