Following your definition, freedom doesn't really exist. Freedom without boundaries is utterly meaningless in the human context. I actually wasn't referring to Faurrison in particular; he's just an example of Chomsky's love of anything that gives him attention including Holocaust denial.
The specific example I was thinking of isn't actually Holocaust denial I suppose, instead it glorifies the Holocaust. And it wasn't a foreword, it was just an endorsement, but that's still pretty bad. I'm talking about "Jewish History, Jewish Religion."

I can't say I agree with Penn on this one. You have the right to free speech. True. But that right exists primarily for intelligent conjecture. The spirit of that law is to allow you to voice your opinion in a proper setting without fear of being squelched by the government or "special interest groups". It does NOT, however, grant you the right to essentially troll people in public. Sometimes you just need to shut your trap. However, I notice that people are too quick to be offended these days.

Following your definition, freedom doesn't really exist. Freedom without boundaries is utterly meaningless in the human context. If we had infinite freedom, we would have no freedom at all, because you'd be restricted by the whims of petty individuals who happen to have more power than you. The specific example I was thinking of isn't actually Holocaust denial I suppose, instead it glorifies the Holocaust. And it wasn't a foreword, it was just an endorsement, but that's still pretty bad. I'm talking about "Jewish History, Jewish Religion."
But on the subject of Faurisson, Chomsky has deliberately called the far-right reactionary a liberal. Why would he do that if he didn't want to endorse his writings?
