I've seen a version of this exercise used in karate, where they get up into a forward stance. Good to see this can translate to other types of workouts.

a kid tried this at a tournament i was at the popping up and all his opponet did was pull him straight down and pinned him

well it doesn't mean that it doesn't work, there are always answers to any of the moves and better opponents.

the problem is he does not tell you where to use it. if you use it in down or referee's position your opponent can just pull you back and pin you.

@Jeevyg i was able to pop up and get right on top of my opponent when doing bjj starting on the knees, everyone was always like what the hell!!

This guy is a machine. Loving the movement base drills. Great to use it a circiut format, moving from one movement pattern to another.
