Blake would have been 82 in 1969. He died in 1983 at 96. Like many player piano rolls, this has a "third hand" part added to the treble. Based upon the style, it was probably overdubbed by Blake himself and not a roll editor.
Eubie Blake gets overlooked by many music historians. I believe he was one of the real drivers to bring Jazz before the public. His versatility , long career and influence on young musicians can't be overstated.
I heard Eubie live at the Classic Ragtime Society in Toronto back about 1969. I think it was his 90th or 95th birthday and he put on a great show...even at that age. He ornamented his playing with vocal discussion of the days when he and Noble Sissle were partners writing musicals in NYC.
