  • I brought a fusion ca-ip500 and found that fusion is wrong this unit does not work with a 3rd generation 64gb ipod touch as it is to long and the face plate will not close properly.

  • Get"`.An,.'IPOD`'`Now,,.

    Simply"'.Copy'''And'."Paste,.'

  • i would not recommend getting this. ive had it in my car for a month and its already falling apart, the faceplate falls off, the screen is dimming and the audio sounds horrible even when set up correctly.

  • this is fucken stupid!!

  • ipod touch 4g ??

  • @Msport18

I have the CD500. With this radio you can't place the Ipod in the radio, but you have an AUX cable which attach the Ipod with your radio. Plus you can play cd's with the CD500.

  • does this work with the newer ipods the slim ones?

  • What do i need to add to it so i can have Dab radio?

  • this unit read the USB flash drive?

  • Thanks so much for this video it helped me out so much !

  • As of 11-29-10 Walmart has this gem for $48.88.

  • yes it does

  • does this have an auxiliary port?

  • its only warm because it charges your ipod while its in there

  • Comment removed

  • Does Fusion work only with ipod or does this system work with any mp3 player?

  • $250? It's available at Walmart.com for $48.00! I'm ordering one today.

My question is, can you detach the face without your iPod being visible???

  • if your ipod can play radio stations...can you play radio stations on that?

  • Why won't vendors make these type of stereos? Good question.

Heres the answer: Not all of us have Ipods! A large percent of people uses aother brands of mp3,mp4 player and most of us use our phones player.

  • @Echofromsomewere1

Yeah, all 10 of you have a cheap-ass MP3 player rather than an iPod.

80% of MPwhatever units sold are iPods. Why accommodate the losers, and go with the 80%? That's where the money is, dimwit.

  • will this install in any car? old cars? like a 66 plymouth valiant?

  • @missemsnitchesss if you have the right kit then yes its just like any other single din radio...

  • Is there a standard 3.5mm AUX jack?

  • does iphone work with this?

  • not bad but come on no cd's

  • @sejor23 ....you must be kidding.

  • i'm sold. :)

  • iphone doesnt work w it

  • @partybusdallas i hpne will work w adapter

  • Bought mine at Best Buy for $80 on black Friday....good tuner...does get a little hot..only one of its kind..kind of confusing( to operate)

  • its looks alright but without a cd player this thing is a fail, yea we may not buy or use cd's as much but it will come in handy some how

  • @zerosk8ter9 OK I thought sejor23 was joking, but you are one dumb mofo.

  • Comment removed

  • @forpsake how?as long as cd's exist i need a dam cd player in my car, besides why buy this when i can just plug my ipod to my stereo and jam out

  • @zerosk8ter9 lol "comment removed" lol...lol...lol...lol..rofl..got a little testy didn't you. You can dish out criticism but you can't take it!!!! OMG!!! The hole point of this is to ELIMINATE the need for cd's in the CAR stereo!!!!!! Now I'm curious, do you pack your stereo in your car when you want to "jam out", oh wait, I get it! You don't have a car...LOL! Are you a kid? If you are, then I apologize and will try to type s l o w l y so you can follow...this is for a CAR stereo!

  • @forpsake ...im 19 and yes i do have a car.wtf wrong with you man you reply like a bitch.Im saying that i can just plug in my dam ipod to my stock stereo by connecting a fkin wire from my ipod to the stereo under the AUX setting. A fkin avic F90bt is better then this piece of shet

  • Comment removed

  • Junk....i think your ipod would get to hot in there... plus i'd like to see my display still.

  • @Nathalian987 it doesn't get hot, but it gets cold in the winter

  • Does an IPHONE work with this??

  • soooo ... no cd's?

  • for fusion it don't look to bad. but i still don't think it's enough to beat Pioneer's Stage 4

  • Got one on ebay for $100

  • @PackersFan340 how do you like it?

  • I haven't actually used it yet lol I don't get my car til april but I will tell u then.

  • nice. i might get one of these and have it installed in my 2005 Dodge Stratus when i get it fixed soon. this costs around $250 bucks, but i need to find out how much installation is gonna cost. all in all it seems like it'll be a pretty good investment

  • nvrmind, change of heart. CNET gave this 2 stars out of 5 and two reviewers on Amazon each gave it a 1 star rating

  • This is super cool.

  • I like what i saw :] Gonna look around to see for more alternatives, otherwise ill get this one i think :) rocks!

  • All this is obsolete. Why not make the unit itself an "iPod"? Or in this case it would be more like a Zune. The entire thing could store and play music, videos, etc. Include a radio. It would have built-in WiFi to download from a music store and sync with your home network or your handheld iPod or Zune. Why do car radio manufacturers have to be so... backwards?

  • @myangeldustatymail The whole point is so it stays synchronized with both your library and your positions in podcasts, audiobooks, etc. Your idea completely fails to address that.

  • The majority of iPod users don't carry their units with them. Units are either at home or in the car. Kids, pedestrians and transit riders occupy that other group.

