  • This dude's got one helluva imagination, awesome! Haha

  • Just picked one up today, first firearm that I bought its a 1943 Tula

  • fun video! this is my first rifle, everyone always wants to shoot it when i take it out! :)

  • another good un'

  • Those are surplus rounds right

  • Hey man i live in Tennesse. Where abouts are you great Anderson County here

  • @H3lld0g10 It IS legal in California! And tge smallest amount of milsurp ammo for the Mosin you can purchase is 440 rounds. It's ok, more ammo the better.

  • Great video! Love my mosin's as well. Happy new year hickok45!! Thanks.

  • Squirrels possums and zombies ... Oh my!

  • oh ok i was thiinking of getting one do they use .308 or only 7.62x54R

  • @blackboxskater12 only 7.62x54R

  • @blackboxskater12 7.62x54R only. You can take it to a gunsmith and have the gun rechambered, but why? The 7.62x54R is cheaper and the recoil difference isn't all that significant. Get one! It's the number one selling gun of 2011!

  • wow the recoil seemed really mild, butt plate?

  • @blackboxskater12 alot of people think the mosin has bad recoil but it really dosent

  • @97bighunter I know. I hear a lot of whining from my friends who are used to shooting smaller rifles like AR15s and .22LRs. Whenever I speed shoot with my friends, I don't completely or properly shoulder the rifle so when I pull the trigger, it hits me, but it really doesn't hit that bad.

  • I don't like pop(soda) either, but you must REALLY hate it, you shoot it up all the time.

  • @EviLNox8 It's all coke here in Tennessee. lol

  • i know this sonds dumb but it seems like you travled to russia just to shoot the rifle.

  • @MrDannysuzy He's just joking. It's his own property. He's a funny guy. LOL

  • Little rifle? Lol maybe that carbines but the standard 91/30 is.....

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!!!

  • "I'm used to looking out for squirrels and possums and zombies" he he.

  • Im Russian and I love to see americans with such a good view of Russia because of the history between our countries.

  • @ETOTHECOREGamin I love Russian guns. I love America 'n all, but I'm not too fond of the M4/M16 platform. I would take the AKs over them any time. I plan on getting an M44 after my SKS and eventually an AK

  • @ETOTHECOREGamin You're about as russian as I am martian.

  • @ETOTHECOREGamin It's a shame more of us couldn't get along, the fighting has just brought harm when if we didn't have to bother arguing with one another then we might finally be able to modernize places in which people die of starvation assuming the violence doesn't get them. The solution won't come from fighting.

  • You gotta love the ones he does in the woods!

  • He's like a little kid playing make-believe. That was funny as all heck.

  • 'He bled all over the snow." Nice and morbid, I like it a lot.

  • Hey if your doctor says stop shooting guns for awhile and talk a walk for some exercise just do a wood walk.

  • That rifle looks at home in the snow! I live in the N. Ga. mountains, probably not too far from you actually. When it snow I love just taking my rifles in the snow, just cause its cool.

  • hickok... dude... do you ever get tired of being so damn cool

  • @84NmG just clean it it smack it around a bit it's what its made to do

  • very cooltwo thumbs up

  • were u in vietnam , u talk about ambushes alot lol

  • Any yes when i shoot a garand Im holding back a German assault...an Enfield Im upholding the Empire against bands of scimitar weilding raiders...a nagant defending the streets of stalingrad by making the germans pay for each block and a colt SA well call me quick-shot... I think if more people knew how fun and safe shooting really is more people would enjoy the shooting sports!

  • I think what I like best about these videos (besides you know...GUNS) is that even at his age he's still a kid at heart and so thoroughly enjoys having fun with his chosen toys...and in that I see myself...who at 37 turns into the same wide eyed kid at every gunshow...and literally several hundred guns later...each and everytime I shoot something new

  • i was waiting for something to pop out like in the zombie training

  • but how much did you pay for yours

  • Comment removed

  • @barretthekid , Nobody ever gets "ripped off" on anything, provided they were not forced to purchase something against their will. A purchase or transaction is a mutual agreement between two parties. If I'd paid $1,000.00 for the gun, I was not "ripped off." Everybody has the right to charge or pay whatever they choose for a product. Sorry, couldn't resist the Economics & Life Lesson 101. It so happens, I did not get "ripped off," even if such a thing were possible. :-)

  • I meant Svt-40

  • @Hickok45 I think it would be interesting to see you do a review on the Tokarev SVD-40. Always wanted to see a real review on that rifle

  • Some say that the mosin nagant has a sticky bolt. you mind giving me your opinion.

  • @WahyaUwayi666 i never had a problem with mine

  • need more birch and pine trees for it it be Russia

  • Those pesky tennesse zombies are the worst!

  • I'm suprised you didn't have to bayonet any evil 2 liters.

