I am of German decent and my grandpa was captured in WW ll. He said the same stuff about the Jews you do, at the same time he said it was wrong that Hitler killed them but he was okay with just expelling & robbing Jews. No I am US born & bred and grew up in Wisconsin in a town mostly German, My grandfather immigrated here after the WW ll, sponsored by relatives who had emigrated much earlier to the US. He was cleared because he was not involved in any atrocities, he wasn't even in Hitler youth, and was shot down in 1940 before the bad stuff happened. So I was exposed to a lot of old world bigotry as well as to a lot of Americans who left Germany & Europe to get away from people like my grandfather.

well there's a factor that doesn't affect you, since you aren't English and that's the fact that anytime the English are in his films, they are the villains. Oldest cliche in the book! We may have been dicks sometimes, but Jason Issacs character in The Patriot was just downright over the top (albeit played brilliantly). Anyway, The Patriot made me vomit.
