  • Thank you so much for sharing this! :)

  • Ryan's plan would give billions more to the insurance companies via vouchers. And where does the money for those vouchers come from? You and me, that's who!

Can you say CORPORATE WELFARE??? This nigger (Ryan) should know better! F U Ryan and the rest of your corporate slave (GOP) buddies!

  • The healthcare reform is racist. It only applies to mostly Indians. It is a hidden reparations bill.

  • hilarious, the part about essential benefits was first introduced by republicans as an alternative to the clinton 1993 health reform plan

  • I find it very humorous that nobody uses the word tax - which essentially is what mandated insurance pools are.

It must be some American aversion to paying taxes.

  • Before 1980, our debt is less than 1 billion. We were fuked during 1980-1992 (4 trillions deficit) and fuked even more deeply 2000-2008 (another 5 trillions). All problems we facing now because gov't is broke. if govt has surplus and no debt, then it can use $ surplus to finance health care cost, to expand education scholarship for both young ppl and veterans, more tax cut for working poor and middle class; cheaper cost of borrowing for small biz to expand/set up.

  • 1 hour holy fuck

    musta took long to upload

  • Healthcare is not a right. The low hanging fruit is obvious and should have been corrected with a simplified bill.

I'm glad this was posted. The ridiculous crroks are exposed and so is the lack of presidential leadership.

  • why the fuck do these bastards get to have a 1 hour video

  • Louise Slaughter was the ONLY person through this whole thing that i understood Exactly what she was saying

  • Thanks for posting this video. The President succinctly describes the problem with the Republican premise. "We could save tax dollars by eliminating the FDA" LOL.

Thank God for Mr. Obama, the only politician in Washington who honestly fights for the average American.

  • Pass single payer now. It''s a human right. Not a freaking right for corporate CEO's to get EVEN richer.

  • Republicans are insane, its clear all they are doing is obstructing any progress, but people are dying every day in america, they should be trying to help solve this problem not stand in the way! Obama needs to move on without them, enough is enough!

  • Cantor is so cute, in a non-manly way. Pretty. I wonder what his skin care regime is.

I got dropped from my employer's ins plan last month. I was 3/4 of a hr short on my avg week to qualify. (nice huh? And I'm by far not the only one) Crap. Can anyone recommend a good private policy??

  • from 13:00 on, Obama just rapes everyone. Finally someone calls out the repub's bullshit.

  • Comment removed

  • God Eric Cantor looks like such a dumbshit while Obama totally shreds him! Man these Repubs just dont give a rats ass about you if you're not rich, and they lie to the poor to get the support they need to keep screwing them. Maybe when people see their lower taxes this year they'll realize Obama is not completely full of BS, only partially.

  • Was the president just complaining about the use of props??? Are u kidding me???? LOL!

  • Memamma, I agree with you in that I don't think he has a clue what's actually in the bill; that's y he had such a hard time explaining it. People have already forgotten that he tried to slam this bill thru as well; he didn't count on so much opposition from US; then when he had no choice but to try to explain what was in the bill he could not. It was very bizarre to listen to him talking about the red pill and blue pill instead of just giving US details.

  • ericjay = he spent over 2+ hours pontificating pure poopoo nonesense. And the other DIMS? Added on their "city" lies! And they seemed to be SHY ON FACTS ...and long on "quoting letters"? No one even was allowed to challenge some of those idiot "letters" as anyone who is ill? Can go to an ER and receive treatment; regardless of insurance or ability to pay. And also go on Medicare or Medicaid. (the system Obama plans on robbing to pay for his Evil Ego Crap Care) ...Republicans tried to talk FACTS

  • @ericjaynelson = come back tomorrow. And ALL OUR POSTS?....will be removed by the drones inside the collective hive~~zzz of the crackpot king bee of Obuzzma! (NONE of mine from last week or the week before that remain and only the ones "dear leaders" handlers approve of now are left!) ....its a coven and cult hive now~~~zzzzzzzz! and they hate to have any RAID=(TRUTH) ~~ sprayed onto em! It makes them ~~zzz swarm out and "remove those posts" ~~~ZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!

  • I've heard that about You Tube b4. That's ok with me. Any time they have to restrict free speech tells me they r on the defensive and one thing about the truth IT CAN NEVER BE STOPPED! I've already done my job as a private citizen on this site lol! I've already got my share of converts just from this one video. But removing peoples comments is still cowardly!

  • @ericjaynelson = unless someone is ~cussin and swearin? The "post" should be left. Otherwise ; if you as President ? Cannot stand the "post a text comment" from YouTubers? GO HIDE! ....like Obama has been doing since way last summer. That was the last time he faced any public and allowed it on tape. Even though it was a SCAM with his "planted money peep donation queen" = Kathleen Manning Hall (Google that name) and the worst thing of all? MSLSD edited "OUT" The Halls from their next days video!