  • A Nagant looks best with that sword thing called a bayonet on the end of it. Make's the thing awkward to shoots but looks intimidating.

  • @Migs4000 "sword thing" lmao it is pretty damn long

  • @cheeverracing89

More like what the inmates use to pick garbage off the side of the highway with.

  • see hickok the nagants grow on ya! haha

  • this was filmed in Russia??

  • Always enjoy your videos, hickok45. Keep up the good work!

  • hey hickok ur vidoes always bring a smile to my face

  • In Soviet Russia, Hicok45 shoots YOU

  • @man11withaplan I don't think anyone wants to mess with Hickock45 in the first place!

  • if i shot at a dead tree with my m44 at about 10 meters do you think it would go trough? (the tree is about 40 cm thick)

  • @MrToadland1 M44s will have lower muzzle velocity just from having a shorter barrel than the 91/30, but I used to break cinderblocks in half with my M44 from about 100 yards, so probably. Would also depend on the ammo you use.

  • @MrToadland1 Who knows? I doubt it. I would assume the M44s have a lower muzzle velocity due to the shortened barrel, but it shouldn't be all that significant. My 91/30 punches holes in 3/4in steel plates with Russian milsurp like a hot knife through butter.

  • "The wrong impression of...." lol

  • i just found a mosin 91/30 online for $69 plus the $10 hand select ( they pick the nicest one out of the box), would it be worth it? i heard they were real nice shooting guns

  • @quadracer13x If you can find a store that sells them I'd recommend going there first. Probably the best and most fun gun I've bought, managed to find a gun with all matching serials that functions perfectly

  • You need some stripper clips i got a m44 and stripper clips make shooting a breeze

  • hum i geuss the russians have orange soda than?

  • I'm interested in buying a Mosin Nagant myself, but since these things have been lying around so long, what if i end up with a crudded up barrel? Any way to clean it deep after all those years?

  • @XtremeConditioning Mosins are packed in cosmoline so all you have to do is remove all that and its usually well preserved.

  • @XtremeConditioning You should check before you purchase one. Remember that when these rifles were decommissioned, they were dunked in vats of molten cosmoline to protect them from aging. There is likely to be cosmoline residue in the barrel and everywhere else. Before you fire it, strip the gun down (including the bolt) and take some mineral spirits to wherever the cosmoline is. To rid the barrel of cosmoline, I used a mixture of windex and Hoppes 9 gun solvent.

  • I was kind of hoping for a bayonet charge at the end. ;-)

Loved the vid - Great fun you're having in "Russia."

  • Hi Hickok , pretty cool of you walking the wood's and snow like training in russia,

I saw the bottles and orange juice in the trees and green stuff too,

that mosin make's a good racket too,

    Mine's a Tula made 91-30,

  • I have one of these shoulder breaking, eardrum busting, shockwave producing bad MF'ers myself. 1939 Ishevsk built 91/30. Just curious about yours... is it a Tula or Izhevsk... or maybe a Finn? 7.62x54r.net has a wealth of knowledge on the markings and a great forum. Would love to see some pics of the barrel markings!

  • Hey hickok, could you give me an idea of the kick of the Mosin

  • I need a scope for mine but it will cost more then the gun any advice?

  • AWESOME VID. I love mosins. Getting one ASAP. Make more vids with your mosin, please!

  • Hey Hickok, do you own a K31? If so, could you do a vid with it sometime? :)

    -Fellow K31 owner/lover

  • Exelent video. Exelent Mosin Nagant... I love it

  • Hey hickok what do you think of the mosin in general. are there any major issues?

  • @Acekiller1995 , Not really that I know of. It's a good little rifle. My first choices in bolt action rifles would be the Enfield or Mauser, but is a nice gun, too.

  • @hickok45 Can I ask why you say the Enfield or Mauser first?

  • @hickok45 Little? The 91/30 is 50" long!

  • @hickok45 Hey Hickok, do you have any experience with Mojo aperture sights? if not, the website is mojosights(dot)com. I believe they're set up like the krebs peep sights on your arsenal AK. I 've heard they're a decent improvement over the issue sights, but haven't tried them out myself

  • @hickok45 The Mosin Nagant is the weapon of choice for the 3 best snipers in history. The most kills with it was 505 during 100 days in the Finnish, Russian war between 39-40. Amazing, huh?

  • @Acekiller1995 Lots of lower quality ones have a sticky bolt issue, but you get used to it pretty fast. (Mine has a sticky bolt ;])

  • The Russian back woods look a lot like the back woods in Tennessee, also no bayonet action!? Next time a nice bayonet stab to some melons would be interesting.

  • I'm disappointed! No bayonet action. I figured at least one Pumpkin had it coming.

    Just joking.... Great videos! :)

  • I'm disappointed! No bayonet action. I figured at least one Pumpkin had it coming.

