  • Thanks for posting this album Barbara, I wasn't aware of it. I'll be back to listen to more. I have the Cold Mountain soundtrack in my collection which is wonderful - although I couldn't watch the film, to harsh for me.

  • @KistoDreams Thanks for finding this album. It is a true treasure. I have had it for sometime. I bought it in the mountains years ago & it doesn't get "old". I love most every song on it. I appreciate your comment very much. My best, Barb

  • lovely song. this song actually came from Scotland though, which is not the same as Ireland/England (especially in its historical context, very different indeed!!) :)

  • @jessie91scot I will have to take your word for it. I researched and found that Child published "English and Scottish Ballads" and that this song is similar to Barbara Allen (which I had picked up on my own). I can't tell which the ballad is, but am very interested in how the song fits into history. I love it when a song has historical context: i.e. my version of "The Bonnie Earl of Moray" by The Standing Stones. Thanks for your comment. It's appreciated. My best, Moppet
