Frank Patterson was the best. When he sang Danny Boy Tears were running down my Face, i could listen to him all Day. Did he do a Video that is called My Son? i would love to put that into my Favorites. Sleep in Peace Frank, you will never be forgotten and lieve on in your Music with your beautiful Voice.
(Part 1 of 2) I never ever get tired of listening to Frank Patterson, for so many reasons. Of course there is that glorious "golden" voice and the seeming effortlessness of his artistry. Less universally appreciated (I think) is his linguistic expertise.
(Part 2 of 2) Not only did he sing fluently in at least six languages, but if you compare the appropriate "Irish lilt" here with his flawlessly sung and spoken American accent in "Green Green Grass of Home" (unfortunately not yet uploaded to YouTube), it brings to mind Nicolai Gedda's similar (albeit grander operatic) musical perfectionism. (And the warmth added by Eily's harp accompaniment here is a delight worth cherishing as well.)
I ALSO LOVE THE BING COSBY VERSION FROM THE MOVIE " GOING MY WAY "
