  • Gorgeous movie, and one of the most honest productions I've seen.

Why that whitewashed Che film got accolades and this one faded is injustice, but some people remember.

  • I am Cuban American, & we are NOT por Batista

  • I got this on dvd... but it keeps freezing about a third of the way through... gutted...

  • A movie with heart and soul, better than ever hollywood production!

  • viva cuba

  • This movie is epic...so well done!

  • Viva il communismo, Viva la revolución, VIVA CHE GUEVARA!

  • I respect and appreciate a lot of things in Latin America, but I don't want to believe in any political statement there because you don't hear any voice from the moderate and the rational.

You are either yelling viva Castro or viva Batista. You are either a blind Communist or a blind pro-American Capitalist. You blame political problems on either American Imperialism or Communism. There must be more inside stories beyond it and I will love hear them. Good luck amigos.

  • @inferno0020 Yes exactly, but as a Mexican I have a different point of view, either way Cuba was in the middle of a war that it was not it's own, Cuba was not supposed to become communist, the original plans were to make Mexico communist.

  • @inferno0020 My family left cuba and oppose Castro but they are not pro-Batista. However they are proud Americans. There is nothing wrong with being proud of a country that had the generosity to let them in and escape the iron fist of castro. Cuban americans do not want Castro NOR Batista, they simply want one thing and that is FREEDOM.

  • @gunboie5443 My friend, if you are Cuban, you are American. I too come from a continent called America but not from a country which proclaimed itself to be the United States of America. You have already suffered from indoctrination. An European comes from any country in that continent called Europe, and so does an American. I am Nicaraguan, therefore I am American.

  • @madekekgra Of course when I mean American I mean U.S.A. not north america in general. I am aware of the comon misconception. I am not indoctrinated I am just an educated person who wants to speak the truth. Im afaid your the one who is in indoctrinated. I have Never met a fellow Cuban American (again I mean U.S.A) who is pro Batista. This is a great nation. I would like to see you tell that to any Cuban American here in Florida (again I mean U.S.A.)

  • I don't like this movie because it's consulting communism. Of course their grand father should give his land. the land is for all people. All people should be equal in all thing. That's the main purpose in communism. this movie wanted to show that Cheguevara is a cruel man who takes land for him self. But that's not true. He reward it to people who deserve it. Totally Communism means people should be equal. There is nothing wrong with it.

  • @super96303 What happened to lost values like hard work and merit?Communism sounds lovely on paper.I would love to live in such an equal society but in reality,in such a system you just become an slave to the state.Being a slave to the capitalist system atleast puts food in your mouth, fresh designer clothes on your back,a house to live in and freedom to express how much better communism is.Try that in a commuist state. So many miners die in china every year, still they don't have labour unions!hmm

  • This movie was great,no matter what anybody says.People who understand these things and look for depth in a movie would agree. It does not take sides and shows both batista's and castro's regime for what it really was.Everyone is entitled to their opinion and neither andy nor people who loved this movie such as myself would oppose negative opinions. We know what freedom is and airing your personal views is a cornerstone.Slow, classy, stylish movies have no place in today's ADD world of MTV jackass!

  • ..contd..on the streets(reuters)and the muslim brotherhood will organise better, being a political party and mostly egypt is going to end up as another islamic tin pot state. They have no place to escape though.Afghani refugees sometimes trek to Europe! It is not a boat ride/swin to the keys(as dangerous as that is).Their stories may go unheard.Hope they(egypt)get democracy

Coming back on topic the quartet from 1:41 was moving especially in the context it was played out in the movie. To a free Cuba

  • ..contd..a contemporary example to this situation would be today's Egyptian uprising.Mubarak is a US backed dictator who exploits his people for foreign interests. The revolution is justified, but who will replace him? The strongest opposition party is the muslim brotherhood and this would turn out like that Islamic revolution in Iran! For the true good of the egyptian people though ,an educated, moderate and democratic person like Mohamed ElBaradei has to come to power. His popularity is waning....

  • Just looking at Fidel as evil and before that it was all rosy is not the right way to look at the Cuban situation.Even in this movie the brutality and oppression during the regime of batista is shown. He was a fascist and castro a communist.Post batista, Cuba needed someone like fico's father,an ardent believer in democracy,an educated man.American expansionism is indirectly to blame, they are the ones that installed batista to control Cuba as they could'nt directly annex it like say puerto rico..

  • Great trailer though...

  • Fidel gained power by aiming a rifle at his fellow Cubans. He's a disgrace to the fatherland.