I may not be the only one to limit my use of that fragile, expensive device. Makers of car stereos should take heed: with the high demand of aftermarket radios, eliminating the iPod from the user's list of purchasing requirements can benefit them and us. One less thing to buy.

  • @myangeldustatymail I think that's an absurd assertion. The entire reason for having an iPod is being able to carry your media with you. Even if you were correct, there are millions that always carry their iPod with them, in the form of the iPhone. Lastly, the stereo isn't holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy an iPod. Most if not all which have an iPod dock connector can also play music from any number of other sources, including MP3 CDs and even USB drives.

  • The reason for having an iPod is to keep oneself entertained and self-contained. There are far more radio listening motorists than iPod toting pedestrians. So why should the car get a hybrid unit? How absurd is it to suggest the car get it's own genre of system? It's the perfect environment for such an innovation. I don't even know why car stereo makers cowtow to the portable brands when they can create their own and expand the market.

  • "Expanding the market" hits my ears as "creates another link in the endless chain of stuff I have that doesn't work together". The iPod and iTunes, for all it's flaws, are the one bit of technology I use which I have the least trouble with (note: not none). I like it that way.

In a utopian world, yes, it would work as you described, but that won't happen yet. In the meantime, we have this, and it's pretty darn good.

  • iPod is a closed system. You don't see anything wrong with it because it doesn't show you anything else. I works because it only give you so much and nothing more. iTunes sells MP4 files which no one else plays because they don't have the license to do so. And no one builds an iTunes compatible player because Apple will sue them if they do. You're logic is if Apple doesn't want to make a car stereo then NO ONE ELSE should either. You're saying "NO" to innovation.

  • @myangeldustatymail The fact that you said that I claimed it had no flaws proves you didn't read my comment, but I'll bite anyway. I know how the industry works. I do freelance iPhone development, so you may see me as biased, but the only reason I support a company as hard-headed as Apple is because they are the only company which has gotten it right. When others get it right, we will switch to them. That's how innovation works.

  • iPhone dev has nothing to do with car stereos. I only see you as someone who prefers the status quo no matter the limitations it imposes on you, on us. I don't want to fiddle with an iPod, Zune, or whatever. I want a car stereo that holds all my music and uploads more from home. I don't want radios that require more expensive components (or weak accessories) to give me that. And I want them to play ANY FORMAT not just those licensed by one company.

  • Utopian? You confuse marketshare with perfection or something like it. Zune works. So does Archos and all the others. They play all forms of video formats well. Apple didn't invent the MP3 player and they didn't make it better. They just wrapped it in antiseptic clothing. And they hit the right target market: people with disposible income and bland tastes. iPods haven't even sold more than the other brands, they simply sold for a higher price. You should be asking for more product.

  • If no one builds what I'm talking about we're all "forced" to buy iPod-compatible units or nothing at all. Various attempts have been made by the aftermarket with little to no marketing. MP3 CDs are as obsolete as cassettes and few are radios with USB drives (mostly German cars). Then there's all those crappy iPod accessories- fodder for landfills. Chrysler is the only one offering an "auto iPod" called MyGig. Sony should be doing this.

  • Most stereos have the long list problem just change all your genres to alpahbet problem solved

  • its a really good idea, and i was going to buy one, but it looks so cheap and feels really flimsy in real life so i got a nice JVC one instead.

  • cheesy animatio, this video is cheesy an nobody care fag.

  • STUPID! I don't have time to learn all that crap and it certainly isn't friendly while driving. Plus, you iPod could be stolen. Just give us a simple clean interface & a unit we can upload our music to.

  • Our cars should have "iPods" of their own. With WiFi, we should be able to upload from home to car. Why carry a little device that's prone to damage or dead battery?

  • Does pioneer make this, because it looks like a hard rip off if they don't lol.

  • Nice idea but ill wait for kenwood excellon or clairion pro audio to come out with one.

  • Yeah dude the pioneer deh p5100ub I've got it and you can search by alphebitize all the long lists on a iPod

  • can i use my G3 iPhone's iPod with this...?

  • It isn't officially "supported" but will fit just fine. I used my old G3 and have all my music in my car 24/7. It's awesome!

  • If you want a unit that will play your iPod without a bunch of wires etc, this is the unit to have. I don't need USB, or any of that other crap just play my 30 GB of music, period. This unit surpasses that and gives me all the functionality of my iPod in a head unit. The sound quality is superb. Don't listen to the negative reviews, I've been looking at these for a while and it may not be Alpine or Kenwood but it's fits the bill. No more storing my iPod in the cup holder.

  • How about never carry an iPod again? It's like the Chihuahua of the techie. Carrying this thing around like its alive. Sony, Kenwood and everyone else should make their units with gigabyte drives and WiFi for sync with your home media. Unlike the iPod it will also have radio, bluetooth, and a better monitor. And you can't loose it 'cause it's attached to your car. Plus all those pesky cords and accessories (like rhinestone cases). Who needs 'em? Money down the drain.

