  • Jackson (randy RHoads) 4 life!!!

but ESP is also very good

  • I had a Jackson DK1 from the 90's and it was probably the best neck I have ever played on!

  • I like Jackson for there looks and sound. I like ESP but Jackson is my favorite brand of guitar.

  • KING FUCKING V!!!

  • why do you took a guitar with a floyd rose and a fix bridge? you need need two guitars with in german it means ''ungefähr'' th same specs dude :D

  • Ever thought of using Elixir strings? The Polywebs are magic!

  • @SoreEyeMusic Strings

  • having a jackson I think they're both really great guitars specially for heavy metal hardcore and stuff like that

btw: question.. how did you get that speed?

  • I have a 1987 Jackson USA Soloist SL1 and a 2009 ESP Eclipse II. Both all white and look fantastic together. My take on the strengths may be different than you'd expect. I find the Jackson with it's longer scale and slightly wider neck to be better for arpeggios and intricate rhythm stuff. The ESP and it's shorter scale is easier for lead playing. I lean heavily toward the ESP most of the time presently due to having installed Variax electronics into it. Unfair advantage that I'm going to fix!

  • I love both Jackson and ESP. I own a Jackson KV and an ESP ex and i find that they are both beautiful guitars! In my opinion, THIS JACKSON sounds better than this ESP. That KV kicks the ass of THAT PATICULAR ESP. Not in general, just those two models

  • V form rocks but i prefer ESP than Jackson. The best are Flying V ESPs !!

  • im with maidenfan hello kittys signature model shreds like a bitch

  • Jackson is much better then ESP

  • @8543kenny this guy is correct

  • jackson is like, i dont know, like 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 million times better than esp

  • Squire hello kitty strat is the most metal guitar ever lol

but seriously id go with jackson.

  • HOW YOU SHOULD THINK OF IT:

Jackson: Big hands (43mm nut) (57mm neck end)

ESP: Smaller hands (42mm nut) (56mm neck end)

Equally amazing guitars... but we all know walmart guitars are far superior!

  • mmm i say . . . . scheccter . BUAJAJAJAJAJAA :P

  • Thanks for rhe vid. Trying to decide between almost these exact two guitars. It blows me away that guitars this expensive made with supposed TLC have fundamental manufacturing flaws. Don't these people use CNC machinery?

  • Jackson rulez

  • i think esp and emg have ruind alexis sound...my votes with jackson, or im a misguided

  • I have an ESP ex and a demmelition king V.. I would go with ESP all the way for rhythm and Jackson for lead \m/

  • I love both of them!

  • If the guitar has poor intonation it is junk so the jackson loses this comparison.

  • @6second2004gto he didnt say that the Jackson KV2 had bad intonation he just said that the ESP MII had excellent intonation

  • @0ZAZU Didn't you hear the chords he played with the Jackson? Obviously it has poor intonation. I used to own a Jackson rhoads model when I was a kid the intonation sucked and I've played a few other Jackson guitars and they had the same problem.

  • @6second2004gto my ear is still not 100% accustomed to these things but even so it didn't sound that bad on my end

  • @0ZAZU Your ear isn't very good then...lol

  • @6second2004gto hey man ive only been seriously playing for a year now lol

  • esp rapes anyone else

  • jackson !!!!!

  • machine head use Jacksons..

    nuff said

  • @FallingSkywardsBand so EMG it is!

  • The funny thing is my favorite guitars are Jacksons and Esp. I think they both kick ass but if I had to choose one Id play Jackson.

  • Jackson for Death ,Black,Thrash,Doom,

    ESP for Metalcore

    Which is better obviously?

  • Jackson: Iron Maiden, hatebreed, lamb of god, ozzy osbourne, helstar, slipkon(witch i hate :D) and tons of others...

  • @its0black0magic Gus G uses ESP not Jackson (Randy Rhoads did but hey that was 30 years ago) , and Slipknot never used Jacksons (Jim Root uses Fender , and Mick Thomson used to use Bcrich but now uses Ibanez)

  • jackson = ???

Esp = slayer, whitechapel, lamb of god, children of bodom, behemoth, dimmu borgir, devildriver, the black dahlia murder, carcass, gwar, walls of jericho, six feet under, suicide silence, psycroptic, etc.

  • @BeholdTheHeadOfGod

    Jackson:

Bodom, when Alexi's guitar actually sounded good, didn't play sloppy as fuck and when they were original not some metalcore shit.

That's all you need to know.

