  • I'm surprised this thing didn't knock your house down with that motor running open headers inside the back porch.. LOL. If the wolf from the 3 Little Pigs ever runs into any problems blowing down any houses, you could always lend him your VMax.

  • SUPER

  • now that my friend is sexy(sound), please dont take this the wrong but, please use yamaha R1 tail or something else. it will look better. just a tip chief. got my own vmax and im still in the process of cutting and fitting a custom tail. very good job on your vmax.

  • how can any idiot not like a perfect idle that sounds like a pro-stock , totally uncorked carbs and exhaust ! I,m almost ready to get rid of my stage 3 jetted dg 6-1 kz1300, well almost ! I might have been ready to plug exhaust with a rag as to not mushroom valves, wives tale ? what did plugs look like, coffee ? P.S. 1st thing i did was drill the rivots out of Dg muffler and use about 6 inches of glass reset screwed 150 dyno !

  • BTW, for those that want to know, the song is Lumberjack by Jackyl.

  • OMG WHAT IS THAT SONG IN THE BEGINING?! please tell me

  • @angelforlight1 sounds like AC/DC but dont know the song title mate.

  • Sounds a frickin beast that! Nice!

  • That is PURE MUSIC! You lucky dog!

  • Rev it a little buddy!!!

  • Ruthless!!

  • Holy Crap!!!

  • Wow. Possibly the best sound on the planet!! WICKED.

  • this is what an talkin abt. the orignal badboy. all mr. mad max

  • damn man! u got urself a beast of a motorcycle ! :P

  • @papaown the kind that passes you while you ride in your momma's prius, and the kind that waits for you at the local pub and listens to talk your shit and back slowly away with your wii controller in hand.

  • @papaown A nigger might rather see a busa than a vmax!!!!

  • @whtpwr01 Not cool dude...not cool!

  • @whtpwr01 haha! with neon lights all over

  • @postmen321

    wtf

  • @papaown i came to see the v-max...

  • @funkengruven91

That's great, you searched for v-max. Putting "not hayabusa" is stupid to put in the title.

  • @papaown The vmax is a legendary muscle bike that oozes testosterone and will rip your fucking arms off just for fun. You don't deserve to ride such a bike, nor be privileged enough to know or understand how awesome it is, which is why you're the ignorant hand-job of a person you are now. Now go drool over your stupid hyperbike bullshit like the rest of the children who can't fathom the fact that it doesn't matter what you ride, it's THAT YOU RIDE. Grow up, stop hating and start learning.

  • @xilix

Thanks for writing that whole paragraph, but since I don't care about an 80's slow ass bike I didn't bother reading your short novel that you wrote. Fyi this bike blows lmao. Have a ncie day.

  • Awesome bike. If you are still watching the comments, I would like to know if you think running open headers on a stock V-Max will hurt it. I live in a state that does not perform any inspections. Really like the sound. Best regards!

  • @teamtwisted would not suggest that even though the stock headers provide enough flow to get the gases past the valves. This was just me in a big hurry to fire him up, and I never rode him without the h or full exhaust. You could dump the canisters without trouble, but I DID NOT TELL YOU THAT!

  • That is Sweet ! love the Mad Max

  • The only chicks that will ride with you are chicks whos hearing aids have dead batteries :) That thang is NASTY crazy retarded bad (in a good way)!!! When is it ready for the road? Post some vids when its ready. Thanks Mate. Mike, NYC

  • The video response above is it. Have had it on the road going on 2 years now.

  • Thats scary. Chicks won't ride with you.

  • Sure they will and do ;)

  • good sound!!!

  • I ran the bike with the canisters off as an example of the sound. Even then the pipes are more than long enough to allow the exhaust to escape without damaging the valves. Ever check out drag pipes on a Hardly Dickenson, they are about half the length of this.

Besides, the bike was completed over 1 year ago and has full HMF exhaust and can be seen in the video response above.

I actually do know what I'm doing ;)))))

  • Falling in love with these bikes more and more, i am looking to start riding next year or so. Cars are getting too expensive to mod in this economy, fun to cost ratio on this project is probably very good.

  • Open headers every now and then damage exhaust valves due to the fact that the valves are near 'superheated' on the engine combustion side and cold on the exhaust side when there's no exhaust pipe backpressue creating a buffer of hot exhaust equalibrium.

  • wont the open exhausts burn your leg

  • oooooohhhhh shit. This sounds fucking amazing.

  • and THIS my friends.....is a REAL bike...goodness...it really does sound like a top fuel dragster! I sware the vmax is my absolute favorite muscle bike....nothing else compares!

  • Great job!

  • Great bike man. but joumust on your paintjob.,man

  • damn!

  • when you revved that bike it sounded like a god damn V8!!! nice bike!!!

  • cerco accessori per modificare v max

  • Sounds just like a god damn Fuel car. Sweet.

  • holy shit thats wat a v twin should sound like

  • i love the sound of a V-4 i like my magna 750 but my dream is to have a v-max

  • orgasmic

  • ummmmm!.nice! you dont need exhaust...its got one one!..lol!...a really awsome woman wouldnt let you do that on the porch!..she'ld have you move the couch out of the living room onto the porch...and bring that SICK beast in out of the elements!...lol!

  • Have you cammed it out or is that stock.

  • Early PCW cams in an early Tourmaster conversion.

The finished restore is running in the video response above.

  • sounds like a freaking dragrace V8 car!!

  • nice gay color

  • Coming from a tool, I take that as a compliment. What color is yours, invisible???

  • haha, invisible.

    that's good!

  • Yeah...

That tool just pretty much rolled over didn't he?

  • sound like the drum,lol

  • Verrry nice. Mine has Cobra 4-4 pipes and slash cuts, so interesting to hear open headers to compare.

