B.O.'s Foreign policy is pass the koolaid and sing Kumbuyah. Obviously Powell is in favor of that. It is the language of the democracies puking at the UN.
What if it works? What if talking to your enemies and being the example of integretous, thoughtful, and fair minded leadership does inspire people all over the world to choose better leaders. He inspires even our enemies. That's outstanding for an American President. And it's what Alquida and the Taliban fear the most.
actually "Einstein" the technology to harness nuclear energy was developed by Jewish scientist in the 1930's ever heard of j.Robert Oppenheimer? or "Einstein" .. Einstein lol
Bush & the Republicans have lost ALL respect from ALL countries in the world (even NATO countries), especially now after the terrible 'sub-prime' fiasco; which has also fucked the whole world economically... NOW NO ONE OUTSIDE OF AMERICA TRUSTS BUSH OR THE REPUBLICANS ANY MORE!
USA NEEDS SOMEONE THAT THE WORLD WILL RESPECT & LISTEN TO.
BTW, THE REST OF THE WORLD REALLY DOESN'T CARE WHAT COLOUR HIS SKIN IS - IT'S WHAT'S BETWEEN HIS EARS & IN HIS HEART THAT MATTERS!
Bush you are to blame for this one - where was your judgment on this -Some General???? Poor, poor troops!!! He would be shot for treason in the country I was born in
Actually, Asians score higher than blacks OR whites in intelligence and aptitude tests. Asians outnumber every race-type on Earth. The typical Earth-Human is of Asian Appearance, NOT caucasoid.
liberals who wouldn't really like him and don't know who he is are going to exploit it. In a bit of a different case, Biden had .3% of support when running for President, but since he has credibility Democrats suddenly love him as VP. I hate Democrats and starting to hate Republicans, Neo-cons and fudamentalists anyway. Both need a fucking brain, Best Administration would be one in which Biden, Powell, McCain, and Gates were all in Cabinet. But they don't have "energy or "spirit.fucking idiots
YES!! someone with GOOD JUDGEMENT!!! he is a republican that has made up his mind Hmmmmm since Maccain picked Palin suppose that did the trick!!! she is not qualified enough she has a degree in journalism give me a break, I have a degree in arts and humanities, science, and licensed by OHIO STATE MEDICAL BOARD for massotherapy 3.897GPA I AM NOT NOT NOT SMART ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT OR VICE PRESIDENT. ***Please vote smart------ vote Obama/Biden
Colin Powell is great leader and a great American who has great respect from world leaders. He's also respected by our military and would be a asset to be apart of Obama's cabinet.
I think maybe Obama should bring Powell aboard to his white house staff if he wins...
Powell has always been one of the better republicans, I think if he were running, this would actually be a race... He stepped up to serve the country when times were tough, but George W. Bush didn't do him right, they lied about WMD's, and basically threw Powell under the bus.
Yup and I don't blame it from his perspective. Ive liked Obama at times and been disappointed with the Republican party just like Powell, but Im not black and he said that was a fundamental part of his decision but not the final part. That doesn't mean he wants a bunch of stupid liberals exploiting his endorsement. I respect it and really like Colin Powell, he's one of my ideals.
The biggest problem with inexperience is the person can't deal with surprises and there is a lot of them when you are president.
Example: When the Soviets began sending missiles to Communist Cuba, Kennedy's inexperience reigned in and it got close... thankfully it only got close.
another example of course would be 2 planes crashing into the wtc. McCain has been in wahsington for 25 years, he's dedicated his life to the country if he isn't ready to be president of this country nobody is
i'm sure momsincharge knows way more about Obama, foreign relations and politics than 5 star general, former secretary of state Colin Powel. Thank you enlightening us.
Colin Powell is a unique Republican. He actually puts his country ahead of his politics. He is one of the few - possibly the only Republican - who care more about what is good for the United States and not only what is good for the GOP.