  • @iholc Alexi's playing is getting alot cleaner (He does'nt drink any hard liquor anymore) , CoB dont play Metalcore and they never played Metalcore , and the fact that Alexi has been with ESP since 2003 obviously means that he prefers Jackson *sarcasm*

  • @Shink5 well he play ESP but that doesnt have to mean he likes them better, mybe they just offered him a signature modell. DOn't get me wrong, I have an LTD myself, but you really dont know what Alexi is really thinking

  • @BeholdTheHeadOfGod isn't (wasn't) Dimmu Borgir sponsored by Bc.Rich

  • ESP ist the best!

  • To suggest that a certain guitar brand is only for certain types of genres shows how little you actually know about guitars... and a "darker heavier tone", that has more to do with pickups than Jackson or ESP, read what church8826 said, play both and find which u like best, that's what most ppl do. Not "oh i like Metal-Core so i'll get Jackson" or "I like Death Metal, so i'll get ESP", don't make it into a battle of genres, it's not.

  • ESP. hands down.

Jackson guitars are for your metal-core genre(personally hate it) and ESP has a darker heavier tone to it(mainly found in Death-metal band)

  • @SergioKANE666 bullshit look at the old school Death Metal bands and you will find that none of them use ESP and they use Jackson,Ibanez and B.C Rich!

  • jackson, bought one today traded it for my esp, best guitar ive ever played

  • jackson is the best hands down

  • JACKSONNNNNNNNNNN

  • Dude you're a fuckin BEAST.

  • ESP ESP ESP!!!!

  • hehehe, fender sucks

  • Is the clean sound on the JS32 series of Jackson any good?

  • what should i get the jackson js32t king v or the esp ltd v300????

  • @vM3TALLICAx V-300 no question. the js32t has jackson crappy pickups. but the v300 has emgs. they feel and sound great

  • Comment removed

  • What guitar do guys think I should get, an LTD EC1000 VB or a Jackson Matt Tuck RR?

  • @ibanezguy15 get tuck's RR man.... kicks ass...

  • plzz help which guitar is da best jackson dxmg oe fender blacktop strat?

  • @joeldification dude these are completely different guitars, at least pick two guitars geared for the same genre of music sheesh

  • @MrGuitar144 allr8 dk2 or dxmg or prs se torero

  • is guitar center , la mesa a guitar store seller say me that jackson are not so good made and esp ltd was the best is that true or his only playing with me?

  • @ILikeToPlayGuitarToo Depends on what model you want and your playing style. I like Jackson guitars, but ever since they're name got bought by Fender, its like Fender sent Jackson to its grave. Everything just went down hill. Its hard to find a really good Jackson thats in a reasonable price range, unless I go to ebay which is more of a gamble. I certain ESP models are good, but its a gamble. Your best bet is either Schecter or Ibanez. Maybe ESP.

  • I prefer ESP But Jacksons are nice too

  • I've played many high-end guitars from most brands and I have enjoyed every last one. I play a lot of music styles but mostly extreme forms of metal. But when I picked up an American Deluxe Stratocaster and played the Blues, nothing else came close. I'm a fan of how the Gibson LP Traditional feels also. For metal, Jackson/ESP, I don't really mind either way. Both great manufacturers. Enough said.

  • the both

  • i hate that songggg

  • ESP and EMG forever

  • Just got the mII camo. compared to my horizon, i find it uglier :), but more solid and suitable for metal playing. Got a pretty nice grip on the fretboard.

  • Menu music is just classic n64

  • i prefer Ibanez and Jackson.... especially The DK2S Dinky Jackson with Sustaniac! but i love E.S.P too.. i only got Jackson and Ibanez...

  • I'm trying to decide between the esp alexi (the 1k one) and the jackson rhoads with one pickup modelled after it...

  • @Spjungen WRONG!!!! the rr24 was waaay before the alexi v!! alexi and roope designed it together, but jackson said that it will take 1year to bring it out as his signature model. ESP said 3 months, so he jumped on it! btw, the jackson kills the alexi cause it has a real EMG 81, while the alexi has a hz , and it's even cheaper and also available with maple fretboard!

  • the both best

  • i have 3 LTD guitars but one guitar i love from jackson is there king vs

  • I had both ESP and Jackson I think Jackson wins. I had a esp ec1000 and for the money I was kind of expecting a bit better quality I mean it was good quality already but it could've have been better

  • Omg that News Break soundtrack again xD

  • Thanks for the vid i have the same issue with a Jackson (style, i got it on ebay) neck with a misaligned truss rod and ill try that fix when i drill the hole for the screw.

  • ESP all the way!

