The calls against Texas were for penalties they committed. The Horns also turned the ball over 5 times! The last turnover is what lost the game for them.

What really killed TX was all the penalties at key points in the game. At least one (illegal formation) cost you a touchdown. Two more (pass interference and a face mask) set up Bama to go up by 2 touchdowns. You can't do this and still hope to win.

Hightower was in the featured middle linebacker position and was a big loss. He was replaced by Cory Reemer. This allowed Cortney Upshaw an opportunity for more playing time also. Upshaw was the guy who recovered the last fumble. Just fate I guess.

McCoy DID play Alabama. Unfortunately, he was only able to physically do it for about one minute. So for all you people who are wondering what it would have been like to see McCoy play...we already know. Texas was unable to win with Colt McCoy. Why pass when you can get yards on the ground? Passing is riskier and should only be used after you establish the run. I don't care how many passes McElroy threw. He did what he could and his teammates did the rest. Don't forget, McElroy was MVP in the SEC title game and Ingram was Offensive MVP in the BCS game. That's balance!

Bama has been struggling sense Franchione. We've have had some serious downs, we lost bowl eligibility, Mike Shula(the equivalent to Bush in the White House), n then the Brodie Croyle era. To be fair to Auburn, they had a 13-0 season in 2004 and got locked out of the title game. Judging from the actual title game, Auburn would have been a better match-up, but the pollsters gave the shot to SC and Oklahoma. Oklahoma got blown out. Yeah true true texas did have a defense that could not stop the bama run, but if you paid attention there defense was out there for so long they got burned out. The texas O went 3 in out too much, and in all honesty there defense was smacking the bama offense around. The only difference colt would have made is he would have elongated offensive drives and then the bama would have been destroyed by a rested D. The end result would have been a blowout with texas on top.

Don't forget that Ingram was injured and sat out most of the 2nd half. Not only that, our QB also had injured ribs thus limiting the passing game and Hightower, our best LB has been out since the 4th game of the season.
The calls against Texas were for penalties they committed. The Horns also turned the ball over 5 times! The last turnover is what lost the game for them.

@GIZMODAWG and...Hightower comes back next year. we're so stacked on offense next year. also, we recruited 2 5* DBs, 4* WR, and a 4* RB runnin a 4.4 benchin 290. Eddie George said beyond a doubt Bama will make it back 2 the championship. I wanna see a real matchup with Boise State. I think they should go.

So Colt was the whole team? Why not run the ball? It worked for Alabama. Our guy only completed 6 of 11 passes because he was injured (two broken ribs). It just didn't happen.
What really killed TX was all the penalties at key points in the game. At least one (illegal formation) cost you a touchdown. Two more (pass interference and a face mask) set up Bama to go up by 2 touchdowns. You can't do this and still hope to win.

@Mikevdog Yes, texas fans think colt mccoy was the whole team and that had he not been hurt in the game he would have led their team to a victory over Alabama. lol..Apparently they think as he tired running with the ball, he slipped on a banana peel lol

The sad part was, their Freshman QB could have been injured much worse than McCoy when the Texas line failed to protect his blindside on that unabated Anders hit that basically sealed it for the Tide. Texas fans would have cried about how he got hurt driving for what was certainly going to be the winning score!

@Mikevdog Gilbret was alot tuffer than Mccoy. Im sure Gilbret put alot of theblame on himself,,but it was more his team mates fault for not protecting him better. Gilbret did a good job of bringing his team back,,tx fans should be supporting him for how well he played instead of harping on"what if",,wouldve, couldve,shouldve, Because with the way Mccoy threw turnovers all year, its possible they could have gotten beat even worse. I think Gilbret was the best player of the whole tx team

Hightower was in the featured middle linebacker position and was a big loss. He was replaced by Cory Reemer. This allowed Cortney Upshaw an opportunity for more playing time also. Upshaw was the guy who recovered the last fumble. Just fate I guess.

Cheated?? I'm a USC fan, so it didn't really matter to me who won. That being said, i didn't see anytime throughout the game when Alabama cheated. It was a clean, legal hit on McCoy. It's unfortunate for UT that he was hurt but there was no cheating involved. Please don't make yourself look like a sore loser by claiming someone cheated when they didn't. You starting to sound like a Notre Dame fan...

Just because McCoy got hit by a real man, it does not classify as cheating. Now maybe the Tebow haters around the nation will finally see what he goes through running the ball in the SEC.
By the way: besides the closing 2 minutes, your backup quarterback played twice as good as our starter. The difference is that our gameplan is not set on only one player!!!
