remember this, I saw it in a movie theatere and during the half way point they had a intermission and the voltron force came out and talked to us and signed posters.
I believe it was some local actors in costume. But at the time it was a really fun and cool experience. I still have those autograph-es, doubt there worth any money but good memories. The tickets were free too, a local Ind tv station ( I think channel 56 out of Boston if i recall) You wrote in and they just gave you a ticket.
in my area as a kid this was on at night and past my bedtime so im like mommy mommy pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease my foster parents let me stay up and watch as long as i put my jammies on first that way they could put me to bed right after gosh i miss the 1980s thumbs up if u love 1980s cartoons
I know this might be confusing to follow but as I said earlier the two have nothing to do with another. They were Golion and Dairugger XV in Japan. Then someone decided to name them both Voltron and show both series in America. They made it so the two were connected and had to create backstories like I mentioned below to explain the crossover.
the two robots are redrawned by toei for the american audience and world events edited in bits from both shows to create fleet of doom.dairugger(vehicle voltron) and golion(lion voltron,go means five in japanese)are totally different in feel and content.but u know they should do the third voltron, albeggas.redo the animation and put some excellent voice work on it to reintroduce voltron to this generation.wouldn't that be awesome?
the difference between golion and voltron is the plot and definitely the scenes in both.there was alot of murder and multiation in go-lion.very violent. lotor is called prince sincline in go-lion and he's straight vicious and has an oedipus complex towards the princess.dairugger?i haven't seen it yet but i watched vehicle voltron and i gotta say it was just as good as the lion.in fact better storywise.i love the lion voltron for nostalgia but it's pretty weak comapred to vehicle voltron's plot
@darkprince26- Not to mention, actually in Golion, Haggar turns out to be Zarkon's mother (she must have been the mistress of the previous emperor) and Haggar despises Lotor's human blood. Lotor's maternity in Golion was revealed in episode 30 which who we see as "Allura" there in his dream, is actually his mother and that the dream of Allura in the American version is actually Lotor's mother.
I never watched Voltron because I was born after it aired. I know in japan that the Lion Voltron and Vehicle Voltron have no connecion. So this film was made for the english cartoon where both team up right? can someone try to explain it to me.
in japan the lion voltron was GOLION and the vehicle voltron was dairugger xv, they had nothing do to with each other.
both shows in japan were preety gruesome so
many violent scenes were removed for the american audience. in GOLION the character who pilots the blue lion actually dies instead of becoming a prisoner of lotor.
I was just a kid when this was new, and I only ever saw it once. Until now I wasn't sure if I was remembering correctly, or if it was a figment of my imagination.
Honestly... I'm shoced they did this back in the 80s as the two anime's Voltron and vehicle Voltron came from had nothing to do with each other. But still, as an old Voltron fan, this is pretty bad ass!
When I see two really cool things together I'll say, "It's like the two Voltrons meeting each other." I usually get weird looks but every once in a while I'll get a knowing nod from someone.
I definitely am nodding, Iaconpoint! Dude, I was a high school Senior when this came out and even though it was nerdy. Me and my friends all cut class and drove home just to watch this. That's how much the show meant to us. Now, most of us have kids in high school. lol.
LV lunges forward grasping VV at the neck with green lion while sliding behind him! The ground trembles as the twin titans struggle for supremacy. VV grabs the lion heads that are pressing his neck back and flips LV over his shoulders and into the air. LV crashes into cliff wall and drops the ground like a sack of potatoes. LV tries to shake it off as VV grabs his shoulder twin laser blades and throws them at LV splitting him into half!
@carnivalofsouls2047 You give VV too much credit. First off this would never happen since the two actually have nothing to do with each other. If you look for information on both, you will find out many interesting facts. Lion Voltron/Golion used to be self aware so he was more than just a robot. Vehicle Voltron was created from Lion Voltron by the Alliance and was an imperfect version. Vehicle Voltron only has 5 mins to operate once formed. LV could just wait 5 mins and attack. Game Over.
Ever thought it would be neat to combine the 3 Voltrons into one robot for a crossover? They kinda did this with the bizarre Omega Supreme combo that came out. But as a kid I found that you can use Black Lion with Daltanios legs and Dairugger arms to combine into one robot. Now I see those newer Asian X-Kaiser Voltron and that TF space shuttle Voltron crossover toys along with a Mazinger combo. Wonder why Voltrex never got on 1998's Voltron computer anime series. Why would lions turn into dinos?
OMG I remember this commercial, I lived in Richmond,Va and remember seeing this commercial more than i remember the actual movie lol

Lion Force Voltron VS. Vehicle Force Voltron:
BEGIN!