  • ESP FTW!

  • ESP IS BETTER ,,,JACKSON IS OK

  • i bought a jackson rr1 and it's far better than esp edwards v or laiho signatures...

  • i prefer ESP, jacksons are okay. the only real jackson guitar that i see that would be better then an esp would be the RR24, other then that esp kicks ass

  • Cool video, but would have been more fair to compare similar body styles. I have a Jackson and an ESP, both neck through, both string through, both have maple necks and both strat body styles. I love both guitars, but the Jackson is superior in "ALL" aspects. The neck rarely needs adjusting, the craftsmanship is nearly flawless, superior hardware and the fret positioning is practically dead on for great intonation. (And yes, I know how to properly intonate a guitar with a strobe tuner). USA!!

  • Jackson !!! i like this combination Jackson king V + Dunlop heavy metal strings + line 6 spider amp+ death metal distortion pedal... fuck yeah ! /M\

  • ++There is no such thing as a High performance E S P There all made at the Samick factory with better Q.C ? Did you do any research before you made the video. Oh if your going to do a comparison have both guitars set up the same. The intonation is out on the Jackson.

  • i prefer fender

  • i think esp is much more younger than that jackson and that is why esp is nicer than jackson in innotation. because after enough time maybe jackson's keyboard might be bended a little. it is made of wood and ofcourse this is possible.

  • @muhammedmuhiddin Jackson is better in every way, the good looking guitars from esp looks like jackson copy. So randy rhoads, SL guitars (ESP Horizon) or the v guitars.all their own guitars looks crap or like Gibson Les Paul and Explorer. They copied everything and this is what still sucks. I guess the jackson are oftenly cheaper and more kick ass neck,i´´m much faster shredding on a jackson.

  • @Nightcrawl6 IN JACKSON WE TRUST MAN!

  • haha for me it doesn't matter i can't afford either of them at the moment,so i have to play still my Epiphone.....

  • I'm getting a jackson rhoads offset v guitar. And when I was at guitar center I played some ESP guitars and idk they felt just off to me I can't explain it

  • Jackson and ESP BOTH SUCK

    DEAN GUITARS FTW!

  • @rhoadsrulesfan dean is a cheap entry level guitar brand. you havent even played a jackson or an esp, you probably have just started playing guitar also. i can tell because any guitarist that has a brain would choose esp or jackson over dean

  • @rhoadsrulesfan your a randy rhodes fan and your hating on Jackson, are you fuckin retarded. randy rhodes made jackson guitars famous you dumbass, why do you think bands play jacksons. i see more bands playing jackson and esp more then anything. maybe that's why they both kick serious ass. Dean guitars fuckin suck, there

mainly known for their dimebag sig's. god your a dumbass, you know nothing about guitars. even ibanez is better than dean. you need to learn your shit.

  • i prefer jacksons over esp but if its and ltd which basically is an esp so im being some sort of idk how to put it anyway i love ltd but my kh-202 needs some massive work on it but im quite comfortable with my jackson js22r dinky

  • i prefer esp but jackson kick ass too

  • Jackson are more original since they created so many new guitar shapes while ESP just copy classics but change slightly and the high-end Jacksons are hand made in USA and very high quailty

  • one thing jackson now are not for rock song

wat im hearing jackson guitar are for metal song

  • thumbs up for jackson!

  • i have a jackson dk 2 with seymour duncan pickups. I love it,

i don´t know the Esp guitars.

  • I have a jackson USA RR1 and an ESP Eclipse Custom :)

  • both are awesome. both sound and feel like sex

  • Jackson all the way! I got a jackson dkmg for christmas and I love it. It has a nice crunchy sound with the EMGs. But I don't really like the tremolo. It a licensed floyd it's ok but I'm going to change it and get an Original Floyd Rose.

  • @DeathMetalBoy666 Well usually you're better off buying a quality guitar which has original floyd rose in it. Changing a licensed floyd rose to a better one might cost you and will not pay for itself. If the guitar is cheap in quality, its not worth it... dmometalguitars stated this in one of his videos..

  • @laitela01 well i have a jackson dkmg. is it cheap quality?

  • @DeathMetalBoy666 No... Once you pass the low-end models, the differences between higher-end guitars start to become more subtle... you dont have to own a $2000 guitar to make $200 investment to it... All that matters, is that whether you want to make this particular guitar your best (by investing money on it), or not to get any stuff to it and save up for a higher end guitar to make less need for these changes... but if your guitar is perfect in any other way, then go for it..