    Just joking.... Great videos! :)

  • You know, this actually does look like the Russian wilderness near Moscow

  • Wow

  • the rifle is much louder than the video mic can pick up sadly :l first time i shot mine i didnt think it was going to be too loud and almost blew my hearing out

  • @bandofbrothers122 yeah, the only guns you can fire w/o hearing protection is a .22. And even then, sometimes the small .22 pistols make my ears ring.

  • @Olah92sVids i dont really like to wear hearing protection but...have to lol but a voice recorder next to you is the next best thing to hear the sound of a beautiful rifle

  • The snow crunching under your boots give me the chills.

  • Haha "I got him, he bled all over the snow"

Hickok has no mercy for the enemy!

  • Hahhahaa A right wing, shooting a communist made gun! Those things cost like $60 bucks, which goes completly against what those fought for! OH IRONY I LOVE YOU!

  • Where is the bayonet?

  • I've loved that gun ever since various Medal of Honours! I'd hate to break into your house! Paddy (Poland, next to mother Russia)

  • 7.62x54R and 8mm are about the cheapest large caliber rounds you can buy. That i know of. I own a Mosin and a 8mm Mauser.

  • Stupid question, but this looks like the M44 for the M91/30, am i correct? I own the M91/30.. i couldn't beat the deal i got ($100 for the excellent condition rifle, bayonet, pouches, 40 rounds ammo, bayonet, and other accessories).

  • How much is it for ammo ? I'm thinking about getting one

  • Where would one look to find the best deal for one of these online?

  • is the ammo on this one the same as the sks?

  • ugh i want to shoot my 91/30 so bad now

  • what type of round are you shooting

  • 2:12, you can clearly see the barrel "bounce" from the recoil.

  • should the russian boar or bear make its presence known, I have faith the rifle and round should be up to the task. :-)

  • hey hickok i have a question, i really hate the bolt handle on mine. Would it be bad if i bent the bolt handle down? I mean they are not very rare guns so it should be ok right?

  • Hey you must have a good job or if not then retired because you sure have a lot of firearms and ammo. Great video! Im 13 but I like guns. Yesterday my dad took me to the range to shoot 22's. We went through almost 200 rounds through our pistols within an hour. But like I said great video and keep up the good work!

  • Thank you for protecting us. :)

  • hey can you do more vids like this?

  • i love hickok so much hes a funny ass dude

  • This is just like Call of Duty: World at War :)

  • help there is a russian in the woods. :)

  • you did it again hickok I have that gun and wanted to know what it was and you have one

  • i love the role playing

  • You don't train in Mother Russia...Mother Russia trains you!

  • Ah, I love the anti-gun left trying to do the normal scare tactics.

Rachel Maddow claimed that the "Glock 7" (LOL?)is a plastic gun that was made in 1988 and was invisible to metal detectors and that the 7.62mm is an anti-aircraft round.

  • @jigglypiggly haha, the day the 7.62mm becomes and anti-aircraft round will be the day my M1A is considered an AA gun.

  • @jigglypiggly Do you have a citation of when and where she said that?

  • @strayjay From her OWN website.

    h ttp ://w ww .msnbc .msn com /id/ 26315908 //vp /41030180 #41030180

Notice how she brings up a mythical "plastic" Glock and the Anti-aircraft 7.62 round.

  • @strayjay Sorry I had to type the URL out like that, you can't paste URLs into youtube comments.

  • @jigglypiggly That's ok, but you might want to watch that video again. She doesnt say anything about glock making a pistol called the "7" , she said that Glock announced in the '80s that they had the ability to produce a completely plastic gun, which is true. That announcement brought about the vote in congress to ban all-plastic guns. And the "7.62 is an anti-aircraft round " deal is quoted from an ATF document! Rachel Maddow knows nothing about guns, that;s true, but she wasnt blatantly lying.

  • @strayjay ok, I can't find anything that says that glock ever announced that, so she's full of shite there, Ill give you that. But again, I think she was just misinformed about a common myth.

  • @strayjay The whole thing about the glock was mythical.

I'll cede the part about the 7.62, I was listening to the podcast of the show, I just watched the part again and saw the part about the ATF document.

  • @strayjay Verbatim from the end of that video.

""Laws about guns are one of the few things in the world that is un-google-able. In all the things that all of us that work on the show research all day long everyday and all of the days that we work on the show there's a tiny handful of topics that you literally can't do your research about on Google."

  • @strayjay "But laws about guns; that is the one thing that has nothing to do with sex that you can't get any useful information about by Google-ing. Because the gun lobby so completely dominates the debate. Because of that I will not even advise you to do your own independent research about this online. You have to do it at the library and in books. You will not find trustworthy, unbiased, about this online. I'm telling you. "

  • @jigglypiggly where and how did this happen???

  • @MrCameron303 Check the URL I posted earlier.

