Truely incredible; I can;t say enough about your playing, however, I am right on your heels; I'm just wondering how much longer it will take me to get there? Keep up the Good Work, and I can't wait to see you in person. Bose Branham

  • @prutad1 right...they´ve got years to practice at home and they keep playing while he´s speaking...lucky Tommy is such an incredible man...I would kick their asses :-D

  • And on the 8th day Tommy said let us elevate harmonics to a completely unreachable location, and it was good.

This came to him in a dream? I can never compete with that.

  • in a dream, incredible!! i think god spoke to him in this dream. afterwards tommy parted the seas with his guitar, as if the waves backed off cause they feared his magic playing:)

  • want a cookie?

  • lol

  • True, but nothing is anyone's "own work" entirely. The chromatic scale, six strings on a guitar, and the english language are all ideas derived from other people. Einstein wouldn't have relativity if it weren't for Galileo but the guy was certainly a genius. Sorry if that sounded like I was being a smart a** I just think that statement was a little overgeneralized towards what constitutes a genius.

  • Second time listening, isn't that the pentatonic scale?

  • When? The first part? I mean, he plays portions of the pentatonic scale in different keys throughout the video, but for the most part he's just applying the harmonics technique over a variety of chord shapes. I'm not sure what you're asking exactly though. Are you saying this is the second time for you to listen to the audio in this video and during this second listen you sensed the pentatonic scale was being used? If so, specifiy the section of the video and maybe I can tell you if it was.

  • When hes just doing open strings and their octaves: He plays E G A B D E. could this be hint of origin of pentatonic scale? Also the black keys on a piano i found out but interesting.

  • Dont matter if some one had already done it before over the other side of the world. Maybe he figured that himself..

  • If you're implying that the pentatonic scale derived from people playing guitar, then you're sadly mistaken as the Pentatonic scale has Eastern Instrumental Origins.

  • he is actually god

  • thanks so much!

  • It was at McGill university the first of july. I was there and it's was a marvelous Worshop, great souvenir, great moment and great show at Concordia!!!
