Im reaallyy keen to become a makeup artist & photographer. Im starting up really soon just doing my friends then taking different pictures. My parents dont know yet about me doing my friends, i havent told them because they dont want me to be a makeup artist or photographer my mum wants me to be a teacher like her! :/ no way do i want to teach bratty kids that dont care what im saying and all my relatives want me to be a vet my uncles really pushy about it!! Any suggestions bcos my mums banned
@MsGypsy97 Well first of all, tell the rest of your family that they have nothing to do with your future. If your uncle has his own kids, let him deal with them. If not, tell him he should have had some if he wanted a life to control. Secondly, when you get to the age where you're going to college, what your parents want won't matter as much(from your name, I'm guessing you were born in 97 which makes you around 14) and lastly if you are that age, your goals will probably change. They always do.

I'm 400 hours away from being an apprentice cosmetologist and when I started school I went to the craft store and bought a black bag just like this one:) Now everyone in the school has one! If anyone needs a good bag to organize things this bag is great!!! It's really cheap too:)

@kps1215 It's extremely expensive to get started. You can make several hundred dollars on a wedding in a weekend, but your supplies will cost about that much up front. Working on shoots or anything like that takes a much bigger time commitment, so it's not easy to do on the side because you're expected to be flexible with your time. You can make between $10-20/hour plus commission though if you're working at a counter, so that might be worth considering.
When starting a makeup kit is it okay to use any of your personal makeup as long as it's sanitized? or do you need to have separate makeup; some for your personal use and some for your clients?
@lulumariemissypu why don't you get back to your 'model agency' and critique models, instead of wasting your time listing Kandee's 'faults''. Because last I checked she isn't trying to pursue a modeling career or asked for your opinion. Just enjoy the damn video or don't watch at all.

I've been wearing make-up since I was 14, and I'm 22 now. I can definitely see effects of all the tugging and pulling underneath my eyes, I already have small lines underneath them. And yet... make-up artists themselves have firm looking skin and no lines underneath your eyes (or maybe you just cover them up?) and I'm wondering how you do that when you probably mess around with makeup all the time!
I've found most people who choose to "speak their minds" are in some form or another very insecure about who they are, Insecurity strikes out at those who are strong and confindent in who and what they are. Someone who is kind enough, to share knowledge with those who cant afford or just are starting out, should be thanked and appreicated, not critizied..........YOU get out there and do what others do, then lets talk.

@mrztweetbeak buy theatrical brand makeup! its cheaper and much more effective! the graftobian HD super palettes come with 18 different foundation shades for only $67. and each one lasts a good 30 applications.
@mrztweetbeak its okay having drugstore makeup in fact those are sometimes the best product the work just as well as mac and name brands for like 1/4 the price and when buying makeup remeber your buying the product not the name
@mrztweetbeak I doubt actresses or actors would want to do their own makeup, nor would they have to many concerns about the makeup other than they look good when the work is done. I never heard of anyone in tv or motion pictures demanding to do their own make up.

I like Kandee I just have to agree that she needs to be tidy with the cosmetics that she uses. I have my own make up artist who has old make up too but he keeps them tidy all the time.

I've been wearing make-up since I was 14, and I'm 22 now. I can definitely see effects of all the tugging and pulling underneath my eyes, I already have small lines underneath them. And yet... make-up artists themselves have firm looking skin and no lines underneath your eyes (or maybe you just cover them up?) and I'm wondering how you do that when you probably mess around with makeup all the time!

I've found most people who choose to "speak their minds" are in some form or another very insecure about who they are, Insecurity strikes out at those who are strong and confindent in who and what they are. Reading these comments makes me feel sad that youtube has become so hateful. I find these tutorials pretty educational and I think we forget that the people making these videos are REAL people and have feelings just like the rest of us.

@mrztweetbeak I doubt actresses or actors would want to do their own makeup, nor would they have to many concerns about the makeup other than they look good when the work is done. I never heard of anyone in tv or motion pictures demanding to do their own make up.

hello, im sorta poor and dont have the money to get all that expensive make up and brushes so can u do a video bout good make you can buy at walmart and the things u can use to apply make up like brushes make up pads things like that you might have to use. i use mostly nude colors bc that looks best on me and i dont really kno how to apply eye shadow without messing upp. help plz

Hey can anyone tell me which video it is that kandiee mentions the product with silicon (I think that's the ingredient) that I believe is by Christian Dior and it fill in fine lines. She puts it under her eyes and on her forehead.

This is very helpful...
