Hey i wanna grow, i've noticed a lot of grow ops have 2 different colored cfl lights why are they different colors? does it matter or is it for the harvest season?

@RAIDERDDUDE420 no u should use 5000k or higher for vegging and 2700k and lower for flowering, mixing them is not reallly good the veg stage needs and only uses the blue spectrum and flowering the opposite uses the red spectrum veg under 5ks and flower under 2300-2700k, do a little test grow under a mix and grow using straight 5ks for vegging and 2700 for flowering dont mix them and u will see they react much better with not having a mix of the spectrum, for cfl and also hid's hps=red Mh=blue

Hey man, first, if ur gonna go cfl, add more bulbs, and make sure you are using something like the ottlite cfl plant bulb. Second move those bulbs way closer ! cfl, can actually do a decent enough job, if you use the right cfl, and have them quite close. The otlite cfl, is 20 watts, replaces 75 watts, and is barely warm to the touch even after hours and hours of being on. Most cfls only produces, high intensity lumens as it were, in the first 3 to 7 inches. Aka, if the plants are farther away

you do need more light... and with CFL's you can put them an inch from the plant...they love it... water every other day... but get a water bottle and spray them once in the morning and once at night be for the light turns out. That is how I also let mine take in their nuts... but yes looking good...

@jtp0221 also, foliage feeding can cause the plants to get used to that particular method of delivery, therefore it will have more growth up top to collect and absorb water, but wont have as hearty a root system. foliage feeding needs a plant that can continue to be fed in such a way. feeding a flowering plant like that can cause residues and salts to build up in the middle of the buds, which is horribly nasty.
