@TheBambieyes well, they were going to do the remake originally with "Aaliyah" cast as Sparkle Williams, and even Irene Cara herself said the remake would be quote,"blessed" to have such a beautiful talent grace that character on screen again. But as we all know Aaliyah passed on, and now Sony has given the green light to cast someone else as Sparkle Williams so who knows whats going to happen.

OMG, this is my absolute favorite part of the movie. For me, it was one of the most romantic scenes ever in a film. What makes it even better is to know that they were really singing this song. Philip Michael Thomas-oh I had a big crush on him! Every time Irene Cara hits that note I get chills! All the women in the movie were so beautiful! Truly an iconic movie that has stood the test of time.

This movie is truly a classic, it is timeless, I look at often. Irene also sings Precious Lord better than Areatha,in my opinion. Crystal clear notes and tone. How about Curtis Mayfield, he did write and produce all of the music for this movie. He was a gifted artist,may he RIP.

People dont understand how these actors got beat out of alot of money. This movies grossed over 100 millions which is alot money for that time. This doesnt include DVD , TV etc.......... They were told they were going to do the album. They didnt think it would sell with them.
Pay attention: Men. This how a real man brings out the best in his woman. He didn't go slap her around and start threaten her. Sticks was a bad man (in the good way).
They all can sing but they refused to let them do the album. They didnt think these unknowns would sell records. They gave to Aretha Franklin to do. That wasnt fair to the cast.

This was very romantic. They were the perfect couple. That Irene Cara's voice is awesome. That Philip Michael Thompson is so fine of course. Again this is one of my most favorite movies of all times.

People dont understand how these actors got beat out of alot of money. This movies grossed over 100 millions which is alot money for that time. This doesnt include DVD , TV etc.......... They were told they were going to do the album. They didnt think it would sell with them.

They all can sing but they refused to let them do the album. They didnt think these unknowns would sell records. They gave to Aretha Franklin to do. That wasnt fair to the cast.

I love her initial shyness or trepidation then it was all made better by 'his' nearness & co-singing. The love is palpable in this scene...'acting' my foot! They had to have 'felt' something for one another in that moment--almost forgetting the cameras were rolling. "I know my man he really loves me, we don't get that everyday.."
