I believe that Ahiru will turn into a human again by Fakir though.
And even though they got their happy endings and gained their independence from the story, I still feel a bit sad about it. I just don't want this anime to end! ;A;

when i was eight years old i was a ballerina and one day my older cousin showed me this anime, due to a new cable i lost it and never got finish it until now,five years later! I recently got netflix and saw it was on there and started watching all the episodes! Thankgod for netflix! xD lol- well now i have a little 7 year old cousin and decided to show it to her and she loves it too!! man, i just love princess tutu!
I think it was fine. Mytho got his heart restored, Duck did her duty, Rue suffered and sacrificed her heart and pain for him. Duck got a companion for life, even though she suffered much, she will never be alone. FakirxAhiru :)
Forget Fakir writing Ahiru into a human, I am writing my own prequel telling Ahiru's story and she REALLY is a human that was cursed to be a duck until she was able to quit being so selfish and offered everything to save other people instead of herself.
I am still working on the idea. The story is already registered with lulu .com and as soon as it's finished and approved, it will be available to download from Apple's iBookstore and through Barnes and Noble for their Nook eReader. While I am working on this story, I am also working on a sequel that takes place after the series ends, along with the raven's story before the series starts.
i REALLY liked then ending of this show......but i think they should restart the show and have the prince need help from Duck and the other guy (i know his name i just cant spell it >.>) And have duck be princess Tutu again and all of them go into the story and defeat whatever evil thing is hurting or destroying the story and the story's ppl, cause i just finished all the episodes and miss it already!!!!
i have netflex on my wii and it has princess tutu on there it only lets you watch 26 episodes FOR FREE but u have to purchase the other 28(im not sure if its 28 but it close to there) thats where the 2nd season begins :) even though i havnt purchased them yet when i do i wil be sure to find a way to download them to youtube :D
@Yatnaric i have netflix on my ps3 and your watching the instant que. there is only on season and the season only has 26 episodes. the rest of it are the same episodes just on the dvd that you can have them send to your house. i have no idead why they out the dvd episodeds in there but there is only 1 season of princess tutu and it only has 26 episodes
Princess tutu is still ongoing and is a fairly new manga/anime. Personaly i like faiker and duck together (i watched dubbed first on netflix)! My favorite anime :)

You know it just hit me that Fakir was writing a story full of hope right? And rememeber the first ending where Ahiru is asleep and doing the dunk nder the water thing, well shes doing it at the end of the series too, which must mean that Fakirs story may or may not bring her back, note the two sure don't look like they are living in the town but out in the forest togather. Who knows..
This season's ending stinks. Couldn't we have left it at ep. 13 where Rue leaves empty handed and Ahiru gets to dance the pas de deux with her prince. But no...Rue gets Mute, she turns into a duck forever and she watches Rue leave with Mute to live happily ever after. -.-
FIRST- of all let me start off by saying that I hated this ending.For the people who don't understand what in the world this anime is about; here is what it means:
None of this fairytale nonsense was ever well... REAL! It was just about some wacko man who wrote a crazy story and Ahiru (the DUCK) just ended up mixed in that enchantment shit. So somehow that town also got caught up in that nonsense. And for all those people who was hoping Ahiru and Mute would be together he never loved her. SEE
So sad just so sad. In the end ahiru couldn't love the prince and just stayed as a duck. They could at least turn her back to a girl and make her fall for fakair
Yeah, I would have preferred it if Ahiru could somehow stay a girl with Fakir too, then again, I would have liked it better if Autor could have gotten just a little more credit and a requitted love or something. Ahh well!
I think the story's better for ending like this. It makes more sense. The 'reality' of the town was restored, wiping away the more fantastical elements created by Drösselmeyer's story (like animal-people). Making Ahiru the exception would have been a bit strained. Not all endings have to be all roses and pixie dust for everyone. :P

I love the ending. Rue and Mytho!! sooo beautiful. and Ahiru and Fakir are a cute couple! I wish they would continue the story. I want to know if there will be a way for ahiru to live as human forever and marry fakir!! So far, I can tell they'll be very adorable when they grow up into adults. lol