  • Sebelius wanted to force US to get vaccinations & she arrogant felt like she needed needed to show US how to cough and/or sneeze properly. I don't want to hear anything she has to say.

  • The Repubicans will go down in history as the Drama Queens of Politics. They bring in the books (ala Ronald Reagan) thinking it is a god damn Show and Tell skit and that the American people are going to fall for this bullshit.

The Republicans are the most destructive force in the entire nation and they have proven that in the 12 years that they controled most of the government.

They have more potential to destroy the United States of America than millions of terrorist.

  • SCREW THE REPUBLICANS AND SCREW THE INSURANCE COMPANIES.

Why is it that the Insurance companies will not allow small business to become group organzations, pool their resources and bring down the cost of the policies?

Insurance companies have been raping the American public for decades...IT IS OVER.

The god damn Republicans would rather have you die unless it is one of their own family. Republicans DO NOT SPEAK for what the American people want you FUCKING ASSHOLES.

  • No, this is not socialism. The government isn't going to be paying for it directly, we are. But you know what is socialist?: The bailouts since 2008, and the health care federal officials get. We've paid for all that. As the saying goes:

Socialism for the rich, and democracy for the poor.

  • Damn it's nice to see someone else make this point. I was flabbergasted when I heard all of this Obama's a socialist B.S. You're right on about the bail-outs.

  • It's not really the regulation, it's telling the consumer exactly what product he or she should buy.

  • No... This is actually more like telling automakers:

Make sure the car has working windshield wipers, brakes, seat belts and airbags, adequate lighting for night time driving, and a minimum safety rating.

If the consumers want the "chrome hubcaps, a sun roof, MP3 player, ventilated seats, etc.", then they can pay for it.

  • Well if the car didn't have those basics few would buy it. Automakers would quit selling them. Just like no one would buy health insurance if it covered no illnesses. People are capable of reading contracts, they know what their getting. People should be able to buy insurance solely for the things insurance is meant for: catastrophic events.

  • @armenchick17

Generally, I agree with you. But...

    1. The reason cars today have "those basics" in the first place is because of regulation. Otherwise there would be plenty more cars on the road that do not have a number of what we consider "basics" today. Case in point, it's because of these regulations that Toyota has to respond to Congress for their negligence, and why Ford has had to answer for the Pinto and the Explorer tires debacle. This is the kind of regulation needed in health care.

  • 2. The problem with so many contracts is that most people CANT read them. The contracts are often intentionally written in an ambiguous language that always benefits the companies. You think youre getting one thing, but some clause in the contract can allow the company to easily wiggle off the hook. Thats how people who think theyre covered can suddenly be dropped without any benefit of the insurance they paid for.

  • 3. I AGREE, people should have insurance for catastrophic events. However, what constitutes a catastrophic event? There is no set definition. Injuries suffered in a car accident, when youre not at fault? What if youre technically at fault? Cervical cancer, leukemia, pneumonia? Is losing a finger a catastrophic event? You can still live a pretty normal life, so why should insurance pay for a reattachment of the 2nd distal phalange of the left hand caused by your negligence? See point 1.

  • 4. Should only people who suffer catastrophic events seek health insurance? Well, lets say your answer is Yes!.

In that case, its simply not a profitable business model from the insurance companys perspective. You will only lose money on sick people, unless you jack up premiums to cover the loses. This is what happened in CA. I, for one, still hate the idea of mandated health insurance. BUT, truth is, it probably is the most feasible way of keeping costs down.

  • When you buy a car it must, for the protection of the consumer have: chrome hubcaps, a sun roof, MP3 player, ventilated seats, etc. Anything less would be an insult for someone trying to get from one place to another. Don't worry about this too much, it really won't cost you extra money because the car will come from your employer unless you're self-employed, then you're screwed. We will then wonder a few years later why there are uninsured and costs have sky-rocketed. DAMNED CAPITALISM!!!

  • Obama is a class act. Very proud of having him as our president. He is working very hard to fix the country's issues. From the way he speaks, you can really hear how much he has thought about these topics. Learning a lot from the guy.

  • You know what, I absolutely believe that 10, or 20 years from now, we will look back and realize that President Obama was the greatest President this country ever had!! He is trying to fix the problems with this country, but there are so many politicians who wont let Him!!

  • @groundhog2008 President Obama has shown to the world and this country once and for all that Democrats - Liberals - Progressives are good at bitching and moaning but Democrats - Liberals - Progressives can not Govern. Only a compleate moron would try to prosecute CIA operatives who are trying to protect the United States of America.

  • If I were white house I'd hire you @groundhog2008

  • The Democrats want to work with repubicans, but repubicans dont want to work with Democrats. I believe that healthcare reform is important enough to Americans, Democrats should do it alone, piece by piece!!

