  • cool song

  • Temazzzooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish jim did more a cappella stuff in the style of the intro. this whole album is something special. been spinning it all week.

  • Poor Otis dead and gone...

  • This is a weird song. Try Riders on the Storm.

  • I have this LP (vinyl) from the year 69 and consider it to be one of the best discs of them

  • gosh , jim is just perfect...

  • the last time I heard this song, I was 14. I will be 57 in February. Holds up perfectly - the song that is!

  • not there best, ummm

  • i'm a huge fan of the doors, but this song is less than mediocre.

  • @progreadicto

really, you think so? I'm a huge Doors fan, and this is one of my favourite Doors tracks, it doesn't exhibit the grandiose sounds of their more famous works, but it gives Jim and the boys space 2 show of some different styles, Jim does some great vocal Impressions of Dylan, and references to Otis which is lovely, and a very fluid lyrical structure, lots of verve and playfulness on this one, I think, which is a refreshing counter-point to some of their other work,

  • This sounds like a garage rehershal session.

  • I have been jammin to the doors since i was a wee little one thanks to my dad.

  • I absolutely love this song!!!

  • it's not just old people who hear The Doors. i'm 14!

  • What an awsome song on an awesome album, its amazing the impact they had on the music world in only 4 years time, this one song has so much depth and intertweaving of so many musical instruments and Morrisons vocals were at his best all make this song what it is, this song should be on the radio, they keep playing the same rotations without ever tapping into all the great ones, maybe thats why its special to their fans because it not overplayed.

  • i remember blowing all that coke that night...this album got me through

  • Poor Otis dead and gone

Left me here to sing his song

Pretty little girl with the red dress on

    Poor Otis dead and gone

  • @keanu517

yep we all know the lyrics to.

  • Just bought the 45 with this song on it! Amazing.

  • I'm the only one who thinks that Robby Krieger sounds too much like Dylan?

  • @TheMapacheHero When I first heard this song I was convinced it was Dylan

  • @orgamechan likewise hahaha

  • @TheMapacheHero Thought that exact thing while listening hahah

  • @TheMapacheHero I came to this video to check if it was Dylan.

  • R.I.P. OTIS AND JIM :/

  • nobuddy but me remebered poor otis dead and gone and i couldnt remeber the album now ican prove it to them thankss

  • @79mojorisin no after all she did "lose" them right ;) lol

  • buen tema

  • @79mojorisin

“Its a funny thing, I noticed that when people are joking theyre usually dead serious, and when theyre dead serious its usually pretty funny. So actually I think that anything that you say means exactly what you say and its opposite.”

    -Jim Morrison

  • This album is finally starting to grow on me. I always hated it in comparison with other Doors material

  • Haha, was that Ray, making fun of Bob Dylan?

  • dont need to trip to understand the doors, drink maybe but not trip

  • I love the whole song but i do have a favorite part, 1:11 - 1:30

  • Hey...I like Katy Perry...I have her CD and I'm 60 years old! Sure I love the Doors, I grew up in the 60's, 70's and 80's in Southern Cal, was in several bands and an artist living by the South Bay beaches. I enjoy her, Kesha, GaGa, Wheezy et. al. It's just POP muzik!

  • @Ampvega Pop music nowadays is so inventive, it`s unbelievable.

Last week ago, some friends and me were listening to the Luxembourgish charts and i swear there were 9 out of 10 songs with the exact same chord progression ! We were, no they can`t be serious, but after another listen we were like come on let`s make a song out of this, so we are now working a meledy of 42 modern pop songs, which all have the same chords and strumming pattern. That shows that pop music is most uncreative you can get

  • genial!

  • Moral question: my daughter won't quit playing katy perry. Is it wrong to "lose" her Cd's?

  • @79mojorisin Put them on FIIIIIRRRREEE!!!!!

  • @Rhidalgo789 Burn Katy Pery Burn BUUUURNNNNN

  • @Rhidalgo789 LOVE IT!!!

  • @79mojorisin have a doors part and throw her tuurrible cds in the bbq,

  • @79mojorisin that would be wrong. just re write the cd with the doors. much easier.

  • @79mojorisin yes, it's wrong. Get a trip with her and she will understand the lyrics and the music of the doors..... and the she will love it!

  • @79mojorisin that is too funny my friend.go ahead throw 'em in the fire...

  • @79mojorisin nope your actually a good dad

  • @79mojorisin my parents forced me to listen to church music until i was 13 i gave them the finger and went out on my own

  • @79mojorisin no, repalce them with 'The Doors" cds say a burgler took her Katy Perry cds and Replaced them with The doors lol

  • @79mojorisin Replace them with Doors and Hendrix and Joplin and tell her that her cds evolved into higher lifeforms.

  • @79mojorisin Yes it is. She should have the freedom to choose to listne to whatever she wants to. You're a terrible father.

  • @DimebagJim420 your an ass for judging his whole being on 1 simple harmless action.

  • @RollingRiffs Which is taking his daughters freedom away from her. Yeah, simple, harmless action.

  • @DimebagJim420 My jokes are for people smart enough to what a joke is. Genious.

  • @79mojorisin Naturally enough, there is no morality. Go ahead.

By the way, at the most, there is civility, as well as classiness. And, Katy Perry, in a broad, overall, cohesive enough sense is lacking in classiness; especially in direct (or indirect) comparison to, say, The Doors.

  • @79mojorisin loosing katy perry,found the doors,and jimmy hendrix?

  • @79mojorisin I have never met someone my age that listens to the doors (I,m 14) so you shouldn't worry. But it's oke to 'lose' them =)

  • @79mojorisin lose her.

  • @79mojorisin not at all man; im thirteen and i love this music.

  • @79mojorisin

The real moral question is how would you live with yourself if you didn't?

