2. Don't rev the engine to try and look cool unless the clutch is in and disengaged.(also helps if you're not turning in case you release the clutch with too many revs on and fall of like a chump)

@pengsman Laws are different over here you have to off done your compulsory basic training first over here which allows you to ride up to and including 125cc then you need to do the full test which is split into 2 parts. Mod 1(which is all done on a lot with cones etc) and mod 2 the full road test. Ive done my mod 1 so far on a bigger 500cc kawasaki er-5n alot more power than my 125 but bit more power than your 250 still nothing to write home about.

@kongjulien I had a Gilera DNA 125(Auto) before my current one which was like that pretty quick for a 125 now i have a Honda CG which is a lot slower but its geared and good on the mileage and to learn gears on though.

The other one was alot of fun but unreliable as hell glad i got rid of that hunk of crap.

@Kohenkio Well legally where i come from in the UK you have to do the CBT test first(compulsory basic training) which allows you to ride up to and including a 125cc bike. Once thats done you can go straight from that and do the Direct access course and once completed ride anything at all. Either way you do learn first on a 125cc bike even if you never own one yourself.

And yeah ive ridden a larger one there not the same they have more power and are heavier, but to me its about learning basics on something easy first and being comfortable with that before i buy a potential death trap :P

Dude thats a Fireblade CBR 929rr. They only made these 2 years 2000 2001. He should start out riding a 600 at most. People get scared and grab the breaks and then you crash.... If you get out of control dont panic and grab the gas this might save you. I got tank slap on my 929 I dropped from 2nd gear to 1st and ripped the gas and pulled out of it. I think a bike with gas will right itself most of the time so dont hit the breaks and put your foot down. Grab gas and hold on!!!

@LiveFreeOrRIP His foot is never on the peg he didnt grab the breaks, he broke that cold tire loose felt it spin got scared cut the throttle and caused the spinning tire to now get grip throwing him into a high side. Your right about what to do in a tank slapper but this was a high side 2 very different scenarios.

I almost flipped a wheelie and hit the rear break and saved it but almost crashed when the bike came down due to the waight and the rear break pulling it down hard. was NOT good =(. The only real crash I had was a flipped stopy. Minor damage to the bike but my head on the pavement hurt for the 1st minute.
