  • GM cars are the best my first car was a nova and that was it, since then all my cars & trucks have been GM, I drive a silverado 2010 4x4 I'm planing to buy a Spark next year.

  • This video is pretty interesting, does that make me a nerd? We might be able to work together. I help people who have file bankruptcies get a cash settlement

  • It's funny how GM got bankrupt. The many rap videos couldn't help the company. Hummer ain't worth shit. The EV cars were trashed.

  • I'll tell you a ramification of GM's bankruptcy, better cars on the roads in the future

  • How many businesses have you ever run, successfully? Excessive govt regulation, environmentalists and the UAW have produced such an anti-business environment for autos, that it only makes sense to build your cars somewhere more friendly. I can't help it if the 'blue collar worker' always voted for the politicians that drove such an anti-business environment. Also, they are not blue-collar workers anymore - now they are all high-dollar welfare cases waiting for B.O. to take care of them.

  • Sooo. Basically even the workers that hold these low intrest bonds dont even want stock in the "Govt. Motors"....This should tell you something.

BUY AMERICAN, BE AMERICAN, BUY A FORD.

  • Ford is the only company that takes there lumps and deals with it. Just like the American people. SUPPORT THEM. Im going to miss the LS1,6,7's though. Theres no way in hell Ill get a Cobalt SS.

  • My thoughts are for the workers, but GM is a backwards company that makes the filthiest and most inefficient cars in the world. It is interesting when the EV1 is mentioned and the only explanation as to why GM destroyed these cars was a short term loss in profits from retooling factories and spare parts sales. One would hope this company is nationalised.

  • Fk GM...They killed the electric car...now is the time to them to go....save GM only if they bring back EV1

  • If you look at it one way GM tanking is kinda a good thing because that takes a automotive giant out of the way for smaller car manufactuares to take its place so it might create more jobs and lead to compititon for the cheapest best car possible for us consumers but i guss with the economy in the shithole it would be hard to start a business but its a possiblity that might work in our benifit

  • $20 billion just flushed down the toilet! Bail outs really do work, don't they. GM filed bankruptcy.

  • GM did file bankruptcy. It just happened.

  • Give GM and the govt more of your money!

  • American auto companies fail because of unfair union contracts and massive govt-imposed regulations. Guess what? Now GM and Chrysler are almost 100% owned by the UAW and the US govt. The writing is on the wall - these are going to be the biggest money pits in history. I guess that will be another milestone we can all 'feel good about' - because that must be what matters most to people these days.

  • Totally misguided and wrong. Blaming the blue collar worker and not management is just plain stupid. Who brought Hummer? Who produced then crushed the EV-1 electric car? The workers? Guess again. You don't understand any of this. The wall street inspired plan is not to own GM just move it. Move it's manufacturing offshore to China, Mexico or another third world country. It's all about profits. They're moving and the US government's gonna help fund the move. Wake up.

  • The amount 'given' to GM so far is the equivalent of $300,000 per employee - and, like Obama said, "you aint seen nothin' yet". The govt will have to give GM an additional $30 - 50 billion over the next several years just to keep them afloat. In that time, the quality and innovation of the cars will lag behind that of free-market manufacturers that get rewarded for making smart business decisions.

  • How sad, the end of an American icon.

Didn't we all have a GM car we loved? GM tried to tell us what we wanted, not the other way around.

Under Obama's central planning, we can look forward to fine cars like the Trabant, the Lada, and the ever popular Yugo (with smaller engines of course)..

GM and Chrysler will not survive.

  • Oh- Toyota not in this mess because they don't have unions demanding paying line mechanics $75 bucks an hour. Unsustainable.

  • Wow !! that bailout worked well. Listen folks you just ate 20 BILLION in taxes that we all will be paying for for years. That is why bailouts don't work and why we are in deep trouble because idiots were handing out money like candy and not thinking about the end result. Hell they should just give each family a new car and call it even.

  • They went bankrupt.

  • Sixteen million cars sold in USA before the "recession". Now, the best estimate is nine million. That, my friends, is a drop of 44%. Read it here: GM will not survive! Nor does it deserve to survive.

  • GM made $17 billion profit in 2007. in 2008 they made $11 billion in profit, plus $30 billion in bailout money.

Yet they open 2 new billion dollar plants over seas. cut back on the plants here in the states as well as the pay.

Let GM die off like American Motors.

  • GM will end up like all govt run entities, broke, worthless, and stealing money from taxpayers!!!

  • Funny, you don't see Toyota on the verge of bancruptcy. And they are made in the U.S.

  • Japanese cars are better anyway

  • Goddamnit Obama just nationalize them already.

  • Jobs is why Washington approved the bailout, which has been too little too late. I think the brands like Pontiac should be split off into separate employee-owned companies -- found a cool site; Balkingpoints ; incredible satellite view of earth

  • gm sucks dick anyways, chevy eats ass go japanese cars!

  • FU AND FUK ALL ASIAN MAID SHIT!!!

  • the UAW ruined all u.s. auto companies -

the selfish assholes are getting what they deserve

  • I don't think i'm getting a mishibishi spyder WOOT!

  • one ramification is those jap-traps are looking a lot more attractive than even a ford.

  • nobody wants a deal with Government Motors. they should've let them fail and go bankrupt in the first place.. what a joke this idea that the federal government is out to solve problems. when have they done anything, not including militarily, that works?

  • Go ahead, Govt Motors, I will never buy a GM or Chrysler again, ever. It is Ford - or any other car now. That is one ramification.

  • well said beau, I drive a 1985 GM truck and I love her but should I buy another car it will be a ford for me.

  • I was not kidding either...... I drive a 2007 GMC Sierra and my wife drives a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. I am serious - I will not buy another GMC or Chevy (and won't even look at Chrysler). I was at the Ford dealer this week looking for a replacement vehicle for my wife. I didn't need to buy a new truck in 2008, but I thought I would do my 'duty' as a good citizen and help out a company in need (and because it was a heck of a deal). Screw them now!

  • i have a better idea, what dont you leave this country and not bother buying any car period.

  • you win the prize - that is exactly what B.O. wants for you as well. if he had his way, we would all ride bikes to work and nobody would own a car. except, that is, the elite in DC that will still fly around in private jets and ride in limos. as for moving out of the country, if you wouldn't leave during the past 8 years, why should i leave now?