    Also...Fidel was never a communist...always a fidelista!

  • i just turned 15 but I love this movie it really shows what cuba was like in opposition of revolution

  • Excellent film, it shows the real history of Cuba. Andy my brother I can't be more proud of you. Thank you for making this movie happen.

ABAJO FIDEL Y QUE VIVA CUBA LIBRE!

  • too bad andy garcia sucks. Viva Fidel!

  • well dammit, i cant write this book anymore.....i wuz writin a book called "the lost city", but better i find out now i guess...

  • Hoot! Enrique!!!!!!

  • This movie was a masterpiece.

  • Che Guevara was a killer and a murderer. He killed hundreds of innocent Cubans that wanted freedom. He was a terrorist. Che Guevara and Fidel Castro destroyed Cuba. Cuba Libre!!!!! Free Cuba!!! abajo fidel!! abajo con el communismo!! abajo con el socialismo!!!!

  • @1984capitalism Totally agree!!!!

  • Hahaha the communists like to call Cubans that left "gusanos" and yet they treat us like kings when we go back as tourists. Hypocrites...

But like young Cubans like to say, we may have been "gusanos" when we left, but we were butterflies when we returned. Viva Cuba Libre!

  • @DukeAlba you are not a ''cubano'' any more. you are just american.

  • @Crisalsera I am Cuban and I will never be anything else... I was born in Havana, and even if I were born here in the United States I would be Cuban because both my parents are Cuban.

  • @DukeAlba cuban people speak spanish... Americans speak english... An origin is not the DNA,but also what you want to be...your lifestyle, character and mentality.

  • @Crisalsera Y que tiene que ver eso? Me conoces a mi?

  • @Crisalsera Cubans come in all shapes and sizes. Different lifestyles, characters, and mentalities. Not all Cubans have to speak Spanish. Just like not all Americans have to speak English, or just like not all Spaniards have to speak Spanish.

We do not all have to be the same to fit your definition of what it means to be Cuban. I refuse to be pigeonholed...

  • @Crisalsera I'M not a Cubano but an American.I speak English,German, and a little Italian. But when IM in Cuba and with MY Amigos and some Ron,IM Cuban. And no one that I know of loves Che.And MY wife is proud being called a Gusanos.

  • @BEJUCAL of course you are not cuban. This would be a shame for the country. In fact its called a gusano ,not a gusanos,,its singular, not plural.Just so you gt to know a bit of grammar.

Supporting someone doesnt mean you do it just because others do. Remember howmany supported Hittler althought he was a bastard.

All my cuban friends like Che althought thy dont like Castro.

Oh and by the way I dont think I really care how many languages you speak.

  • @Crisalsera Seguro q eres desgraciado mejicano comunista. El q tiene 4 casas y 4 carros se partió sus timbales trabajando y disfruta de su labor, pero como eres un come-pinga aragán, odias y resientes el mundo libre que aplastó tus ideas de mierda. Largate a tu pais bien grande y libre y busca a quien joder allí. Y si eres cubano, disculpame - entonces metete el dedo por el culo y sácatelo por la boca.

  • @4Barbudos You probably got your info off a .cu website. Check any economic statistical archive in Canada, Europe, even the Soviet Union - the same info: by '59 US holdings in Cuba totaled just under 5% of the total GNP, highest was 65% back in 1902. Illiteracy in '59 was at 15%, third lowest on the continent. In the cyber age, your Marxist disinformation is as obsolete as a bolshevik gatting gun.

  • gol67, I've a uncle that saw like el Che kill a farmer just for try a gun... He was a son of the bitch! I can understand why you admired him, you don't know NOTHING about who was the Che...

  • More people watched this trailer on YouTube than saw it in the theater.

  • and im talking about piece of shit gol67

  • It is your right and your priviledge to believe in comunism and express it but please note and check it out

socialism or comunism are incompatible with democracy.

Socialism is incompatible with progress, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and private enterprise.

True socialism attacks freedom of religion or any freedom of expression for that matter.

Please check these statements with your own sources and please know this.

  • Fuck you u little piece of shit communism go fuck urself che was a piece of shit argentian cunt that killed thousands of innocent people if u are cuban then wow holy shit che killed ur brothers and sister go die in a hole

  • @fencey25 ok calm down their skippy.

  • @fencey25 Che was Mexican

  • @Zeppelinfaktor

No. Che was Argentinian. He was also a murderer, a racist, a thief and a monster.

  • @Zeppelinfaktor wtf r u stupid?

