@trinityct Definitely. I don't know when it happened, but it's been at least 7 or 8 years, if not longer. I was first in Baring in 2002 and the cross has always been there. Up the line in Gorin there's another one at their crossing, too.
Andybowe, you are correct. Much of the AZ and NM divisions on the transcon are good for 90 MPH. So was (still?) much of the jointed track on the ATSF toward La Junta across KS and CO. Great to ride on the old Super Chief.
is it also 90mph with ATS in NM and AZ too not just the Marceline SUb between Ft Madision IA and KC? its too bad the hotbox dectors don't say Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway at Barring Mo with the train speed, at least they retaine the EX ATSF fast talking DS desks the EX BN channels sound different with two to three tone bursts not a single tone Burst for dispatcher calls, thats the old ATSF for ya yeah baby!!! I am a huge railfan of BNSF amd NS and CSX and am a railroad historian too
Awesome capture from beginning to end!

Fun fact: from the start of the video to when #4 is in the crossing (45 seconds), she goes one full mile. That is quick!

Has anyone else noticed the cross with flowers at the beginning of the video? Was there an accident at that railroad crossing?

What is the high speed of genesis?Great video;)

P40's: 103 MPH
P42's: 110 MPH
If tracks around the country were upgraded even these existing Amtrak trains could go a lot faster than in this video!

@EverywhereWest how fast can superliners go?

The trackage in the southwest could be 90 as well but I'm not sure. I'm really only famaliar with speeds around here, but I wouldn't be surprised!
