Yes, you're right. Gail Cooper stated to have seen this man, allegedly in three different instances in April before Madeleine's disappearance. This woman gave her statement to the PJ, which was discard after a proper police investigation. The News was picked up again by N.O.T.W. tabloid afeter 9 months. It's illegal in Portugal to spin without a true basis. Hopefully C. Mitchell will see some days in Jail.

It is normal for a mother to send her child shopping. According to the daily behaviour patterns, it cannot be said that the parents abandoned Mari Luz. That space is the community's territory. Maddie and her siblings were abandoned by their parents, in a foreign country, in a quality resort but, due to their short stay, that was strange to them and to their children.
