  • I think this is fucking amazing

  • remind anyone else of willy wonka?

  • This should available to the public. Besides seeing one on eBay for eye candy for $600.

  • Jack I love ya, but that really is a mongy idea :P

  • Im 15 and I use vinyl! not cds

  • @TheRockandroll420

    you are so special !

  • whats the song at the start?

  • what's the opening song, its been stuck in my head all day and is driving me mad not knowing what it is.

  • @JoshuaRFox nevermind, i got it, its I Just Want To Make Love To You.

  • I love him

  • Who buys vinyl records anymore? It can't be that many, can it.

  • @Zeetana1 I do. And so do alot of other people. Mainly it's more tangible people

  • @Zeetana1 Vinyl its back, not only the Third Man records artist use Vinyl, many other bands like radiohead use it, because it looks badass and the sound quality is better

  • @ryumishima44 Sound quality better? I wouldn't have thought that when you think of the noise old vinyl records got.

  • @Zeetana1 The vinyl get the scratches faster than CD, but in the right hands it last for a long time... Grab a vinyl record, give it a decent polish and check out....

  • @Zeetana1 Depends if you want better as in more polished, clean and sounds narrow. Or better as wider, richer and warmer. Once you got black (vinyl) you never go back. CD's are cheap to manufacture, that's the only plus side of them and why we use them. That's why downloads are being used more, cost saving. You always get more with an LP.

  • @Zeetana1 on the contrary, vinyl has never left, and is making one huge-ass amazing comeback. But hey, if you like mediocre quality, just stick with your digital and mp3, we who buy vinyl will be just one step ahead ;)

  • @oldsoulzeppelingirl seriously? dont be closed-minded now

  • @aeronirvanazeppelin haha dont worry chap, tis all in good fun, i have plenty of cds too

  • @Zeetana1 every mainstream artist releases on vinyl. it's mainly more popular with the indie rock and punk crowd. take good care of it and it sounds great forever. less harsh than cps and warmer, better. i've been listening to vinyl since i was a kid in the 80's and i started collecting in college.

  • whats the first song?

  • i accidentally acquired the vinyl of the live songs in the beginning haha, theyre great

  • Nikola Tesla at 0:24 :D

  • Jack White's amazing. :)

  • are you kidding me?

  • What's the music that plays at beginning (with the electronic beat)?

  • whats the song and artist of that glow-in-the-dark 45?!

  • it's quite possible that i'm your third man girl..

  • But why!?! I don't want to ruin such a masterpiece!

  • am i the only one who notice that the song was still playing even though jack took the needle off the record? 1:11

  • @funnyrocker13 haha no i realized that too...i just figured he has a magic touch and music is constantly surrounding him...

  • @funnyrocker13 the trurntable wasn't playing the record, JACK WAS !

  • @funnyrocker13

    Who

    Gives

    A

    Fuck

    ?

  • @funnyrocker13 i have a friend whos turn table does this. the sound seems to be delayed by about 3/4ths of a second.

  • Colbert Bump

  • So legit!

  • Genious

  • I find myself replaying and replaying him cracking it open. Such an oddly satisfying sound

  • Comment removed

  • wait, you can put the 12inch back together right? otherwise...that seems kinda dumb...

  • @TaffyRaphie unfortunately (imo) you can put it back together and it plays normally. I was much more tickled by the idea that if you were lucky enough to find a copy you were faced with the dilemma of whether to crack it open and destroy the rare collector's item to hear the hidden track, break open pandora's box if you will, or to keep it precious. delicious

  • LOL the ironic thing to me was when he took out the lil black thing on the 12 inch and put it on and played it and said "but you can't hear it", so that means you ripped it out for nothin. lol.

  • @santanaincubus are you serious?

  • Jack puts vinyl in the 21st century

  • There is such a between listening to an album that you downloaded for free or payed for. Dont get me wrong, I'm guilty, like most of us, but if you payed for it then you have more of an obligation to listen to it intently, even if it ends up sucking you still get more of an expierence than just casually listening to it in your car.

  • I'm sure they switched Jack out with Jonny Depp and did a voice over in this clip! Damn, they look a like!

  • Way better than iTunes bonus tracks!

  • Whats the song playing as they go through the various vinyls? from 0:00 up till about 0:35.

  • @neilbdesign

No Hassle Night/I just want to Make Love to You (Live)

  • Ok Jack White is my hero

  • hes so uncomfortable its comical

  • These guys make me feel guilty every time i listen to a mp3...

and i'm grateful for that :)

  • OMG i wish Jack wasn't married

...Don't get me wrong Karen seems likes a nice lady

...BUT i would like to have Jack White

  • haha

  • Nice how everything in the dissplay case under the record player has "NFS" on it, or Not For Sale. A storefront full of sold out limited merch. Nice One.

  • Seek and you will find Nikola Tesla ^

  • THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!

