This is a Tale from one thousand and one nights, he is from Baghdad and NOTTTT Morocco..The show was Made in Japan and then dubbed to Arabic in the late 70's or early 80's ..Not exactly sure.And it was a huge hit for the whole generation all over the middle east.
Arabian Naito Shindobatto no Bōken one of the first Nippon Animation cartoon since 1975 on the dutch tv KRO was te series in 1979 to 1981 and in the 90" they repeat the series on the channel kindernet :) i love the cartoon
This cartoon was a major hit in the Middle East. So much so, that in Dubai they had two video arcades (one of them was the best and most well known in the whole city until they opened the Deira City Centre), and a brand of potato chips named after the Sindibad character with his likeness on them.