  • i saw addison road on there..i used to go to church with the drummer..

  • you will be obsolete a long time before the ipod is

  • eh innovative, but i still like having the possibility to play a CD and my ipod through a small AUX cable.

  • Innovative would be a car radio that can store your music collection with you and upload directly from your home net or laptop. No cords, no hard cases, no earbuds, and no more dancing unit on the passenger seat. That's what stereo makers should be building for us.

  • and if you buy one i would suggest taking the ipod out everytime you leave your car. especially if your car gets hot. it can melt the inside. it ruined one of my ipods and i burnt my finger pretty bad. it works good just be careful

  • Or get a unit that has its own solid state hard drive with ALL you music on it. And more to add via WiFi from your home network, lappity-toppity box, or iTunes store. How many people take their iPods with them when they get out of the car? Of those, how many do it all the time? Andfor the remaining, does one need music in their ears at Home Depot or 7-11?

  • i have one and have been happy for the most part. you can for the most part customize as much frequency as you want. i dont like the quality of the plastic, the nobs are very fragile and break easy. also the faceplate is fragile coming off and on. the classic ipod slides out and the 2nd gen ipod touch barely fits. i have two twelves, running on a thousand watt amp, two 250 w 6x9 and to 6.5 in door speakers at 150w each. the deck powers them all and sound quality is great.

  • How much did it cost you?

  • @myangeldustatymail How much did what cost me?

As for the rest, when you build that, let me know so I can buy it.

  • I was asking masteez6969 how much did he pay for his unit?

  • i got mine for 60 cause it was a best buy store model. bu i would suggest gettin something else. but last time i checked 250 brand new

  • have to get me one of these!!!!!looks good!!!!!!

  • I'm glad I found this. Been looking for an upgrade for my car stereo to use only my ipod but didn't like how i had to use a usb cable and leave it free in the car with all other headunits. This thing is perfect. The only thing i don't like personally is they should of had red as one of the button led colors as most cars nowadays have red for instrumentation lighting (including mine) but aside from that i'm picking one up this week.

    Alpine, Sony, Pioneer, take notes;)

  • Spending several hundred for an aftermarket stereo THEN spending a couple hundred more to carry your music to your car stereo, that's ridiculous. Your car stereo should already contain all your music and upload more from your house while your planning your next road trip. Alpine, Sony and Pioneer should be making systems like that!!

  • i think this is the next step in car audio.

the differance between this and a stereo that has wired ipod connection is that u can use the head unit like it was playing a cd instead of messin about with the ipod this is a really good point when your on your own driving.

also if your like me and forever doing cd just for the car u save loads of money buying cd's and save alot of space and extra mess in the car.

all the time when i listen to music other than in my car i use my ipod.

  • The next step in car audio should be a unit that contains all your music for you. A unit that uploads new music from your desktop or laptop as soon as you "buy" it. You shouldn't have to wrestle with cords and fragile devices everytime you go for a ride.

  • does not work with iphone like he said i have this unit i love. i see guy post rather have it in glove box....but glove box gets hotter n ipod slides around. these is awesome deck n idea no more cds lying around my car

  • By the looks of things... this doesn't play just normal CDs does it?

So... (anyone feel free to comment...) do you think this is a 'good stereo'?

I'm thinking of buying one, it seems good to play iPods (and I don't have HUGE lists or anything), so I dunno.

  • it only plays ipods and the am/fm, but really if you have your ipod in there how often are you gonna listen your cds

  • this looks kinda cool but its kind of lame. every time you remove the face plate you gotta take the ipod. i rather stick with a wired ipod connection since you can run the wire anywhere out of sight. i have my old classic in the glove box where its safe.

  • Does this work with Iphone 3G?

  • does it works with nano ?

  • he said it does in the video at the end 6:10

  • My Alpine CDA-9885r might have an iPod lead. But frankly it owns this headunit. And i picked it up for £40 less than the cost of a Fusion headunit.

  • i bought one for my sons car.. It is great and was on sale for 125.00. I put it in a 1975 VW Super Beetle!

  • where can i get it and how much?

  • lol he says it...@bestbuy for $250,looks very cool stereo....

  • you can get it from around £140 from fusion uk webside they have to many dealer in uk so jst go to fusion audio and click where can i buy this product

    thanks

    Mahmud

  • i have this i seriously recommend it because its amazing

  • I put my artists into smaller groups by editing the genre in the tags (only on my touch, not the files stored on my PC) to ABC, DEF etc. as I never search by genre. That makes it a bit quicker to find a particular artist.

  • does it support iphone?

  • it should

  • Thats actually a good Idea. I'm going to keep an eye out for that

  • This is amaazing.................

Im currently using the iRadio thingy ...... but Im probably going to consider getting a FUSION!!

  • WOW are car stereo's that cheap looking! I normally only see the default car radio.

  • this is pretty sick :P i want my car to have these
