  • Enjoyable set of views.

  • Another well-shot and well thought out and entertaining vid. Well done that man! The last time we took a trip here was the day England was knocked out of the world cup (2006) Riding up and down behind 'Black Prince', drinking beer in the buffet was much more entertaining I can tell you. Now let's see; when are England playing...?

  • @4beatlefans

Thanks. Not as much variety as I would have hoped for due to circumstances. I remember that depressing day when young Mr Rooney got himself sent off as England were doing well against Portugal. Unfortunately you can afford to take a large bet that they will screw up at a crucial stage (especially if games are decided on penalties).

  • @steamontheweb My point was that I couldn't give a monkey's when England are playing!! Seeing wonderful vids like yours should make everyone realise that there is more to life than watching a load of over-paid nancy-boys with girlie hair-cuts kicking a bladder of wind about. Oh, by the way, did I say I'm not a football fan? (hehehe!) Keep up with the good work on the vids - thankyou.

  • @4beatlefans

I wouldn't call them nancy boys. Many of them remind me of the shaved-headed blokes with big tattooed forearms that you seen wandering about in city centres during the evenings.

  • @steamontheweb

Well, we didn't need to worry about penalties as it turned out.

    :-/

  • @AndreiTupolev

I think they were all exhausted after their gargantuan efforts in qualifying from a really tough group!

  • Another 5* video Mike. I didn't enjoy this gala myself, I went on Saturday and had a couple of unpleasent experiences. 1st at Toddington being told I must buy a ticket to travel before I could obtain a Lineside Pass which eventually I avoided through whipping out my GCR work permit, why that made a difference I don't know?!? 2nd the classic I can stand in front of you because I've got a pass and your on the lineside moment at Chicken Curve even thou all at the Curve had a pass anyway! RANT OVER!

  • @aifrench14 Thanks. I am sorry to hear of your troubles. We realised there were site charges, and steered clear of Toddington. These charges may turn some casual visitors off. Much better to charge a smaller sum like the GCR and then deduct this from the ticket price. Unfortunately there will always be inconsiderate types.

  • smashing video ther, 5*. What camera do you use, as im considering getting a new one?

  • @7P46115

Thanks. I use a Sony Z5, which is well over-specified for what I do.

  • Excellent work Mike, great coverage. Lovely shots of 5322 working hard, it would be nice if she could stretch her legs more often

  • @acw71000

Thanks Austin. Totally agree with the latter sentiment.

  • 5*! 5322 is brilliant isn't she!

  • @KWVRMAD

Thanks. She is beautiful. I hope we see more of her in the coming years.

  • this looks b***y great - widescreen - at last!! 5***** (sorry if you've been doing this a while Mike - been busy and first one I've seen). Really great composition.

  • @railwaychannel

Thanks Mark. I bought a new PC which could handle HD and started to produce them from mid-April. Astonished that HD footage has less pixels than SD! Hope you are ok; glad to hear you are busy!

  • Must be the hardest work 5322's had to do since it was withdrawn by BR.That's no light weight it had there; seven coaches plus Truro on the back.

  • @AndreiTupolev

It is quite a powerful engine. It will be able to go back to Didcot for a good rest after the event, although one can always hope it is released from time to time to visit other railways.

  • Loved it! 5*

Love to go to this Rly. sometime.

    Cheers

  • @JacSGWR

Thanks. Yes, you must; it is a very scenic line.

  • Yet more excellent stuff. Many thanks for keeping us amused and delighted. Have to agree with you about the 43XX: although I'm far from a GW fan, I fell for those machines way back when they used to work the Taunton-Barnstaple line, and remain just as fond of them in preservation.

  • @20Norton

Thanks. Given that it is a Didcot-based loco I do not anticipate seeing it on a proper line very much in the future.
