i've been trying to figure out the man of this show for ages, i vaguely recalled roddy mcdowell in the series, checked on his imbd and found it! remember it being very cool as a kid, but not a series that lasted very long.

I love Robert Conrad too -- think he was the best leading man on tv ever -- but he did get to star in more shows than anyone else, and only a few of them were any good. I doubt he would have had such a chance if 1) the Wild Wild West hadn't been so incredibly good and 2) he hadn't been so incredibly good looking.

Love the S2 Land Rover at the beginning.Such a shame so many have been blown up in films and on TV.Usually in an African setting though.Unusual to see in an American show though.

I remember this, but I was beginning to think I was the only one. At the time, it was great, but I bet if I saw it now, it would be crap. One thing, perhaps someone can help me here - if my poor ol memory serves me correctly, was not the large black man with the metal hand a "baddie" in the first (pilot?) episode but then became a "goodie" in the subsequent ones? It must have been 25+ years since I last saw it and I am probably wrong.

One reason why I watched this show is because I anticipate clever new tricks with your mechanical hand ( which you do every series). I would say you are a big part of the excitement of this erstwhile show. Its one of those shows that line-up with Charlies Angels,Six million dollar man,Primus, etc. in 80s Manila.

Didn't Torque start off in the pilot film as a villain or henchman to the main villain and got strangled by his own robotic hand.

Yes, he was a bad guy initially. Another actor played Sloane in that film, too. I don't think the pilot actually aired until after this show went off the air. I thought Sloane was a pretty good show, but it came out at the wrong time, long after the sky craze had faded.

As to the show being cancelled it could have been because of poor ratings. The ratings system in America make no sense to me, there have been shows that I thought were great but came up low in ratings so were cancelled.

Wow...and I really, REALLY want this episode in particular, being that I'm a HUGE Robert Culp fan and a huge QM fan. Interesting that this is the only QM series where the star's name is above the title--Quinn had sold the company by this time and would NEVER have put any actor's name above the show's title--and one of two QM series to not have the trademark announcer (the other being QM's Tales of the Unexpected).