  • WAT SONG IS THAT PLZ TELL ME

  • Sorry for the delay.

The tune is : Artist: Jackyl - Song: Lumberjack

  • Brilliant=)

  • alguien me puede decir cual es el nombre de la cancion de este video

  • Loved the noise, ridin' your competition. Got a v65 with a 4 into 1, blew the wolf slip on right off it, Ya think I can run staight pipe @ the track? header ends @ the back wheel.

  • 4 sure you should be able to get away with that.

Had a 85 V65 Sabre myself way back years ago.

  • Dude that's freakin sick man, my dad has a yellow 94 vmax with a complete engine rebuild and running on the bottle, i think he said it runs 10s n/a and mid to low 9's on the bottle, Vmaxs rock

  • omg i just cummed my self

  • wont that kill your valves?

  • This was just during the rebuild process for shits and giggles.

It can hurt your valves if you run pipes too short that don't draw the combustion away. Open stock exhaust on the VMax has tubes more than long enough though.

Check out my other videos and you will find the finished product with full HMF exhaust.

  • Exhausts also blow charge back into engine and pull charge through inlet on valve overlap etc dont forget.

I dont think its a case of drawing combustion away, its the opposite.

    I no expert as such.

Could u not fit downdraft carbs? at the moment the inlet has quite a few turns in it.

Dont these have what look like downdrafts as standard, or some dummy air intake or something?

    These come restricted in england!

    Bloody european union!

    Nice bike!

  • Thanks for the compliments!!!

Back pressure is sort of double loading an air charge. Running lean can be the downside of not enough back pressure, but not the case in this bike.

    These are CV carbs.

  • Interesting thing exhausts, its all about correct length and width, reflected pulses both charge and prevent charge loss from cylinders.

  • sound a bit like a old v8 big block

  • what a DAMN GREAT SOUD so raw, powefulaud damn loud great work man!!

  • that sounds good loud and proud

  • Saw your bike on the vmax forum!!!! It doesn't even look like the same one....AWESOME WORK!!!!

How about some video of the completed project with sound ;))))))))

  • Just posted a video of the finished bike. Thanks for the compliments!!!

  • Yeah where is the video of the finished one? :)

  • Yeah leave it strait pipe and let the Harley guys know your bike can sound good and have more the forty hp!! Maybe re-jet though, it may grenade

  • Thanks for the props.

    This video is way old.....

The bike was finished earlier this month. Go to - vmaxforum (dot) net - and search for Neil-3446 and look at the gallery of photos.

  • Verry nice sound! I love it!! :D

  • leave it like that!

  • I pick my 1996 v-max up tomorrow

  • That bike sounds killer - very beefy.

  • Why do you need those silly little mufflers? That sounds AWESOME as is.

  • thats the sound of hell coming to kick your ass...

  • Sounds killer... kinda like my late grandmother's vibrator... ya always knew when she was cranking up the voltage on that thing.... and she would always say she got in the mood to do late night sewing.. gawd rest her soul....

  • If I recall, your granny also played the Skin Flute very well.

  • omg.. it scares me hahahaha!º

  • As it should Limey ;)

  • dude i love yamahas... am confused as wat to buy an r1 an MT01 or a V-max ? i wud tune it later. i wanna beat turbo busas which r touching speeds of upto 369+kmph. can i fit a V-max 1300 engine in an r1 ? am curious abt ur bikes top speed. cud u reply bak ? i've even mailed yamaha but not yet recieved a reply. do suggest n help if u can. thnx !

  • Anything can be made to work if you have tools, time, & money.

Instead of spending countless thousands of dollars and time tuning, I would suggest this. Buy the 2009 VMAX when it hits the retailers later this year. He will be King of the 1/4 once again without worry!

Around $15K USD is what you'll need to buy a new one. Looks like Yamaha is shooting for just above 200 BHP and low 9's in the 1/4 stock.

  • thanx a lot for the suggestion dude !...thnx again, i will try my luck with the v-max itself !

  • SOUNDS LIKE A NITRO DRAGSTER

  • what a pretty song lol

  • leave it like that!!!!! haha

  • It sounds like bamboo plays on drums

  • how can I get mine to make that sound?

  • sounds like two harleys!! great!!

  • it kinda is haha, well 2 more pistons anyhow

  • Sounds f@cking wicked!!! Aren't you the same guy that put a full Hayabusa USD front end on your Max a few months ago???

I've seen it in the vmax forums and loved it!

  • Yes!

Just check out the VMOA or the VMF for updates.

  • bad sound! it is like a tractor! you have to listen a ducati or a yamaha

  • ducs sound more like tractors than this i think...dont get me wrong i love ducs and this is a Yamaha by the way

  • Thanks for the compliments guys!

  • this is yamaha you moron!!!

  • Bad ass! Very nice, dude.

  • the Vmax is the bike, the sound of that V4 is the best

  • wow that sounds so good.sounds like a top fueler you can hear the sound of each piston.awesome.....

  • dam nice sound!

  • Almost sounds like an old aircraft radial engine! AWSOME!!

  • Thanks...

I'll take that compliment any day of the week. As soon as the HMF is installed, I'll post more.

  • Nice sound mate!

  • sounds like my grandma after eating some cherries xD

  • OMG, Let the 32 people you trapped inside that thing out lol. Sounds like you got a drum line in there.

  • hey man what rear suspension are you running on that?

I'm looking at buying a Vmax and want to replace the stock rear shocks..

  • Those are VTX 1300 shocks. 1300-1800 will work by replacing the shock bushings with vmax stockers.

Lowers the bike about 1" since they are around an inch shorter than stock eye to eye.

  • that sounds f*cking awsome!!. sounds like there's a monster trapped in there. nice job!
