I agree that these turn of events are quite unfortunate-- but I'm not going to judge her for it. People make bad and good decisions--my video is praising her demonstration of courage at the pageant (whether you agree with her or not). I don't condone bad behavior, but I also don't know much about the details behind the Sex tape to comment on it. I do know that the tape was made long before the pageeant, so Carrie's views then is probably a more current representation of what she believes.

Prejean's opinion was a "minority view" in the Pageant competition, so she did have a lot at stake.

I'm not going to use derogatory language, My point is that Miss America uses the Bible to judge gays and gay marriage, but doesn't use the Bible to judge her own life. Where did Moses, Jesus or Paul say that it was ok for a woman to walk across a stage in a bikini with makeup on and be judged by her beauty? What does the Bible say about how women are to dress and wear their hair? If she's going to judge gays by a Biblical standard, she should live her life by the same Biblical standard.

Thank you for being polite and for expressing your opinions. As for your questions, read the book of Ester. Ester and a bunch of other ladies were beautified, were dressed, and had their hair groomed to be "judged" by the King, so that he can pick a new Queen. God used Ester to achieve amazing things for His Kingdom; for example Ester used her political influence to prevent a Jewish genocide. It is a short but interesting book in the Bible that I recommend!

Nevertheless, I understand that you are probably saying that before Prejean "judges" gays, she should examine her own life. That's true, no one is perfect except God, and everyone has sinned and fallen short. But I believe Prejean was just expressing her personal opinions about the "definition" of marriage without being judgmental or accusatory towards any one group of people (such as that of the LGBT community).

My video is about commending Miss CA for speaking her mind, but in response you use the word chink and call me a "biggot." Both Miss CA and I don't use derogatory terms, and maintain general respect for all people. Having a belief or opinion doesn't make you a bigot, but harrassing others for their beliefs does. Also, people have called me many things; I'm pretty desensitized to such so I don't think my reaction to a "chink" statement would be impressive.

Debatable. If it's a right for opposite sex people to marry it's arguably a right for same sex marriages to exist too. The constitution certainly doesn't include anything limiting it to just men and women. And the right to marry certainly relates to the "pursuit of happiness"

JiminL, loved your post and agree with you that Carrie should be commended for speaking her true belief. One thing I disagree with, I think the majority of Americans WOULD agree with her statement. Marriage is a divine institution between a man and a woman - it always has been. The MAJORITY of Americans believe this, and as such, she represented America. It's a shame the media blows this so far out of proportion and it's ironic that they penalized her for supporting the majority.