  • Jason Stollsteimer missed the up botton

  • Whats cooler than cool? Ice Cold! Thats ice cold. Thats like me telling my wife she can crack these nuts but she has to pay for the 12' c---! Neh great marketing and what a collectors item. Pretty cool!

  • 'Inside is another 7 inch with an unreleased song *places on record player* but... you cant hear it >:) lol XD

  • Does anybody know what turntable he uses? I mean - firm and name of product.

  • but.... when you crack open the lp, don't you break the 12" lp?

  • @KAKproducties of course you break it! making the record even more rare than the 7" inside because in 10 years 250 idiots will have broken open the record and a solid triple decker will be harder than hell to find. kinda like the beatles butcher cover, lots of people tried to rip off the paste over, in turn ruining the whole record. Anyway, that 7" is gonna be more common than the complete triple decker, so KEEP IT TOGETHER! You might be able to put a down payment on a house someday

  • YOU A FOOL FOR THIS ONE JACK!!

  • jack white with normal facial hair?? whats the world comin to???

  • haha i love the look jack gives the camera at 1:05. like hes saying "sounds good doesnt it?"

  • YO DAWG, WE HEARD YOU LIKE RECORDS, SO WE PUT A RECORD IN YO RECORD SO YOU CAN LISTEN WHILE YOU LISTEN!

  • Please does anyone know where I can buy this hdiden 7inch record??

  • i fucking hate third man records. great music but all done for a profit

  • @dirtycoffee22 how is a label supposed to afford to do future records if they dont make a profit?

  • @JamesGarvey i know i know you have a good point. but the whole "exclusiveness" of these records is kind of annoying. i ordered the 12" single bc i hoped i would get the triple decker record, but of course i didn't. there i just paid 10 bucks for songs i already bought when sea of cowards came out. it's kind of a cheap trick that's all

  • @dirtycoffee22 I ordered one and got the triple decker. It's almost opened enough for me to get the 7" out. I have been too nervous to crack it open the rest of the way.

  • @dirtycoffee22 a profit but you get fucking amazing things for your money

  • Listen "I Feel Strange" here: /watch?v=nP5lg2UrqwQ

  • This might be random but what kinda hat is Jack wearing?

  • @Timeconsumer9

a fedora with the brim flattend

  • Praise be to Jack White, he's one of the only fuckers around keeping vinyl alive.

  • What is the song at the beginning?

  • i dont even get it

you get the 7 inch yet it dosnt work unless its in the 12 inch yet the hidden song isnt on the 12 inch? so bassically there is no hidden song just the 7 inch with nothing on it?

  • @wolfeman323232 The 7" won't play unless you break open the 12" and take it out. After which the 7" will play (as the grooves are now exposed) and the 12" will now act as a case for the 7". It's not really clear yet if the 12" will play after you crack it open.

  • @Thevalleyoftar i got it now :) can this be purchased in stores??

  • @Thevalleyoftar It will still play

  • @wolfeman323232 Nah, what he's saying is unless you buy the record, you can't hear the song. Think of it as "You can look at it, but not touch it ... unless you pay".

  • @Cydonia170 lol yeh i gfot it now :P but before i was very confused :)

  • IVE BEEN IN THAT STORE!!!

  • i like jacks creativity with vinyls, like the tri colored vinyls, and the texas size vinyls and a fucking mini vinyl inside of a vinyl that you have to tear open to get... i might gotta do some of that...

  • What, oh what is the song that intro's Jack?

  • @monya7 That is one of the songs on the B-side of the 12 inch single. It's a cover called "I Just Want to Make Love to You" . Look it up. I'm pretty sure.

  • I hate that "But . . ."

  • I've got one of dem dere! got it in the mail today!

  • Listen to it: /watch?v=3ayATpkAhdQ

The "hidden track" is called "I Feel Strange" - on the b-side of the 7" is "Rolling in on a Burning Tire" from the Twilight Eclipse Soundtrack.

Don't listen, if you don't want to spoil it for yourself ... but srsly ... you want to listen ... its great!

Thumbs up so ppl can find the link easier. greetings

  • he broke the 12 inch and i dont mean open, he broke it in half! i guess u'd need to get 2 of those one to break and one to save..

  • @chrissssy that's not how vinyl works...

  • i like it.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song on the 7"?

  • This has a strange feeling to it, that you have to destroy something to get to the core. Real fun metaphors in this.

  • I HAVE TO KNOW THE SONG

  • Excellent!!! I want this f***

  • Whats the name of the song on the 7 inch?

  • Ummmm... So we have to break the 12" that we just bought to get to the 7"? No thanks, I'll just buy the twelve inch and wait to download the song that's on the friggin' 7 inch.

  • @ransommmmm No, you can put the two pieces of the 12" back together.

  • @Mysterical01 Haha oh, okay I see.

  • @ransommmmm Fuck digital, stay analog!

  • menuda gilipollez

  • Hey....If I crack open the 12 inch to get to the 7 inch...the 12 inch doesn't die does it?

