Yngwie isn't being technical just to technical. He has alot of great riffs alot of them simple. This song may be technical yes but every song is to some degree. Jason Becker now there is a guy who was extemely technical but he was young and he was showing the world what he could do so you can't blame him for that. My favorite riff by Yngwie is the rising force solo Riff, which for a solo is fairly simple. But in the end alls that Matters is more people like him than you.

Scalloped is a good thing y'know? Lighter press rewards one's playing. To add, you can get better bends. There's no downside to scalloped unless you press hard on frets. Then it's literally shredding...your fingers that is.
