I think the most unique thing about Denmark is that we have nothing to fear! We have no extreme heat or cold, no extreme winds, no major earthquakes, no volcanos, no mountains... But at least it rains nearly 50% of the year! We don't even have a propper river so we can get major floods... I love my country, but couldn't we at least have a mountain so we could go skeeing without having to visit Sweden or Norway or those lame indoor places... I can deal with the danger of avalanches!

@podshowdk The difference is that you CHOOSE to drink and use drugs, you don't choose to have floods, vulcanic eruptions, earthquakes and so on. So people like me that don't use drugs or drink (much!) are among the safest in the world. There are of course extremes in every country, America has a few states that look a bit like Denmark, and vice versa.

@podshowdk I meant that we are pretty safe from external threats, not the internal. My original point were things that hits large parts of the country, not a single person. So i don't see why i should fear people who drinks booze or uses drugs, mostly it only affects themselves. Fear comes in many forms, so if we only have to fear eachother, and not the weather or the ground we stand on, i would say that we are pretty safe... We have fear, it's just has fewer sources

@skynet091287 Danes are OBSESSED with safety. I lived there 12 years. I have never seen a people who talk so much about security and safety. Look at the whole welfare system...it is created to make everyone safe. I found it very claustrophobic in the end...and I think a lot of Danes do too...thus the high rate of alcoholism and suicide. Just my opinion from my observations.

I didn't enjoy this video. I think it would have been far better to at least use part of the video to communicate things about Denmark so people can be more informed, rather than use the entire video to ask people who know nothing about it. How is that creating a good video? Plus video taping someone smoking weed casually as if it's acceptable. The video did not make a good impression.

You might get higher payment. But the stuff in scandinavia is MUCH more expensive than in USA.
What you call purchasting power or buying power is much greater still of USA than in Scandinavia. There is also less of tax in USA compared to scandinavia.
FOr a average worker it's much easier to be american. But for a educated man they get payed much more than the scandinavian.
BTW i'm not an american i'm from Faroe Islands. But USA is better.
@turbofritz2 Mind if I point out that USA is near the size of a continent, additionally, Denmark is a Welfare State, so there is need for higher taxes in order to pay for the public services that the government provides for its citizens (Which is a large contributor to the tax difference between USA and DK).

Danes aren't different from all the other western countries in that regard. The "talent" shows exist in all the other countries as well.
Denmark is a small country though, so obviously our subcultures are tiny compared to a country like Germany that has 85 (ish) million people. That's not the fault of Denmark as a country or the Danes as a people though. It's simply about math. If a subculture is 1% of the pop. it makes a huge difference if you have 5.6 or 85 million people. ;)

And they are cheap. Last weekend i got a cup of coffe for 10 kr. It's less than 2 bucks.

@podshowdk I meant that we are pretty safe from external threats, not the internal. My original point were things that hits large parts of the country, not a single person. So i don't see why i should fear people who drinks booze or uses drugs, mostly it only affects themselves. Fear comes in many forms, so if we only have to fear eachother, and not the weather or the ground we stand on, i would say that we are pretty safe... We have fear, it's just has fewer sources

@skynet091287 Danes are OBSESSED with safety. I lived there 12 years. I have never seen a people who talk so much about security and safety. Look at the whole welfare system...it is created to make everyone safe. I found it very claustrophobic in the end...and I think a lot of Danes do too...thus the high rate of alcoholism and suicide. Just my opinion from my observations.

I didn't enjoy this video. I think it would have been far better to at least use part of the video to communicate things about Denmark so people can be more informed, rather than use the entire video to ask people who know nothing about it. How is that creating a good video? Plus video taping someone smoking weed casually as if it's acceptable. The video did not make a good impression.

Also... the danish hotdog is quite special. Neither beer or hotdogs are danish inventions but the danish hotdog is "known" cause of how it's made. I also think DK is known for its openminded view on drinking. So Lenny is not that far off in my opinion.

You might get higher payment. But the stuff in scandinavia is MUCH more expensive than in USA.
What you call purchasting power or buying power is much greater still of USA than in Scandinavia. There is also less of tax in USA compared to scandinavia.
FOr a average worker it's much easier to be american. But for a educated man they get payed much more than the scandinavian.
BTW i'm not an american i'm from Faroe Islands. But USA is better.

Danes aren't different from all the other western countries in that regard. The "talent" shows exist in all the other countries as well.
Denmark is a small country though, so obviously our subcultures are tiny compared to a country like Germany that has 85 (ish) million people. That's not the fault of Denmark as a country or the Danes as a people though. It's simply about math. If a subculture is 1% of the pop. it makes a huge difference if you have 5.6 or 85 million people. ;)