  • @79mojorisin

She'll grow out of that phase.

  • @79mojorisin you will do that, if you love her! :|

  • @79mojorisin burn em while yelling this is the enddd ,beautiful frieend!

  • @79mojorisin You could always kill her.

  • @79mojorisin ..he he, the real question is, is it Morally right NOT to "lose" them? maybe try a little bit of Yellow Submarine on her, that's always good for the little ones..;-)

  • Comment removed

  • @79mojorisin Just watch Lenon Honor

  • I have a folk collection that has a song with a line about a "pretty little girl with a red dress on." It's called "Old Joe Bone" and it's performed by the New Lost City Ramblers who played pre-blue grass hillbilly music if you'll pardon my use of hillbilly. I've only realized over the last two or three years that the Doors blended divergent music styles into their songs.

  • Robby Krieger sounds like he inhaled helium, lol.

  • I CAN HAS ACID ??

  • @13almazan666 by the looks of your comment your were obviously tripping balls. how was it?

  • @SKAuthenticDank no, sorry i'm not gay pal, why do you ask, are you looking for someone to ram you in the poop shoot again?

  • listen to james on that bass... elvis' bass player...

  • @thepofmeister he also played bass on L.A woman.but you probably know that

  • Why am i first hearing this now? It's an awesome song! So very underrated

  • I love it, but the part with the redneck and banjo is painful to listen through.

  • Poor Otis Redding

  • what an amazing song...

  • This song was so awesome my speakers broke, literally.... now I have to go get new ones! :/

  • Nice tribute to Otis Redding.

  • @TheLizardKing95 you dont deserve the name lizardking!!!!!!

  • @TheLizardKing95 yes she does, your point is?

  • @Br0sB4THeH0e His point is that The Doors should have more views than Lady Gaga, frodo.

  • @DxMetalheadGamerxD i was just saying he should be more specific, because people can interpret things many different ways

  • @Br0sB4THeH0e It's not rocket science to understand what he meant by that.

  • @TheLizardKing95 thats cuz people dont know what real music is. lol.

  • @TheLizardKing95 jajaja amiga, no tienes cerebro

  • @TheLizardKing95 Well mister, you watchen gaga and all makes me think, You just don't belong in here anyway...

  • @TheLizardKing95 i think this was a comment of disbelief not a like for lady cockmunch

  • Bob Dylan is so awesome like The Doors

  • @JimMorrisonBigFan It's a pity Bob and Jim never hooked up

  • Robby sounds real good on the chorus :)

  • you all know what i realized if everyone would just shut the fuck up no one will get buthurt

  • Einfach nur geile Musik!!!

  • Haha, the chorus sounds like a Bob Dylan parody indeed. A bit like Zappa in 'Flakes'...;-)

    'Wanna buy some mandies Bob?'

  • I-i-i-i love it *_*

  • Was that bob Dylan singing too?!

  • @QW5ub255bW91cw yes

  • @QW5ub255bW91cw

    No, it´s robby krieger

  • 4 people got the Runnin Blues..

  • Very TRUE... one of the BEST and most underrated for sure!!

  • This, and Waiting for the Sun, is one of the most under produced albums.

  • once of the best singers in rock '& roll. period.

  • Amazing funky guitar !

  • No idea why that chorus is there, but it's awesome. And it's funny how Krieger wrote so many songs, yet he only sings in one,and just the chorus.

  • awesome song !

  • greatest song ever

  • This song is about Otis Redding, who wrote & recorded "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay". Otis was one of the great, black blues singers, back in the day when being black was just barely acceptable. Dock was written by Otis Redding & Steve Cropper. Two of the greatest musicians who ever lived. It's a classic that the head-banging, hip-hop, rap talkers of today could learn some lessons from.

  • Great music

  • trikrat jim jim jim huraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Yes, Robbie sings the chorus...

  • @Rhidalgo789 robbie sings a bit like dylan

  • got to be 1 of the best tunes av heard

  • @wullmccorm

  • I would say the cowsills are the hippie band...

  • Happy B-Day Jim!

  • Damn robby sounds SO much like Bob Dylan. fuck such a underrated song, one of my favorites. Goddamn I love The Doors..

  • @LZStairway I was just thinking that too haha. Very Dylanesque. Thats probably why they had him sing part of it, because the song is also very Dylanesque

  • THIS! ...is what people love about the doors, pure awesomeness!!!

  • jims delivery is so punchy. best shit

  • pure The Doors!

  • RUNNIN BLUEEEEEE

  • this is honestly my favorite doors album ever!!

  • Одна из моих любимых песен :)

  • i got the runnin blues. gotta put on my runnin shoes. and go buy me some tasty booze!!!!!

  • @MrSchmuchface HAHAHAA! Love it! I shall do the same!!! :D

  • MILUJU doors e JIM furt zije

  • @smys85 To víííš

  • The Doors goin' country? anyways, fun song.

  • @Azargled The Doors are VERY rockabilly...

  • Robbies part is so lame. Mr. Mojo risin could have wrote some better lyrics to go with his parts.

  • @bluffed12 Robbie wrote this entire song. He wrote alot of their material like Light My Fire.

  • @bluffed12 Much contrary to popular belief, Robbie Krieger wrote the majority of the Doors' lyrics. Jim was their driving force, but he was too unreliable in the long-run.

  • has anyone heard a live version of this?

  • 3 ppl. are deaf, dumb and blind

  • This album is so underated and so amazing

  • POOR OTIS DEAD AND GONE

LEFT ME HERE TO SING HIS SONG

  • @Alwaystuned A TERRIBLY UNDERRATED SONG! its one of their better songs, very complex in the weaving of all the diff instruments making for a wonder up-beat song.
