When he worries if he will end up in the box or at the prestige it is showing his own ignorance of understanding. They're both the real Angier. He says it himself, 'Not knowing whether I be the man in the box... or in the prestige...' Since the machine is a doubling machine, it produces a clone, exactly the same as the original. You can never distinguish the real from the clone, because they're two identical men.

Also, think of the hats that are multiplied by Tesla's machine. Doesn't the inventor say, 'They're all your hats, Mr. Angier'?
Not that great? From start to finish this film blows my mind away. I can understand someone not liking the film because they are confused, but if that is so then watch the film again! Brilliant performances, great story and plot. When you hear of a movie about magicians, this is not what you think you'll see. But I wouldn't have changed a thing!
@MrScarecrow24 I very much liked the Prestige i thought In many ways it was very well done as you say great acting and plot. I have to say I am a bit tired of people telling me that Nolan's films are had to understand of confusing (Inception) as i believe that the opposite is true. Don't get me wrong I love Nolan's films memento in particular I was trying to placate those who think they are the be all and end all of modern cinema.
I agree with you, I don't think Christopher Nolan's films are at all confusing! I only meant that people THINKING it is confusing is the only reason I can think of with why they wouldn't like the film! There are other good directors out there, but to me none compare to Mr. Nolan. I myself have not seen Following, Memento or Insomnia, but The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Inception are all masterpieces!

What's interesting is that I guessed how Tesla's machine worked when they first tried the experiment with the hat and yet I didn't see the answer to Bale's trick as incredibly simple as it was. This messes with your mind, man.

Agreed Bale is definitely more of a dick than Jackman. How could you let your own wife, whom he claims he loved, suffer like that? Of course Jackman was the "hero" character, (if you could say there was one in this movie), but in the end he let his vengeance change his gentile nature by "getting his hands dirty" as Bale suggested. But you know, if you really do "watch closely" in this film, you could have the thing figured out before the end, though its still fun being surprised

@divagirlh20 woww, you really should watch it, it is one of the best movies ever. It is available on youtube, just give it a search. It was nominated for 7 oscars and won for best writing. Great film, it should have beaten braveheart for best picture imo