  • Pretty cool and innovative. I actually bought an album through iTunes for the first time last week. It sucked. It completely lacked the emotion of going to a store and sorting through records or CDs. Long live vinyl!

  • ohhhh JACK

  • What was the B side?! :P

  • @kmaroney That's the B-side to the single, "No Hassle Night/ I Just Want To Make Love To You"

  • @Jokertt14 They were $30. I disagree. If they put them online a higher percentage would be flipped. Scalpers from across the country would buy them up, and put them on eBay. With them releasing them only at Third Man, everyone has an equal chance to get down there early.

  • @dallasworley people that live in say, Ohio do NOT have a chance to get these. I wish he'd sell them online. Because the assholes that do live near THrid Man have them on Ebay for over 400 bucks!

  • How much were they at third man . cause eBay is just killing it .

wost idea every as far as marketing . why keep making the poor people in Nashville rich . i don't get it . Very stupid idea of how they sell shit .

  • What kind of record player is that?

  • EPIC

  • simply amazing

  • This is the most innovative idea in record packaging since the gatefold. Long live vinyl!!

  • Jack White is music's Willy Wonka

  • @VictoriaC0sta That is SO true! I've never thought about that, hope you don't mind me stealing that little sentance ;)

  • @LJohander haha no problem ;)

  • @VictoriaC0sta Couldn't have put it better myself

  • @VictoriaC0sta whats funny about that is Jack White is going to be playing the on Broadway adaptation of Tim Burton's Edward scissor hands next summer

  • @jonathonfizdiz Where'd you hear that from? I would really love to read the article!

  • I thought about keeping mine in tact, but I'm getting ready to crack mine open and hear the new song. I was number 99 in line yesterday. #win

  • @dallasworley how much were they at the store . thanks todd

  • @dallasworley whats the song called i must know!

  • @fumblinontheivory i feel strange..it's already on youtube.

  • It does reseal.... and the bonus track blow my mind, just thought yall should know...:)

  • @jamesmonzon1 what is it!!!????

  • @jamesmonzon1 whats it called?

  • Jack White isn't the God of Rock... he's the Chuck Norris of Rock.

  • did anyone notice @1:12 that when he takes the needle off the 12'' the music doesn't stop?

  • @dynamitedigums yeah that was weird.

  • @dynamitedigums I was just about to say that... haha

  • Comment removed

  • I could see myself accidentally breaking the whole record just trying to get the 12" cracked open

  • I LL JUST LOOK FOR ON YOUTUBE

  • I would do horrible, sick things to get my hands on one of these.

  • Cool stuff. You can't roll a joint on a digital single, so theres always room for interesting vinyl records like this.

  • Vinyl finally has it's own version of the "turducken"!

  • Wow! It's the vinyl version of the "turducken"!

  • Love the idea,,,,, I'll never get to hear the track ,,, but this is soooo cool. well done Jack!

  • What will Whitey Wonka think up next...

  • AMAZING.

  • this is the greatest idea, very innovated. I need to get this title and LP into our distribution.

  • It looks like you can still play the two 12" halves - they didn't break when he opened the 12" up....You end up with three discs and it looks like - IF YOU ARE CAREFUL OPENING TH E 12" - they can all still be played.

  • question: does the bigger vinyl still function when you break it open?

  • @shockzrock You dont listen to vinyl do you? thought not.

  • @1:04 Jack gave us a very Snoop look. *melts* Do it again, Jack ;D

  • An entirely necessary hand motion at 1:17. You don't HAVE to be theatrical to be a good musician. Just sayin'.

  • if you break open the 7 inch there is probably a cd inside.

  • @UhhSplat and if you break open the cd, thers a flash drive

  • @sombreropinata and if you break the flash drive there's a leprechaun

  • but when you break the first part you can hear anymore?

in that case, you have buy 3 copies, the first for keep vinyl in the collection, the second one, for listen the first theme, and the third, for listen the inside

  • @nirvanalive4ever Jack white has an obsession with the number three. Hence 3rd man records and the (3) Triple decker record. Yes. he wants you to buy 3 copies. Genius isn't it?

  • @AaronTheSeig really smart, A man of Business

  • You have to ruin the record to get to the single? That's lame.

  • keep it VERY VINYL !!!!!!!

  • YESSS!!! the moustache is back :{o-

  • They should definitely release the song in the beginning it's so fucking cool

  • It would be nice if the records were actually mastered in the traditional fashion, rather than just taking the heavily limited CD version and tweaking it to work on vinyl (in the case of commercial releases). Thanks TMR.

  • JACK YOUR SUCH A TEASE!

  • The intro song is The Dead Weather's No Hassle Night/I Just Want To Make Love To You live cover.

It may not be live on the vinyl, but that's how they played it live when I saw them.

    Quite innovative I must say

  • i want one!

  • what was that song in the beginning!? it was delicious

  • i'm likin the beard he's rocking.

  • How does the 12" sound after open heart surgery?
