Vandal, I have to disagree, simply from what Clinton says at the end: "Criticism, without backup, sucks". These two hosts have the knowledge to back it up. Saying"Sweetie, you look like a ho" is far different than saying " Sweetie, you look like a ho in that, TRY THIS". I think they have to give that tough love, to counter people being defensive from all the other times thoughtless people just delivered shallow comments.

I love this episode. This the first time I seen it and it shows how human Stacy and Clinton are. It really did look like she is a waist of time (btw I haven't watched the whole episode yet, just getting this off my chest) Clinton was very upset and the fact that Clinton walked off because Sarah wasn't being responsive shows how patient he was. He tried taking it out on the clothes he was tossing out and when that didn't work he took a moment to be by himself instead of taking it out on Sarah.
Her fiance doesn't want his daughter to dress like this woman but he has already shown his approval by dating and becoming engaged to her. His daughter is getting mixed messages galore. You shouldn't dress this way but guys are attracted to it.
If you don't want to be criticized, corrected, or taught how to dress, DON'T TAKE THE MONEY. They're just trying to help you look less like a hooker, and more like the beautiful, smart woman you are!!

people are always such haters... everyone complains about how America is getting fat and people should lose weight... and then there's this girl who looks healthy and wants to dress her own way... and hate ensues. you just can't win.
The one thing that does bother me though is the way Ted treats her. He's WAY out of line. He had no right to tell her he was disappointed just because she didn't want her own hair styled in a way she didn't even like.
This is probably one of my favorite episodes. It was the perfect way to teach people that there IS a difference between sexy and skanky. And people need to stop hating on her so much. Yeah, she was a bit misguided when the episode started, but she loved her change and graciously accepted the fact that she was wrong, and learned her lesson about what being beautiful and attractive really means. And honestly, have some perspective. If national TV made fun of your entire wardrobe you'd be upset too

Awww, I'm glad she turned out so happy at the end. Yeah, in the beginning she was an ungrateful, stubborn, trashy-looking piece of work, but I really think that at the end she saw the difference and really loved the result.
Plus, it was SUPER adorable how excited she was about her new outfits. Seeing that fun, bubbly side of her makes me think that she'll be a great mom to those kids. :)
The woman didn't like being critisized by how she looked. I think that's what mostly made her speechless when in the 360 mirror and walk out of the place. I could understand her feelings. I really love this episode! I'm watching it for the second time and her response to the change and hows she's all bouncy is too cute and appreciative.
Sarah has emotional and psychological issues that require far more professional help than clothing experts can provide. She will in all likelihood revert back to her trashy slutty clothes and never get anywhere in any professional career let alone a legal career. The woman didn't like being critisized by how she looked. I think that's what mostly made her speechless when in the 360 mirror and walk out of the place. I could understand her feelings. When she started to go through the actual shopping, she actually tried to follow stacy and clinton's rules and had alot of thought with each thing.Okay so maybe she was a bit defensive and didn't SEEM appreciative, but she was alot better in the end.

Great chapter! In the end I began to love Sarah :D I think too many people on this page who believe they deserve this chance, they really dont, because of the way of judging people the way they do. In the end she only showed how afraid she was.

Alright, there's a lot of criticism on this page, but I want to say I actually love her. I think she was obviously insecure when she was younger and was deeply hurt by a lot of people. I can see why one would be defensive. I thought she was adorable and hilarious and was really sweet underneath. Plus, she admitted that she was wrong in a very gracious manner. Her fiance does need a massive makeover though!!! - EWW!

I hate when they pick women like this, because they're not just ignorant about fashion - they're simply obnoxious and ignorant about life in general. i more appreciate when they make over middle-aged women. I feel like those women actually appreciate the chance for a makeover whereas women like this, or that "super-cute" denise woman truly believe that their outfits are appropriate and fashionable and they're not willing to change so they shouldn't have accepted the money in the first place.

Sarah has emotional and psychological issues that require far more professional help than clothing experts can provide. She will in all likelihood revert back to her trashy slutty clothes and never get anywhere in any professional career let alone a legal career. Her outer beauty IS the only thing she has ever had to offer and until she chooses to grow up she will never have anything else. I hope her fiance dumps her before it's too late.

this is one of my favorite episodes. the girl had so much potential, but she literally looked better in plain ts and no makeup in comparison to what she was doing before. it's incredible how the change on the outside changed her demeanor.

Why do women dress like hookers and then don't understand why people are not impressed in the professional and classy world. If you wanna look like a tramp then don't expect respect. She isn't hot without all the distraction so maybe that's what it is. I see so many chicks think that platinum blonde hair and a fake tan make them hot. NOPE. When you have no self esteem, you feel like no one considers you worthwhile or notices you; thus, you have Zero Power Over What Happens in Your Life. It's frightening to believe that you can't affect the direction of your life. Often women who feel this way, find that if they dress sexy/trampy, they can exert power and affect people for the first time.

But low self-esteem makes you believe that there are women who can dress respectably and be taken seriously, and there are other women whose only value is their sex appeal. That you are one type or the other, and you can never change that. If you feel you're part of the latter group, you become attached to dressing trampy because it's the only voice you have.