  • I'm sorry for saying it like this, but

FUCK COMMUNISM AND FUCK ANYBODY WHO THINKS THIS BROKEN SYSTEM ACTUALLY WORKS FOR THE PEOPLE

FUCK YOU COMMUNISTS!!! GO TO MARS!! I'M SURE YOU'LL LOVE IT.

    :):):)

  • MY COUSIN IS IN THAT MOVIE!!!!

  • how gives a sh..t

  • @ahmad2294 1st- Who gives a shit? *

    2nd- I do ya stoop!

  • Thanks Great American, it an honor. I served during Desert Storm at Ft Bragg. I finally see that many Americans are waking up. Because the left is putting on their pressure it means we are making head wave. We can not stop now. I have seen this history before in Cuba where Castro fooled everyone until he executed everyone that could tell the truth. It was too late. They can not execute now but they can do worse.we have to be tactful and logical in our defense of freedom.

  • Keep believing the stupid.

  • Hate to use the language, but are you FUCKING kidding me? Che killed more people that most people ever care to know. He was no revolutionary, he was a fucking coward who killed innocent men, women and children! When he was captured in Bolivia, prior to being killed, the magazine of his gun was found full of bullets... what revolutionary doesn't take a shot in battle? Read some history and educate your self before making stupid comments! VIVA CUBA LIBRE!!!!

  • well kids r always...... kidded!!

mention an inncnt killed by che

    "che killed more people"?

do u even knw wat dat means?? u got sum degrees on history or what?? dint knw dat u had secured 100 p 4 all dos.....was a miracle how he managed 2 organise n spread communism aint it??

jus dont deliver ur retarded jus coz u wer fuckin fucked by sum...... kid!!!

fuck off !!! I aint from no country club!!!

    uff

cant blve y i spent dis much f my tim spekin 2 a moron who had nothin 2 do wit ma anythin......

  • He was a murderer, but even murderers have a soul. Castro had him killed by setting him up in South America, because he did not want any competition. I guess you didnt lose any loved ones during castro's revolution of death. If you had then you would not be so dramatic and obsessed with Che. Unbelievable!

  • you're so ignorant. How naive of you

  • tell me hws that

  • anes sestrei dice... ya podrían intentar pronunciar bien Inés Sastre

  • Miami Gusanos = Putas & Terroristas

  • Do You work? Do You Have a job? Do you go to school? Are you an ignorant chunt? chunty?campesino? indio boracho? Do you steal from the hard working rich people and give to the lazy communists socialists people? Que Viva Miami!!!!! abajo fidel!!!! communista de mierda!!!!!! Cuba LIbre!!!!!!

  • I loooovee this comment!

    thumbs up

    cuba libre

  • Comunistas = Hijos de putas

  • My god, the first hispanic mayor of miami- a puerto rican- once describe cubans to the effect of almost calling them stubborn. For the cubans in miami, its their way or nothing. Like selfish children, the word compromise does not exist in their vernacular. I dont believe in communism but i dont believe che is in the same league as hitler. Alot of people died during the revolution, but then again what revolution has avoided bloodshed. Cuban independence was messy. I love cubans but come on!!

  • No he wasn't a Hitler, more like a small scale Stalin. Actually, not small scale, just proportionate to Cuba's population. But corrupt, inept, and fear mongerers all the same.

  • Cuba Libre!!!!! Free Cuba!!!!!!!abajo fidel!!!!!abajo con el communismo!!!!!

  • Also, anyone foolish enough to think Cuba's education and medical system is "great" is being unbelievably naive. Do you honestly think a country as poor as Cuba can afford that? Cuban citizens do without medical care and pharmaceuticals, while their doctors are pimped out by the Cuban govt. The doctor's NGO provided salaries are seized by Castro. Cuban doctors working outside the country must leave their teenage children in Cuba as hostages to ensure their return. Quite a place, Cuba.

  • Cuba's great health system is mostly the result of a diet difference. Cuba doesn't have the obesity rates of the US, so that rules out all the obesity-related illnesses that come with it.

But if you have cancer, kidney failure, cataracts, glaucoma, or you need a transplant, then you're in trouble. That country is backward in terms of medical technology.

  • Speaking of Cuba's health system, is anyone foolish enough to believe they can afford modern pharmaceuticals? Sure, you can see a doctor, good luck getting any effective medicine afterwards. Cubans are often seen begging outside "visitors" pharmacies hoping to to get a tourist to go inside and purchase needed medicines.

  • what kind of drugs have you been doing?

