The multi touch table is actually pretty simple to re-create. I've even created two of these multi touch tables myself using only a webcam and some acrylic to use as the surface. Selling these for 5-10k is ridiculous. If I can make one in less than a week then surely it can't be worth that much. All you're really paying for is the softwaare which is just Microsoft branded (on the MS Surface Computer).
After posting this video almost two years ago I've come back to read all your comments.
The MultiTouch table concept has been around for many years. Long, long before Microsoft or Apple had even discovered it. Microsoft absolutely did NOT make the multi touch surface, they just bought the patent from another company.
Microsoft have now created the 'Surface' computer using this patent. To all you PC fans out there, Microsoft did NOT create this.
I think being able to use a MultiTouch device as a table would be cool. But instead of making a whole computer a table I think it would be better to have a MultiTouch Mac that could simply power a Table Based MultiTouch Display. Of course the key is to have a good user interface for control. There has to be a very adaptive and scalable user-interface system setup to provide that control in an intuitive and easy to use way. Very intriguing , innovative indeed , though it is just a beginning, in near future every thing of our daily life like NAPKIN, CUP, MUG, Flux would be transformed in to PC . see to believe it
you're so stupid