And that is exactly why Powell ultimately did not endorse Obama durind the Democratic Convention.Obama comes with too much baggage. His shady past, with some, not so shady has made Powell realize that Obama will cause terrorism to rise if elected President.
How can Colin Powell endorse this poser? Obama has never produced anything in his career that has had any significance. His books are not biographies, they are works of fiction.
Colin Powell has a track record of backing the wrong horse.
Powell did not endorse Obama Momsincharge. I think he ultimatelly realized that this man's poor judgement and consistent lies about his ties to Wright and Ayers and Rezko, makes him a poor choice for todays dangerous times.
I'm so glad he didn't. Powell has always had my respect. I was so embarrassed for him when he delivered the traveling labs story to the UN for the Bush administration. The speculation was that he would endorse and I was responding to that, thank you.
Just to let you know.. people really are'nt interested in that anymore if his ties were that strong then he wouldnt even be in this position.....which is why Colin Powell has endorse Obama today
Many of you on here have made some very good points about Colin Powell. I too, am glad that Powell distanced himself from the Bush administration! Many felt that being part of this administration for the first couple of years ruined his credibility. I understand what people are saying but to me, Colin Powell's reputation is definitely in tacked as far as i'm concerned. It really doesn't matter if Powell is a Republican or Democrat! He's just a great man and a fine American!
Republicans and Democrats are all the same. anyone who thinks ANY politician is a "great man" or woman is delusional at best and better pucker up for when tha bastards drop their pants
Senate and Congress pass LOWS not the president??? so even though I admire her for all she have done and where she wants to take the country: WE be better of 'w' her as a Vice President!!

Powell was a career soldier and soldiers often place loyalty before conscience. His delayed departure from the Bush Administration should be considered as a critique of the Bush policy.
Powell is a member of the Bohemian Grove! What is the funniest is Wolf Blitzer is an Israeli agent and we let him go on our airwaves and spew his propaganda!Look it up type in Wolf Blitzer and zionism! They are the most extreme religious group there is!
What did I say hat was wrong? If you actually did some research you would know that what I am saying is true! All media is owned by zionists why do you think you never hear about the disgusting things Israel does to the Palestinians, why did you not hear about Israeli involvement in 9/11?So don't get a life get a brain get some knowledge step up your game!
I think Obama should seek his advice if he's elected. Barack will probably be met with a lot of criticism if he does so because of the WMD"S incidence but I think Colin Powell is an American gem that should not be ignored.
At least Obama has something Powell agreed, foreign policies. I have no doubt he's going to vote for Obama...who wouldn't....the guy has all the ingredients necessary to be a president.
He has neither the intelligence or the backbone to be President but he has the votes courtesy of acorn and the corrupt Washington morons with more money than sense.
Obama said that if elected, he himself would, within his first year, meet with leaders of Iran. Powell was talking about conservations, diplomacy via envoys and ambassadors, which is a position much more similar to Hillary's.
Uhhh, I guess you didn't catch that he said that he is a "republican" Get real. He said he is watching all of the candidates. I like Obama just fine, don't think he is our President, but he is 10 fold better than Hillary.
Colin Powell is the man who should have ran, not Obama.
He should be involved in an Obama cabinet somehow. It would be a great bi-partisan gesture as well as beefing up foreign policy credentials. Aside from the tragic presentation of the WMD case to the UN, this is one military leader I would trust. Might've prevented 8 years of Bush, if he'd ran in 2000.
I totally agree with this. Powell knows the belly of how we got in this war, Barack wants to get us out, and Powell is willing to talk, it's better for our country. It's about time a candidate started looking at common sense.

To everyone who thinks that Obama doesnt have the experience to lead
Think of Kennedy and Reagen.
Also, don't insult the presidency you douchebags. NO ONE HAS THE EXPERIENCE to be president except for the 4 living ex presidents
That being said, no president has resigned in recent history because of "inexperience" or "inability to make a tough decision"
Presidents make decisions that they value. Bush won't vote Pro-Choice and Obama won't vote Pro-Life. Etc.