My cousin is a Doctor in Cuba and you dont have an idea what you are talking about.

  • No Marxist Stalinist government has ever succeeded, nor will it. Socialist economics don't work. It is not possible to "get the prices right" outside of a market economy and the result is economic disaster, as in Russia, China before the reforms, and virtually every country that's tried it. If a country can't get the prices right they end up wasting resources and poverty results. Cuba is free to trade with China, Canada, Spain etc, etc., yet they still can't get an economy rolling.

  • VIVA FIDEL I LA REVOLUCION

  • Yall don't know how ignorant you people look talking shit about something u know so little about, blindly following the mass's of America, its media spokesmen, and their propaganda opinions. JUST LIKE THIS PROPAGANDA FILM! DO SOME DAM REAL RESEARCH! WITH UN-BIAS INFORMATION! An unsuccessful revolution is a revolution that did not succeed, OBVIOUSLY!

"None are more helplessly enslaved then those who falsely believe they are free" John Wolfgang Von Goethe

  • Only succesful revolution was American revolution. Rest of it brought only pain, hunger, poverty, oppression and murdering.

  • yeah and its so sad that even the American revolution was not a complete success. the system of central banking, the very thing that we tried to escape still made it in our country.

President Andrew Jackson delivered the last action for America and its Revolution when he got rid of the central banking in 1835 but in 1913 the international bankers were able to install the devil known as the FEDERAL RESERVE. Thanks to them the value of our money is always gonna decline because of "interest".

  • All of these so-called revolutions were really just a huge armed robbery. Castro scared away the middle class, which is why Cuba's economy suffered. Why would anyone want to stay and "make it work" when the new president has just taken their house away?

  • Cuba nowadays is worse than in Baptista's days...do you like caramels? well, the kids there don't have any...do you like going to coffeshops? well the Cubans can't go to the same the tourists go...is that quality of life? I DON'T FUCKING THINK SO...

  • For your information Hollywood didnt make this movie. In fact Hollywood opposed it. This movie was great it shows a good amount about what happened in Cuba when Castro fucked everything up. He stole property from hard working Cubans and claimed all profit for himself and his "comrades". He gave nothing but fear and poverty to the people of Cuba. Thats why many left. Thats why many still want to leave. Thats why many may never go back... VIVA CUBA LIBRE!!!!! ABAJO FIDEL!!!

  • @BigBossXtreme You have to understand Hollywood leftists are always supporting Castro. This is the main reason of why Castro still in power there. He is there for the many useful idiots that support him and make Castro look like the victim when he is

    a thug,a murderer.

  • @MRSCHUTZE1 Fidel Castro gave up his spot in Feb of 2008.. So by Castro your talking about his brother Raul.... right?

Because you would look pretty foolish presenting your point with incorrect information.

  • @seanedferguson I'm talking about FIDEL,he is the one ruling Cuba behind the screen, besides Hollywood has being fond of Fidel Castro, they do not know much about Raul.I would be stupid if I was ignorant of the fact that his brother took over on 2008,but Fidel is the one who is still governing Cuba,he has done before in 1961 when he named Urrutia and then Dorticos and at the end Fidel returned to power again but right underneath he was the one giving orders.

  • @MRSCHUTZE1 Ooooh so Castro is in power thanks to HOLLYWOOD, mmm i see now.. I did not know that!

  • @mike20007 Castro is in power in part for all the support brought to him by Hollywood communists such as Michael Moore,Steven Spielberg,Oliver Stone.

  • @mike20007 That makes alot of sense! So how was he in power before these people started making documentaries about him?

  • @BigBossXtreme Castro did not "steal" anything, as a matter of fact everything he did he did it with the help of the people. The properties that he "stole" were mostly from the RICH, CORRUPT CUBAN AND AMERICAN BUSINESS FAMILIES. People who never contributed anything to the rest of the Cuban citizens. because in case you didn't know the Cuban people at the time were discriminated, dirt poor, iliterate and without healthcare.

  • @mike20007 actually mike, that's not the full story. While Cuba was in fact dominated by corrupt business interests that catered to the rich and the Americans, the Cuban government went far beyond just confiscating the properties of the corrupt and wealthy. Small rural landowners (known as colonos) lost their lands too, small business (restaurants, coffee shops, bodegas, beauty salons, etc) were also confiscated.

  • @mike20007 Also, your description of Cubans as "discriminated, dirt poor, illiterate and without healthcare" fails to put things into a broader Latin American perspective. Yes there was discrimination, poverty, illiteracy and inadequate healthcare access, but in most of these areas Cuba was still doing better than most of Latin America and Cuba had one of the largest middle class in the region....

