  • when headphones are plugged into my nano 5g it plays out loud and barely in the headphones and if you try to listen to radio on it, it says connect headphones even if there in, but i cant take it apart because the screws are stripped on bottom

  • You need to do the what he did from last step to first step to put you'r 5th gen iPod nano back together i need to take mine apart because it's got dust inside the dock connecter hole that's making the headphone jack sound bad and also making the internal speaker sound muff-old

  • @screamingpunkkid - Follow the steps in reverse.

  • My ipod(the one in this video) only plays through the speakers even when the headphones are plugged in it plays through both, can someone please help me? This is getting really annoyong

  • @LakeEffectKidTV how can you hear a white noise??

  • i have a 16gb ipod nano 5th generation and the charging port is broken like half of it is missing could i repair this and if so where can i get the parts

  • @Tobyj2010 - You'll likely have to replace the logic board to fix the issue which may run just as expensive as a replacement unit. We sell replacement parts at our website.

  • Thanks, I'm gonna hack mine and add a 1 tb sdxc card for mass amounts of music.

  • my ipod wont stay put together any suggestions?

  • BE EXTREMELY CAREFULL WHEN TAKING THE WHEEL OFF!!!, when i took mine off the metal "board" didnt come with it and i spun the razor around and cutt off the little plastic pieces that hold the plastic on the metal and now it wont go back on!!!!!

  • something happened. it totally stopped working after i got the wheel off, now it wont power on. any ideas?

  • Once you've taken it apart, does it go back together with just the parts you have? Or do you need any adhesive?

  • @tipoomaster -It should go back together without the need for additional items

  • @PowerbookMedic

Thanks...I got the top and bottom parts off as well as the camera bezel, the screen, and the scroll wheel, but I can't slide it out. I guess the dent in the back is pressing the battery/screen too tight. Any advice, or am I pretty much boned?

  • @tipoomaster - At that point you may want to take it to a professional. It sounds like the dent may be giving you problems.

  • Long story short, someone dented the back of my Nano (same model). It still plays songs on shuffle and apears to function normally, other than that nothing is displayed other than a white screen. I'm guessing maybe a video connector or something came off? Any ideas how to fix it? Its only months old so this really sucks. Any help would be great.

  • @tipoomaster - It's likely the screen that needs to be replaced, but it could be the logic board. I'd start by trying to replace the LCD.

  • I need to replace the glass but am unsure of getting the parts to stay in place after reassembly. Do any adhesives need to be reapplied?

    Thanks for the video.

  • dude i am in desprate need of a i pod dissable expert and do u know were some body can fix it.

  • @gooygome45 - You can send it in to us. We have an iPod Send In repair service available. We offer free diagnosis and flat $30 labor to repair.

  • @PowerbookMedic so your saying i can send you 30 dollars just to repair it?

  • @th4Guy77 - The cost is $30 flat labor + part cost, so the final cost depends on what parts you need. If we can't fix it or you don't want to have it fixed, there is no charge.

  • I had put my ipod in the wash but, the sound and everything still works. also the screen works but you can barely see it and to even see it , it must be held at an angle in the light. what should I do?

  • @chocochocobo08 - I'd start by trying a replacement LCD, and if that doesn't work you'll likely need a new logic board.

  • @chocochocobo08 that happened to me also so im gunna try wat he said

  • PLEASE ANSWER!!!! my Ipod plays out my headphones at max when i have volume all the way down. then when i turn up the volume it plays out the headphones and speaker. How do i fix it?

  • @MrMLSman - You likely have an issue with your logic board which would require replacement.

  • i have the same ipod but the light from inside just blink and then its all dark you could see but the light dont turn on

  • you didnt say how to release the lock pin

  • my Menu button has stopped working, I've had this problem on and off since i received it, but only when it was rlly cold, i haven't had the issue for several months and now it as stopped entirely, taking it apart and cleaning out the accumulated dust doesn't seem to have helped : (

  • my ipod got soaked and i tried drying it out and it still doesnt work... should i try to get it repaired or just buy a new one?

  • My suggestion: I just took apart my first ipod. My advice: Don't use a blade to pry stuff off. It may leave scratches and wear. It's much easier to use a guitar pick or even a fingernail - and it will leave the exterior pristine.

Also, be careful of breaking the hold switch cable!

  • My iPod nano went through the wash so hoping that taking it apart will dry it out faster. Thank you. I've got nothing to loose as its not going now.

  • wow i mest up my ipod now -__- mines got washed so i tryed this and for some reason it woulnt come off it was stuck and my lcd screen exploded with the pressure and the screen is messed up now =/

  • i want to replace just the glass screen can i do this straight away without following all the steps you have gone through.

  • i just want to replace the screen, is it possible to remove the screen without having to go through all the stages you did before hand, or if i want to remove the screen would you recommend going through all the steps you have done here. thanks, and good work.

  • i to have the same ipod but when i turn it on its stuck on the hold postion! its really stupid and annoying and you cant even reset the damn thing. how do i fix this?

  • For my iPod, whenever i click video camera, it wont turn on, it'll just freeze, and i dont wanna keep on turning it on and off, why wont it take videos?

  • so how do i fix the headphone jack when the core is out

  • very helpful...but i winced the entire time....wat a waste of a good ipod!

ps. i know very well they will put it back together

  • my 5th generation recently went through the washer and dryer, my question is how do I remove the water that still shows on the screen?

  • @28004572 Take the screen off, and get rid of the water.

  • hey when i put my earphones in my ipod the background sound is louder and you can hardly here the singer and the sound is weird. also i have tried changing settings and changing my earphones but it doesnt work? can u help me?

  • i droped my ipod in water and it still works but the screen has water in it inside how do i remove the screen ?

  • i have the same Ipod as this one, but mine will not charge this started on monday (today is Saturday) i keep trying to charge it but it wont and when i remove it from my computer (PC) it has no battery/it wont turn on or anything whats wrong with it?

    Please help!

  • @gabbytwilightgirl - Try plugging it into another machine first to verify you don't have a problem with your computer. If that still doesn't work, you probably have a problem with your dock connector which is built onto the logic board in the model. If that's the case, you're better off getting a new iPod.

  • @PowerbookMedic GODDAMNIT! oh well i still have the one year thing

  • @gabbytwilightgirl happened wth me n i had to restore it on itunes which takes it back to its factory setting. went to the apple store where they said they had not heard of this before and said because nobody in the apple store knew what happened they just told me to restore it if it happens again. they also thanked me for pointing out a possible major problem in the ipods system ( in just mine or world wide, probably world wide) this was advise from apple dont listen 2 any1 else hope it helps

  • my ipod is 5th gen and the screen is all white and as a error icon blinking how do i fix it...?

  • @copenhagen1994 - That likely means your hard drive is bad. You'll likely need to replace the drive.

  • @PowerbookMedic ok thanks

  • say man, the bottom inside part of my pod, (i think its called the charger port?) its cracked in half man! can i fix that? its the piece that u stick into the charger. it cracked when i was trying to connect it to a surround sound system :( HelPPPP

  • @funfdogg - That's the dock connector, and it's built onto the logic board.

  • How do i jailbreak this kind of ipod nano. the 5th gen

  • Hey, any idea on how to fix the wheel of an ipod. Mine got drenched and now it's not going.

  • I washed my ipod in my clothes the other day, so thanks to this video, i was able to take it apart, dry it, and now it works.... Thanks man!

  • @Geminiappleboy Still working? What'd you do? Any chemicals?

  • whats the point to this
