Is there an Exposé clone that will work at the application level? I set up Leopard on this [Dell] Laptop but I prefer Vista. After seeing Exposé in Photoshop, it doesn't leave something to be desired, I'll admit. I am fine alt-tabbing [or windows-tabbing] with Vista, but CTRL+Tab in Photoshop doesn't let you see each open image at once.
aw it'd be awesome to try all this mad stuff out on 98 :P If soemone pimped that out vista would look pretty silly.
I like vista, os x and ubuntu. Ubuntu is fun but for the majority of things I use the computer for its not enough. OS X is nice and Tiger ran pretty quick on any Mac. Leopard doesn't do so well on the Macbook and Mac Mini due to poor graphics, there are glitches. Vista does the most stuff and gives you some good effects. Although currently im on XP and Ubuntu.
I have leopard on my macbook and it runs fine. I have 2gb of RAM, don't know if that's any better than yours or not but I've had it 6 months without any real glitches at all :-/
I also have ubuntu and XP and I deffo prefer os x.
I have to disagree with your statement that windows does more. If you know where to look on the mac there are so many things out there exclusive for it. For instance check out iAlertU, liquid mac, and wallsaver.
When i talk about the graphics, if your on a mac mini, macbook or macbook air, and you turn on magnification for the dock, its jumpy at times with no applications open. That ain't right.
In os x tiger it was always smooth unless your were running some powerful applications, but even then the processing power was usually managed so that it wouldn't affect it.
Snow Leopard however should be a much better version and fix these performance issues.
It is pointless but fun :-p. The dock is never jumpy for me and I have a macbook with magnification on full, I've had 6 or 7 apps open at once without any jumping what-so-ever. Also when my mates use coverflow on windows in iTunes it jumps, but for me on my mac it flows perfectly. Snow leopard is going to be amazing; theoretical RAM limit of 16TB :-o. Crazy stuff, they're also aiming for it to use less RAM than XP basic!