  • i have a kv10 and i love it, but id love to have an esp too

  • ESP all the way

  • When you say "waves" to talk about minor oscillations in the tuning, you actually mean what are called "beat frequencies."

  • you got boned by your esp. i have played alot, and they rule.

  • Jackson all the way.

  • Absolutly Jackson sounds better!

    Saludos desde Argentina.

  • what the hell, why are they tuned differently??

  • I prefer ESP over Jackson. A lot of ESPs come stock with EMG pickups, which is a big help to someone like me who chooses to have EMGs in every guitar. But I play both Jackson and ESP, and both are really great.

  • @Itachifan186 godin jackson and esp come stock with emg!!!

  • Jackson's just have that ideal "punch" sound. I've never played an ESP, but it sounded pretty good tbh.

  • Nah, just kidding. I know that Jacksons are nice. :-bd

  • I should've known it. Most people here love Jackson just because it's made in the US. :-j

  • if the Active Pickups really pick up the Tremolo springs vibrations maybe you can put some kind of dampener to stop them vibrating (like a sponge or foam or something) easy fix :P

  • And just looking at the defects you are mentioning, I would have sent them back as unacceptable.

  • I'm kinda confused on the way intonation works... Do you know of any other way to describe the ajustments? I'm just trying to figure out how to set up a guitar, so it runs its best.

  • I can't fault my jackson dk2m eerie dess swirl guitar.

  • heyy great comparison :) could u do this between the Ibanez S740 and the Jackson King V - cuz im lookin at both of them and would like some advice :) thx

  • @SlashRulesGibson22 KV2 King V*

  • can't compare 2 metal gods whit different styles

  • i perfer Jackson just because i like the "feel" of the guitar better the ESP

  • I think so ... Esp is way better, but Jackson and Esp - Ltd use Emg 81 and 85, they both use best humbuckers for good money, but Esp win - better body, tremolo, for exam. Kirk Hammet are owning me on his guitar - sounds is jewelous ... I think so :D

  • @Krainko Well the only reason that ESP is good now, is that Jackson got bought by Fender, and Fender makes their guitars under Jackson's name. ESP before had a hard time getting any sales since Jackson came on top in the 80's and 90's when it came to great quality, performance, and amazing guitar designs. But when Fender took bought their name, Jackson got sent to their graves since Fender didn't really care for making Jackson's.

  • @tuck234 Yes, I aggre with you 100 % . )

  • @tuck234

Fender actually does not make the guitars themselve. Mike Shannon, one of the original builders at Jackson, along with many of the people who worked at Jackson before the buyout, still build the guitars to this day. Fender may own Jackson but in reality they have nothing to do with the manufacturing of them. Jackson still makes a freakin' great guitar. I have a 2007 USA Soloist that I love. Jackson;s low point was in the late 90s when they were owned by AMIC. Fender helped Jackson.

  • @Church8826 Interesting. Thanks for the information.

  • @tuck234

Essentially what they did was they went to Fender because Fender has the largest dealer network in the world, so distribution of Jacksons can be as far as all Fender dealers. If you want more information on the whole pre vs post Fender buyout go to JCF Online. Many own guitars from all periods of Jackson ownership and will tell you that it does not Matter most Jacksons kick ass. The whole buyout quality going down has been a ploy by Ebay sellers to raise prices on their guitars.

  • @tuck234

Just remember that like all manufacturers Jackson has made their lemons, but for the most part they are pretty consistent. and there have been bad guitars made before and after the buyout, not a lot but like I said no matter what is made there will be some lemons out there,

As far as the whole ESP vs Jackson things goes they are both excellent quality gutiar manufacturers. You just have to go and try what you feel is best for you.

  • which is better a Jackson js32 (tremolo) or a Jackson king V (tremolo) Both have: -24 frets -tremolo systems

which one is better? cuz i dont know which one to get for Christmas.

  • @DeathMetalBoy666 I would go for the King V if you really want crunchy metal sound with great precision. But make sure you get a tremolo system that is the Original Floyd made by Schauler, not the Licensed version.

  • Its funny how both high rated comments are each to their own, and how jackson has 35 more likes =p

  • I think that Jackson's are betters ESP are just only the copys of Jacksons... I have played many ESP and many Jacksons and my answer is... Jackson

  • I find it funny how he doesnt like deans because they are overpriced, but the only reason im getting a dean z 79 over an ESP ex is because the dean is so cheap (at least from where im getting it from). I'm definately getting an M-II next though, and my warrior is still awesome, so then I'll be set for a while

  • @Tigemite All (or most) Deans have gotten cheaper because a lot of guitars (and VERY disappointingly including the Explosion Razorback) are pretty low in quality. I heard that their bodies don't last long and their tremolos are laughably pathetic since they're Floyd Roses from different companies. IDK how Dimebag was able to last so long with his Deans but that's what I've seen. ESPs are much better in quality.

