And gitfiddlejim1, it is most definitely the one and only Robert Lockwood playing the sweet- yet-dirty fills on guitar, alongside either his protege Luther Tucker, or Dave Myers: no-one knows for sure, as Myers left the band around the time of this recording.
Ther's another star on this recording, as well as the band: it is the legendary Bill Putnam, one of the great recording engineers of that era. It is he who sends the harp into feedback. Great stuff!
In the late 1950s, "Blue Light" was the theme song for DJ Sam Evan's "Blue Light Hour" on radio station WGES coming from the south side of Chicago. That was my introduction to the wonderful world of Chicago Blues! Chess, Checker, VeeJay, Cobra, etc.
Great stuff man! I got turned on to the blues reading Teen Magazine and hearing what the British Invasion bands were listening to. Muddy Waters, Slim Harpo, Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker.... Thanks for posting this.

This recording also has some great guitar work. Anybody know who played on the record?

@spyguys Could be Robert Lockwood, or one of the Myers brothers, who were his Aces.

Thanks for this! It's wondrous to hear it. I have it on CD but don't play it often enough. It's a masterpiece.
What a record - the other side of it is You Better Watch Yourself, another fantastic performance. Little Walter is The Man!
Best wishes from the U.K.
