ya lol i need to learn how to face off better in my game today we were tied and in my middle school league for over time they do a sudden death with only 2 players on each team 1 goalie and 1 other player and I don't get why my team picked me to do it

@jackquinn17 To each his own man. This is a solid technique that works for some, doesn't for others. I use to face-off w/out the moto grip, and I won face-offs, but not as clean as I wanted. I incorporated the moto and much more aggresive step into my face-offs, and I am dominantly winning them clean. You don't mention anything that you use. Paul Cantabene was a sick face-off man in his day, and he knows his stuff. I'd listen up, because I don't see you playing MLL, or being an All-American.

I dont beileve What this guy is saying is right. If you lose all the faceoffs in the beginning your most likeley to lose. So the last couple faceoffs after hitting the man so many times, they really wouldnt matter.

It really doesnt matter what type of field you play on. And turf or your Astro Turf would be a good help because it is a leveled playing field.

any kind of turf is great for faceoffs because it is always leveled and shorter than real grass so the grass will be easier to roll the ball out on and easier to get ground balls!

agreed. but i use it every, 3 faces offs, give or take. so the other man hesitates clamping, esp. if he is a heavy clamper. then when he hesitates the next face, you can laser or pop it out the side and your on a face break. or you can jam him a lot easier as well. but it is dirty haha. but hey, if your not somewhat cheating or playing dirty of face-offs your not trying to win them, was told that once by my coach. haha.

jump. basiacally jump the ball the hit the ball so it goes behing you, OR...

you cheat. now you gotta make sure the ref dosnt see this but hold the stick how you normally would (not motorcycle grip). when the whistle blows, move your hands to the rightso your middle and your index finger line up with the ball, throuw those fingers out, nd when you fell you opponents stick hit your fingers just push it off to wherever you want to then rake the ball. but remember, the ref CANT see it.

what i usually do is shove my stick onto his, kinda hard to put it in words, but in the k18 faceoff vid he does it, and 90% of the time it works if you practice it.

not to be an ass but that draw works like a charm. you push the ball forward, step right around and ur all alone, fast break, most of the time u can even run it in urself for a high qual shot. its for quick players who can shoot well from just inside the restraining line

This might sound weird, but alot of the MLL fogos do it. Record a whistle playing over and over and put it on your iPod, and just clamp everytime you hear the whistle to work on your reaction time. Make sure the whistles are at random intervals to keep yourself from finding a routine.
