@willchoppers It is definitly not easy to play, as it doesnt produce the right tone level no matte rhow you blow in it. You have to match your embouchure and lungs exactly to the sax, mouthpiece and reed, and then practice for years.

@willchoppers he's wrong. well he's not totally wrong but heres the thing (I play alto sax as well)... It is true that the sax is the easiest instrument to play. However, with that being said, its the HARDEST instrument to make sound good. You might want to think about what that means... yea sure, anyone can learn to play the sax but out of those people, only a select few can really make it sound good.

1. EXCELLENT TONE, even though it is a bit classical.

2. Nice choice of neck strap, I have that neck strap I believe, The De jacques no?

3. I will admit it is weird seeing a female alto saxophonist Philimander, but I have seen a couple female Bari sax players too which make female alto seem a lot less... "weird.

4. You play with good control and vibrato which I do approve of so nice job.

While I might feel, like some, to be a bit "sax is a mans instrument" that's only because it is stereotypically used for love songs about a woman. Aside from a bit too much reverb from the chapel, that was the smoothest playing of the song I've heard. Brings me back to the aspirations I had as a kid before I was forced to drop the instrument (moved and couldn't rent one).

Those Selmers are amazing, as well as your playing. Though, I'm not one to critique it :D. Being German is a plus.

I know this may sound very sexist but, for some reason I find female sax players to look very amateur :P not just because it's your playing but take someone else like Kaori Kobayashi :P she is amazing and yet I just find it weird when a female plays saxophones. Something just marks it for males in my opinion :P wanna discuss?

@kevinjiang12 Not tough at all. I was a mediocre clarinet player and learned the riff for this song in a day on the saxophone by ear. It takes a while to perfect.

@kevinjiang12 Transitioning to Saxophone is not tough at all. Saxophone has one of the easiest fingerings of all wind instruments. The patterns relate to many different instruments. In fact you already know most of the sax fingerings! Think of your fourth line D, every note after D until C ledger line is the exact same on saxophone. The beauty of the saxophone is that those fingerings transpose to three octaves with just the use of the sax's register key.

Classic performance: warm and consistent centred tone; minimal, but inspired use of vibrato; superb breathing technique; embouchure like Cannonball (mouthpiece just ‘floats’ on lower lip). Obviously the person who commented about the puffy cheeks , isn't even remotely aware of Dizzy Gillespie, and that this is something normal.I don't play sax, but i guess you have to maintain good air pressure, which is constant, thus the cheeks get puffed..I think.

@Ozscii it really doesn't matter which saxophone you choose. tenor or alto can both be used in classical, blues, and melodic jazz... i assume you are in high school, if so the band classes(if offered, primarily play classical pieces, keep in mind that this is for a full band set up so you will be given parts that are arranged specifically for sax). in my personal opinion the saxophone sounds better in a jazz, blues or even classic rock setup... in all reality the choice of saxophone is up to you