i liked that ending. people changed a bit, but it's ok. the penguin at the piano and the little alligator girl and the armadillo washing his shirt all became humans, and Neko senpai became a regular cat (with a hella a lot of kittens!) and Ahiru and Fakir together. it's all so cute! i'm happy.
i actually like the ending, and is nice that Duck stayed a duck in the episode cause it showed that a small thing can have great power within the heart, and im happy Rue gets Mytho cause now she can start her love for him again and this time he would love her for reals, it looks like Duck wanted to be with Mytho through out the series but we all know she just wanted him to smile and his love for Rue makes him happy so thats her happiness, and in the end Fakir writes about duck becoming a girl
everytime i watch this show, i don't mind the show itslef, but the ending always makes me mad. i mean, come on...at leats give her another pendant so that Ahiru could be with her knight and also be happy. that's how it should have ended. that she conquered her duck form and was given the chance to remain human.
@TheLoneRebelFighter But the story isn't about 'conquering' who you really are. The story is about accepting and being your real self, even if a different role would feel more comfortable. Ahiru is Ahiru, and that is just how it should be. Her happiness comes from the sacrifices she made for her friends and the strength of her character comes from her selflessness and absolute willingness to help them, even at the expense of her own happiness. In the end, she still comes out alright.
@TheLoneRebelFighter I think that would've defeated the point of the series. The main lesson of the show? It's OK to be yourself, no matter who you are: whether you're a duck, a prince, a terrified knight crippled by feelings of inadequacy or the adopted daughter of a demon. Fakir loves her despite her being a duck: she doesn't NEED to change herself to gain his love. she already has it. Fakir said he'd never leave her, and he means it. In a way, i think that's sweeter :3
I accepted the ending really quickly, even though I don't want it to end. Besides, Fakir has the power to write stories about her that come true so we can imagine that he would eventually turn her back into a human.

Such a sad but correct ending. After all..the Town is no longer under an enchantment, so Duck must return to being what she really, truly is. She never was human to begin with; she fulfilled her role in the story, and now she must return to her true form. Absolutely one of the most brilliant, and original anime I've ever seen. regardless of what most people think, I actually liked the weird old man. Say what you want about him, but he can tell a story. It's fine that the story ended in happiness, but tragedy would have been good too. Never forget that the best literary works end in such a manner.
They do know that if Ahiru lives as a duck she'll die WAY before Fakir does? They won't really live together that long. If Fakir is supposedly writing the ending why cant he make her human? Better yet, make Mytho turn her human if he can go around flying in a chariot flown by swans... If not another season they at least need an ova or alternate series.... Make sure they kiss while you're at it.... denial is bad for the soul...

I get to watch the secondary character's romance completely bloom, to the point where she KISSES the one she loves, but I don't get to watch AHIRU, the main character, have a fully fleshed-out romance.
I didnt actually like the ending much;bcus the prince chose the dark hair girl in the end and Ahiru stayed a duck for the rest of her life.i mean,Ahiru and Fakir are a good pairing but I just think Ahiru deserves to be paired with the prince( more than the dark hair girl derseves) and at least stay human...
I find it kind of stupid that Mytho just suddenly decides to love Rue because she screamed "I love you" even though before in the series he kept on saying (well pointing out) that he loved Tutu eg. when he mimicked the love thing :DD
If Tutu could, she would've told Mytho that she loved him a looong time ago but unfortunately she couldn't :((
As for Rue I think she was selfish and wanted Mytho only to herself and most of this is because of her :/
@smilezarecool Well... Mytho didn't actually love Tutu. The "feeling" which he couldn't put a name to was actually hope, as he declares in one of the earlier episodes (it was either the one before this or this one I believe). He placed the emotion of love with Tutu, because there was no emotion closer to hope, I think. Besides, the love shard was tainted by raven blood, so that also, might have had something to do with it.... Mmm, but it's really just speculation. xD
No wonder Nekozawa-sensei never found a girl. There were no other cats around. Anyway, thanks for posting this. Princess Tutu is one of my ever fav anime and manga, and the weirdness in it just makes it all better.

NO WAY! Why would the author add Rue to the story and make Fakir fall in love with Ahiru?! If I were the owner of Princess Tutu, I would make Rue and Fakir a couple (besides...they both look cold), replace Rue/Fakir or Fakir and Rue give up Ahiru and Mytho and permanantly change Ahiru into a human and make Mytho and Ahiru marry at the end of the final episode! Um, hello! AHIRU was the one who was added to the story- not Rue. Rue was always involved in the story, as she's the Raven's "daughter". Rue and Fakir...? Seriously? I'd personally prefer Autor and Rue instead, but Mytho is the only one who can truly love Rue, which is stated many times in the story.
And why doesn't anyone get that Tutu isn't supposed to be with Mytho? Didn't ANYONE pay attention to the part in this episode where it's revealed that what Mytho was feeling for Tutu was hope?

If you ask me I think they show redo the whole story line again where a pendent just drop out of the sky into the water while Ahiru is swimming when she the pendent she put it on and she autmatically turn back into a human, she happy, fakuri happy and the whole damn world is happy or least Fakiru can write this damn!