  • @BigBossXtreme Totally agree, and speaking of hollywood opposing it, you are so right, I can't even find it online, it's like somebody or something made god dammed sure nobody sees it online.

  • @BigBossXtreme That doesn't make it a good movie. It was still all over the place. The existential comedian was out of place and threw off the tone of the film. The plot meandered and the pacing choked at several points. It had no idea what kind of film it wanted to be so it opted to be a bit of everything and because of it, it has no focus, the love story is uninspired and the tragic felt trite.

  • What a crap Hollywood movie, I expected better in this day and age from Garcia. I suppose it tickled his ego, after all he featured himself so strongly through the movie. It wasn't factual, you Americans and especially Cuban Americans are so predictable. Anything Communist is to be treated like the scourge of mankind, maybe you should take a look at Capitalist regimes like yourself, with morons like Bush in power, corruption worse than Cuba. Cuba is a great place, I loved every minute of it.

  • why do you guys give thumbs down wen ppl express themselves. Some of you dont even know what you're talkin bout and i dont say shit cuz its ur opinion. Yeah, i'm cuban so what? writing stupid comments isnt gonna kil the s.o.b fidel and most of all ...it isnt gonna give cuba anything she had in the past

  • I think both Communism and American intervention are awful for Latin America. It is the time for Latin America to determine their own destiny.

  • Can someone tell me the name of the trumpet song that begins at 1:43? Also, things may have been bad under Batista, but it is nothing compared to what things are now under the Castros. A true Cuban is someone who loves freedom and capitalism, and anyone is not a true Cuban.

  • i disagree atrongly because a true cuban would be someone native to the land, being an indigenous person. during capitalism and batistas regime the people on top opressing others were cubns of european descent. im not saying a true cuban is for communism, but corrupt democracy has left a bad impression of capitalism on the people. politics vary in every individula, one can not generalize.

  • "during capitalism and batistas regime the people on top opressing others were cubns of european descent"

Batista was the only black president of Cuba. He was heavily supported by Afro Cubans. If anything, Castro's regime is racist. Ever wonder why 60% of Cuba's population is black, but all of the leaders are white?

  • Hi,

The trumpet song that begins at 1:43 is called:

    Beautiful Cuba by Chocolate Armenteros

    Good luck!

  • Maybe Marti didn't want cuba as it was when batista but the truth is that Cuba was then second best country in the world, and Fidel destroyed one of the most beautiful countries in the world, so maybe batista wasn't good, but it was a million times better than what Fidel did to all of us.

  • you know garcia's family escaped cuba after the revolution

  • A real Cuban? lol Do you live in Cuba?

Im a real Cuban bitch fuck.

  • You don't have to live there to be a "real" Cuban. But obviously what you are is a "real" communist pig!

  • Tsk tsk.... if that vocabulary is a reflection of post revolutionary education, I rest my case.

  • All of you who praise communism, the revolution in Cuba and all that: sorry to say it but you don't know what you're talking about. How can you be so blind? Think for yourself. Cuba is a prison, Guevara was one of the biggest criminals in American history... my dad is a Cuban, so I know how it was. The movie reflects the real Cuba, the rich and prosperous country it was before being destroyed by communism. By the way: didn't you know that a priest saved Castro from a death sentence? what a pity!

  • Viva la Revolucion!!!

Che was a hero and will always be.

  • you obviously haven't seen the movie! Stupid fuck.

    A real cuban.

  • Then what the fuck am I you idiot?

I'm not going to argue with you ..because Arguing over the computer is like running in the speacial olympics in the end your still retarted!

  • lmfao

  • i agree

    che,

  • Maybe a perspective of a low class cuban in the revolution can make a better movie, the movie is ok but it could be better, it has to show the real cuba, not the hollywood version of it...

  • There is no shortage of Hollywood films depicting horrible pre-revolutionary living conditions. The truth is that Cuba had a very large middle class and was NOT a Third World country. When Castro began nationalizing, instigating class envy, and eliminating civil rights, that middle class left. That vacuum, coupled with his numerous failed communist policies, earned Cuba its prominent place in the Third World. Fico's story speaks for the middle class in exile. Thank you Andy for the truth.

  • prior to the Revolution, 30% of Cubans lived on less than $2 a day. That's on par with many East African nations. It definately was a third world country. I'm not sure what it is now.

