If I were the coach at Washington, I would whip out these old tapes a lot and really emphasize the tradition the Huskies have. I know that sounds like stating the obvious, but I say it for a particular reason. That is, Washington was an absolute POWERHOUSE at one time, but these kids coming out of high school right now are way too young to remember that. "Washington Husky Football" just isn't the name brand that it was in the '80s and '90s. They need to get that back.

@jackhandy00 That was Jim Lambright's idea. Purple helmets had been in use by the Huskies back when he was a player, so I guess it was a chance for him to travel down "memory lane." Too bad, as one guy I know put it: "They looked like Skittles."

It's been so long since UW was decent in football, I remember them coming to Ann Arbor (where I live) and they lost to Michigan at a last second FG. They were a top 10 team at that time and since then they've been irrelavent. If Sark and his staff keep doing what their doing, it won't be long to see UW in the rose bowl. Nice video and I definitely remember that 2001 game and UW's FG block on michigan. Interesting stuff.

A lot of this is Brunnell. I went to almost every home game that season, and barely in my teens. We'd buy tickets from the students. The defense was scary, the Purple Reign! Good times. Nice to see the AD finally decided to put the program back together. I hope Sark brings the James tradition back.

Also it is great to see some of the 80s -90's clips of the team playing with a sense of panache not commonly seen at any school today. A kid makes a play, pops straight up and practically gets carried off the field by his teammates . . . Great stuff!

Unfortunately, this video is missing out on some of the bigger moments like the 85 and 01 Rose bowls as well as some key players. I didn't have any clips for Reggie Williams or those games so the highlights in this video are all I really had access to.