I love the ending. Rue and Mytho!! sooo beautiful. and Ahiru and Fakir are a cute couple! I wish they would continue the story. I want to know if there will be a way for ahiru to live as human forever and marry fakir!! So far, I can tell they'll be very adorable when they grow up into adults. lol

I hope Fakir writes that story so that Ahiru isn't always a duck. That would be cute, even if the anime never continues. :D I love them together, just as much as Mytho and Rue. <3

i liked that ending. people changed a bit, but it's ok. the penguin at the piano and the little alligator girl and the armadillo washing his shirt all became humans, and Neko senpai became a regular cat (with a hella a lot of kittens!) and Ahiru and Fakir together. it's all so cute! i'm happy.

i actually like the ending, and is nice that Duck stayed a duck in the episode cause it showed that a small thing can have great power within the heart, and im happy Rue gets Mytho cause now she can start her love for him again and this time he would love her for reals, it looks like Duck wanted to be with Mytho through out the series but we all know she just wanted him to smile and his love for Rue makes him happy so thats her happiness, and in the end Fakir writes about duck becoming a girl

everytime i watch this show, i don't mind the show itslef, but the ending always makes me mad. i mean, come on...at leats give her another pendant so that Ahiru could be with her knight and also be happy. that's how it should have ended. that she conquered her duck form and was given the chance to remain human.

@TheLoneRebelFighter But the story isn't about 'conquering' who you really are. The story is about accepting and being your real self, even if a different role would feel more comfortable. Ahiru is Ahiru, and that is just how it should be. Her happiness comes from the sacrifices she made for her friends and the strength of her character comes from her selflessness and absolute willingness to help them, even at the expense of her own happiness. In the end, she still comes out alright.

@TheLoneRebelFighter I think that would've defeated the point of the series. The main lesson of the show? It's OK to be yourself, no matter who you are: whether you're a duck, a prince, a terrified knight crippled by feelings of inadequacy or the adopted daughter of a demon. Fakir loves her despite her being a duck: she doesn't NEED to change herself to gain his love. she already has it. Fakir said he'd never leave her, and he means it. In a way, i think that's sweeter :3

I accepted the ending really quickly, even though I don't want it to end. Besides, Fakir has the power to write stories about her that come true so we can imagine that he would eventually turn her back into a human.

T_T Sniff! Such a sad and yet beautiful ending. This is one of the best stories I've seen. I'm happy for Mytho and Rue :) But at the same time I'm really sad for Fakir and Ahiru. They should've been able to live together as a cute cute couple D: But still this is beautiful.

Such a sad but correct ending. After all..the Town is no longer under an enchantment, so Duck must return to being what she really, truly is. She never was human to begin with; she fulfilled her role in the story, and now she must return to her true form. Absolutely one of the most brilliant, and original anime I've ever seen. So glad I bought this.

regardless of what most people think, I actually liked the weird old man. Say what you want about him, but he can tell a story. It's fine that the story ended in happiness, but tragedy would have been good too. Never forget that the best literary works end in such a manner.

They do know that if Ahiru lives as a duck she'll die WAY before Fakir does? They won't really live together that long. If Fakir is supposedly writing the ending why cant he make her human? Better yet, make Mytho turn her human if he can go around flying in a chariot flown by swans... If not another season they at least need an ova or alternate series.... Make sure they kiss while you're at it.... denial is bad for the soul...

I didnt actually like the ending much;bcus the prince chose the dark hair girl in the end and Ahiru stayed a duck for the rest of her life.i mean,Ahiru and Fakir are a good pairing but I just think Ahiru deserves to be paired with the prince( more than the dark hair girl derseves) and at least stay human...

I find it kind of stupid that Mytho just suddenly decides to love Rue because she screamed "I love you" even though before in the series he kept on saying (well pointing out) that he loved Tutu eg. when he mimicked the love thing :DD
If Tutu could, she would've told Mytho that she loved him a looong time ago but unfortunately she couldn't :((
As for Rue I think she was selfish and wanted Mytho only to herself and most of this is because of her :/

@smilezarecool Well... Mytho didn't actually love Tutu. The "feeling" which he couldn't put a name to was actually hope, as he declares in one of the earlier episodes (it was either the one before this or this one I believe). He placed the emotion of love with Tutu, because there was no emotion closer to hope, I think. Besides, the love shard was tainted by raven blood, so that also, might have had something to do with it.... Mmm, but it's really just speculation. xD

NO WAY! Why would the author add Rue to the story and make Fakir fall in love with Ahiru?! If I were the owner of Princess Tutu, I would make Rue and Fakir a couple (besides...they both look cold), replace Rue/Fakir or Fakir and Rue give up Ahiru and Mytho and permanantly change Ahiru into a human and make Mytho and Ahiru marry at the end of the final episode! (Screams in range)

Um, hello! AHIRU was the one who was added to the story- not Rue. Rue was always involved in the story, as she's the Raven's "daughter". Rue and Fakir...? Seriously? I'd personally prefer Autor and Rue instead, but Mytho is the only one who can truly love Rue, which is stated many times in the story.
And why doesn't anyone get that Tutu isn't supposed to be with Mytho? Didn't ANYONE pay attention to the part in this episode where it's revealed that what Mytho was feeling for Tutu was hope?

It was all magical but the end was the painstaking hanging. Should be ending like the protagonist turning into human, since the whole story is fairytale let it end like just like a fairytale.