  • Show me where you got your numbers, don't compare apples with oranges. What was the minimum wage in the US in 1958? What was the minimum wage in Cuba in 1958? All the American companies investing in Cuba generated decent paying jobs. Why was the Cuban economy healthy? Why was the Peso/Dollar exchange equal. What are the living conditions in Cuba now? What can a Peso buy? Don't tell me about the embargo..Castro can buy anything he wants from anybody he wants EXCEPT the US of course.

  • Prior to the revolution fshjsh... cuba was one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and it was without a doubt the 2nd best country in the world, every invention started in cuba and went to america or otherwise, i.e. color tv, cream cheese, etc. The tourism was really high and it was sincerely a beautiful country, but now all of that is lost, all because of one man.

  • yo soy cubano y esa pelicula me encanto viva cuba libreeee

  • In all honesty I am pro- revolution because my family was disgustingly poor in Cuba before the Revolution. If anything it did more good than bad for the welfare of the Cuban poeple. American- Cubans arre always saying that Fidel is a dictator and an evil man. He may be but when I lived in Cuba I always had a roof over my head and food in my stomach. I had an amazing education and more. This was all because of the revolution!

  • Obviously it wasnt that good if you left!!!! Pro revolution???? Do you even know what the revolution was??? Do us all a favor and go back to Cuba you communist!!!!! You became a person the moment you stepped foot in this country.

  • one of the best movies ever made

  • I've heard some countries have banned this movie because it depicts a greater truth about Che and Castro than what they're propoganda. So Sad.

  • excellent film

  • this is an exellent movie

and i dont think it puts us cuban down

i love it caused it remeind me of picture i have from cuba althougth this movie was entirely film in the dominican republic, thougth i would have rather see my real country portrayed, is a beutiful setting and

it looks a lot like cuba

    cuba number one

  • i'm from italy and i didn't know what really happened in cuba!in italy for a lot of people che guevara is a hero!thanks andy for this film, simply my favourite film!

  • Yea, if Andy Garcia lived in Cuba he'd be equally poor with the 99% of the population who are not high ranking government officials. What have you personally done for the poor?

  • Its easy to say he did it for the money. I propose instead that it was a labor of love, based on his childhood recollections of the Cuban experience. He is being attacked by leftists, many of whom have never experienced communism first hand, and who must resort to character assassination to silence a different point of view. Lost City is an accurate portrayal of what happened there. A truth telling long overdue. This Habanera

salutes you Andy!! You are a true son of Marti. He would be proud.

  • lets be for real, i dont agree with communism, (and my grandfather also left cuba to settle in puerto rico). You think that jose marti would be proud with how cuba looked during tha batista regime. you think he would be proud that the mafia and american bussiness control much of cuba. Do you think he would be proud of the label " the whorehouse of the carribean"! I suggest you read about marti and what he felt about american annexation and influence in Latin america.

  • I think the movie's portrayal of the Batista regime is very accurate. Yes the mafia controlled the casinos and US business had a very strong investment in Cuba. The communist portrayal was also very accurate. However, contrary to the communist rendition of the story, Cuba had a very large middle class and a very healthy economy. People did not live in squalor and there was plenty of food to go around. Given a choice, I would pick pre-revolution life to post revolution life. (continued)

  • As to Marti, he was fighting against the tyranny of the Spaniards. He wanted to see a free Cuba and yes, he would be proud of the truth, which is what Andy did... tell the truth. Families WERE split apart and brother turned against brother. Unfortunately, Cuba has never been known for a pristine government. There has been no dearth of dictators in the past. Now all the injustices of the past exist with the added bonus of misery, squalor and hunger. Communism DID NOT help the people.

  • of course i agree communism doesnt help the people, it keeps the subjugated people in the dark ages while the rest of the world thrives.

  • great movie

  • one of my favorites sorry.

  • Oh yeah, Cuba was just so much nicer when it was owned by pimps, gangsters and racists!

  • Its a great movie shame some will never be able to understand it.

  • as a cuban i thought this was a really good movie!!!

if bill murray wasn't in it i think it would have been great

    FUCK CHE!!!

  • FUCK YOU!!! Viva la Revolucion!!!

  • I think my old Bill is the best thing that ever happend to this movie...i didnt like it...it was too poetic and less realistic, i'm still waiting for a movie that show the real revolution as cruel and awfull as it was

  • FuCk UUU

  • Andy, mi amour!! Muy bien, mucho elegante, Andy!!

  • estupendo.brilla la cubania y la realidad de la historia.como siempre... el mejor.
