The movie dragged me through so much different kinds of emotional variations high and low, light to severe.

After getting dragged through so much different kinds of powerful emotions, the ending brought me back to feeling safe and comfortable, and full of joy.

They could not have ended the movie any better with this joyous and powerful dance piece. My only regret was, I really wished they would show the kids hugging the adult versions of themselves. That would have been the icing on the cake.

The kids stole the show for me.

I love this one part right before Jamal is supposed to sing for Maman. He and Latika are sitting together and Jamal does this adorable little dance (where's a gif when you need it?!). Then Latika says something along the lines of, "I hope you can sing better than you dance." SO CUTE.

How does anybody enjoy this. this bollywood dance during the ending credit made the movie go from an 8 to a 6 out of 10. it is god awful... and also how does this song win for best song/music. just awful. america should always stick with what america like- good things. benjamin button should have won best movie and the soundtrack was really good too. slumdog itself was okay but its no "no country for old men"... it does not deserve this high an honour. im a canadian btw

Yes, Bollywood films do commonly have song and dance, but this film is not a Bollywood film. Bollywood films are made in film studios in Mumbai, and Slumdog Millionaire came from the UK. The dance sequence for the credits could be related to the Bollywood scene, as the movie IS set in India. It could also be paying regards to when Jamal tells Latika they will one day sing and dance together.

the kid actors were hand-picked by danny boyle out of millions of poor kids literally randomly. it was considered unfair that these kids were 'lucky' to be in the film and become rich, whilst other kids never had the opportunity. so the agreement was that the kids would go back into poverty afterwards, with enough money to survive on...being filthy rich from the film wasnt part of the deal. its a shame they returned to poverty, but that was the deal im afraid.

Well, I know that in Bollywood the movies always have a song and dance scene in it, and what my friend thought was that this scene added at the end was simply mocking this Bollywood tradition. I disagreed, and thought it was just a stupid decision by the director. I mean, you just made a movie about the problematic situation in India, and then you do this stupid dance! I didn't see the purpose, and found the last 20 mins. to be extremely dumb and hypocritical. That's what I meant.