  • @jigglypiggly Wow...do you have vid of that? It's quite interesting anti-gun people probably has never shot a firearm and probably live in places where houses cost at least $1 million dollars.

  • @jigglypiggly I can understand what they mean but they overlooked the bullets are metal and would be pick up by metal detectors haha

  • I guess you don't like orange soda.

  • i love the sound of a gun shot

  • @abc12319525 That 91/30 has a boom that is all its own too. You dont get that hollow echo with most other rifles.

  • Hickok45, I wish sometimes you would talk about Russian AK-74 rifle. This is an amazing rifle, if you fire tracer rounds against the ground some will tear patches of grass and jump off high. It would make a perfect artistic performance. Thanks for bringing Mosin with you to mother Russia.

  • how do you like those surplus copper washed rounds? my mosin desided to split them down the middle. but brass and steel work perfect.

  • Squirrels Raccoons and Zombies? i know you said bears but what about Zombie Bears?

  • Enfield and a Mosin Nagant. When's the K98 going to get broken out?

  • Do you have a Video on how to properly clean your Mosin?

  • I think i'd start gettin worried about all that lead in those hills getting in my wellwater :)

  • @mantooth126 LOL I was just thinking about that the other day watching this videos

  • Great stuff Hickok45, I like the 44 magnum videos a lot!

Right now Im interested in 44's and retro guns, s&w model 29, 1911's, Mausers walthers.

So anymore old handgun vids comin? (:

  • hey there hickok,i have a question i seen pretty much all of your videos, and havent see you actually hunting why is that? i bet there is alot of people who like to see you doing some hunting, thumbs up if you agree

  • @heartrobot351 , Yes, I have. On video I've hunted Renegade lawn mowers, zombies, evil owls, deer, turkeys, pigs, rams, bowling pins, etc. :-) I'm too busy hunting the targets I have to go looking for more; besides, mine cooperate and stay where they are put, usually.

  • @hickok45 doont forgeet about the zombie saantaaa

  • Comment removed

  • I need to get me one of those rifles some day. Thanks for sharing.

  • They have about 30 of these bad boys at cabellas for 140$ ea... Good starter rifle?

  • @fourpointohh i own the carbine version, and yeah it's a good starter rifle. ammo's a little expensive, and it does kick pretty hard, but if you want to get in the hobby cheaply and learn on a rifle that you can then take out and hunt or shoot targets with or whatever, it's perfect. Also, the history aspect of these old guns is a big part (for me at least) of their appeal.

  • @strayjay Hey thanks a lot, yeah the WW2 thing they got going for them is pretty cool. I think Im going to pick one up when I get my paycheck... When i was looking at them a old guy came up to me and goes "hey thats a good rifle, put a (brandname) scope on that you can shoot a squirl up the ass at 200 yards" ahaha

  • @strayjay 7.62X54R is the cheapest full size rifle ammo you will find.

  • finally another mosin video =D

  • "its scary! I'm used to looking out for squirrels and possums and >>zombies!<<" LOL xD nice shooting btw.....

  • How hard is it to find the ammo for it? Just wondering because I was thinking of purchasing one for deer hunting.

  • @bobsegar30 Very easy, you can get surplus from Wolf ammo pretty cheap.

  • @Breakneckhydra1 Thanks!

  • i want ur babies hickok

  • I couldn't watch this video. All of that damned crunching made me crazy!

  • How many acres is your "compound"?

  • I knew I saw you in COD Bloack Ops!... Haha BigJohn knows what I'm talkin about

  • I own ine just the same as you fine rifle but you should try stripper clips for a faster reload ;)

  • You should make some kind of lottery for a trip to you for 1 person from around the world and make a video of that :D

  • thanks for the reply's i think you should look into the U.S.P. side arm its a relly great gun it fires well and is reliable maby you could even put it in a video it think you would like it a lot. I really like the zombie santa video nice headshot get back to me when you can.

  • I have two Mosin Nagant 's the M91 and the M38 which is hard to get. I was very lucky to find one at a gun shop and paid a good price for it. I just need the M 44 to complette to collection. The best ammo for the Mosin Nagant is " Olympic" which I only use for hunting and you can reload them.

  • I have two Mosin Nagant 's the M91 and the M38 which is hard to get. I was very lucky to find one at a gun shop and paid a good price for it.

  • Heck yeah nice training

  • You sure do know how to have alot of fun hickok lol, damn I need some land lmao.

  • you sould have shot nazi targets

  • Nice video, seems like a proper setting to be shooting one of those in, in the snow covered woods.

  • молодец Hickok , твои видео интереснее с каждым разом!

  • Like if you love your MOSIN NAGANT!!!

  • Liking the new tactical run and gun format.

    Needs more duracoat, though.

  • Hey hickok did your father enjoy firearms?