  • @ARodYankFan yeah, ESPs are much better. I'm just getting my Z as a fixed bridge guitar for convenience (easy tuning etc), so I don't have to worry about their shitty FRs.

  • @ARodYankFan Dime's is custom made straight from the manufacturer. Everything else is just a copy of his design.

  • esp rules. jackson uses more of the coil tap feature but people say it wears fast and is unreliable even though my jackson soloist has never failed me. my esp horizon id say, is way better in craftsmanship and playibility with a thinner neck, unbelievable low action and super glossy ebony fretboard with emgs. the jackson sounds better with the passive SD's in them compared to the esp, but the emgs better suit my playing style and dont get a majority of their sound from wood resonation. esp wins

  • I think there the same. They both sound good, even the lower end Jacksons and ESP LTDs sound good for there price. I currently own an LTD ax-50 and it sounds great for the price I paid. I wasn't sure weather to get that or a Jackson Kelly, but the ax looks better.

  • Ive owned high end Jacksons, and ESP.

It's all in what your hand prefers. They all make a great guitar.

If you want to stop the vibration of the springs, cut strips of foam - place them into your springs at the back of your guitar. Theres lots of videos on youtube showing many ways of how to mute the springs and stop them influencing your sound as much. Vai uses toilet paper.

  • I just bought a jackson for £250 cheap really nice to play but esp are cool but jackson are better

  • I own a Jackson RR24M. Wonderful guitar, I don't regret any of the money spent on it. I've never tried an ESP, but I think models like "Alexi Laiho" ones and similar are just copies of original Jackson models. That's why ESP had to make the lower body wing longer than Jackson's, because of copyright problems.

    My vote goes to Jackson

  • I own an Ltd by ESP right now and I'm looking into buying a Jackson as well.

  • I prefer Jackson, but ESP kicks ass too

  • Ibanez!!!!!:)

  • Japan makes the best guitars for heavy metal...PERIOD!

  • Oo good but it's spectaculary !

  • Ehem, Which is better, I want a unbiased choice, Considering I bought a Jackson King V js32t made from India and Where the fuck does Esp get their shit from?

  • @xbox360ftw123 esp is made in japan but the ltd is made in korea

  • I have an Esp mirage 100fm and its awsome i played my uncles jackson and i have to say my esp is better EsP all Day!!

  • Esp Suck my fucking wank!!!!!!

  • fuck japs USA all the way bitch

  • esp all the way

  • Okay, I just want to clarify some of the stupidity people are saying on here:

Yes, Jackson was bought out by FENDER, BUT!! If you guys knew ANYTHING other than reading bullcrap on the internet then you would realize that Fender specifically kept the same great builders Jackson had BEFORE the buyout even happened. Not only that, Fender even let Jackson keep the same wood suppliers.

Take a tour of the Jackson Factory before someone makes a retarded assumption and pass it off as a fact.

  • @aces519 wait fender owns jackson?

  • @Sk8ingGuitarplayer Yup, that's old news already. Where were you? lol

  • eehhh idk, i prefer ESP

  • i prefer ESP LTD

  • i prefer ESP LTD

  • @jaydog664 there not all gonna be the same most probaly on the high end 1s they will be thiner but ive played a viper before actually 1 of the signature models and its quite a chunkey neck so who knows

  • why cant he just say this infromation himself instead of writing it and putting fucking annoying music to go with it most likely because his balls haven't dropped yet so his voice is not deep enough.

  • @comedybenj your a dick head arnt you

  • @ParkWayDrive011111 your a cunt hole arnt you

  • do you like slayer, of course i prefer the esp

  • DMOmetalguitar I hope you'll answer. Whats better choice? Jackson RR24 or ESP LTD KH-602.

  • JACKSON!!! :))

  • its up to the guitarist how he/she play it

  • ESP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • all jacksons are ugly looking compared to esps.

  • i don't like tremlo systems.

  • Why comparin a overpriced piece of wood to jackson ultimates ?

Just look at their les paul , they stole it haha ;D ( i know they bought license but whatever)

  • Jackson Soloist = Best guitar ever...

  • jackson

  • Jackson FTWWWWWW!!!!!

  • Your videos rules¨!!!!

But if i will hear this music again........... :P