  • I am a republican. After seeing this debate, I see that the Republican leadership is not trying to help the American people be insured. As a republican, I am going to vote for Obama in the next election and a democrate in the next congress elections.

I am ashamed with the republican leadership that puts insrance companies before the American people. Shame on them.

  • @Armnm You and alot of other Americans are sick and tired of the repubican party. Lets face it, repubs are for the rich, and the Democrats are for the poor and middle class. Every single person I talk to, say, they are going to vote only for Democrats, because that party is the only ones working for their issues!! Repubs are for the insurance companies, Democrats are for Main Street!!

  • Thank you for your honest post. And your willingness to actually take the time to inform yourself with the real arguments, as they are presented from the source. I think this nation would be much better off if people would actually do their homework, as you have; instead of sticking to the talking-points of one party or another. Thanks, again.

  • Cantor...why does that whiny little bitch make think of Brainy Smurf?

  • "money first, people second"

Damn straight. Let's put a label on all the senators stating which Health Insurance Companies are paying them to scare the American people out of the healthcare they deserve

  • @Cutchswife A wise American is a person who will vote out repubicans, and vote straight Democrat!! Repubs only want to use scare tactics. Think about it, with Obama's healthcare reform, over time, costs will go down, and will put billions of dollars back into the country!!!! Democrats all know, but arent explaining properly, healthcare reform, with insurance for all, will help bring prosperity back to America!!

  • @groundhog2008 Oh Please! Gotta admit, Im bit nervous to post any comment on this channel. I imagine it could lead to the closing of my youtube account if I leave a true comment that rebukes Mr. President. I reason that must be why there are only pro-white house comments on here.... I like how he refers to them by first name, not by, senator _, while the say Mr. President. That is classy.

  • On parts 1 and 2 of this series the majority of the comments were anti-Obama, pro-Repub.

  • A wise American is one who will inform his/herself with the knowledge and arguments from both sides (more if possible). Weigh the pros and cons, and do what's best for the nation as a whole. Even if it leads down a difficult and unselfish road.

Being a wise American has nothing to do with Dem vs. Rep. Both party ideologies have strengths and flaws. Please, stop the bigoted mumbo-jumbo.

  • Polls show that the vast majority of Americans were in favor of healthcare reform, when it had a public option in the bill!! The whole thing went sour when they started dropping the public option!! We can all help Obama, if, in future elections Americans will vote straight Democrat ticket!! Democrats philosophy is what is best for poor and middle class Americans!!

  • here's an idea: stop monsanto from GMO-izing our lives. let's make healthy bodies that won't depend on a crappy health care HMO setup by nixon.

  • lmao@ mccain

  • The more I see of the leaders of the Republican Party the more moronic they become.

I left the Republican Party back in 2000 and so far it was the best decision I ever made. These idiots almost destroyed the country.

WHAT PART OF GETTING FUCKED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANIES DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND.

They want to do for healthcare what they did for the banking and financial services business. No regulations, give the States the right to control it and drive us into the god damn ground.

  • What part of being screwed by all government taxes do you not understand?

Bush warned of what was happening with banking several years ago. He warned social security was going broke. Mo one listened.

You need to talk to Barney Frank and Chris Dodd my friend about the banks!

Clinton started the whole mess with people getting home loans who couldn't afford it and didn't have 20 percent down.

There's blame on both sides but if you think all this is Republicans fault, you are sadly mistaken.

  • @BoomerNavy70 Even with Democrats in office, the repubicans are still almost destroying this country!! Part of the reason health insurance is going up, is because more and more people are losing their insurance because of cost. So, insurance companies raise their rates to recoup the losses. Yes, I repeated myself. When it comes to the poor and middle class, the repubs are the party of "NO"!! When I had insurance, I was denied coverage because I had a pre-existing condition!!

  • I am not sure if I can empathize for this situation because of the fact that i live in silicon valley and if you don't work for a big company here, then you don't work anywhere. So if someone can tell me how this would affect me it would be great. I'd just like to also ask how much will this bill affect us? I have an uncle in Austria who had a stroke and being european, he was VERY well taken care of by the govt to say the least. But what i found interesting was that no matter how hard cont...

  • my cousins uncles and aunts worked in Germany, Switzerland, Austria etc etc... they were all equal. They had money for food easily, money to buy clothes monthly, buy cars every now and then but no one had much more than anyone else. My uncle works two jobs in Austria for sony manages his own business but he still lives in a studio apartment almost just as very other single person. I went to Vietnam which is no doubt a communist country, but i saw more gains to be had in vietnam than Austria.

  • Move there then.

  • Your uncle was not cared for by the govt but by govt regulated non profit health insurance that he paid for. There are many different systems in Europe, some work better than others, they all have advantages and disadvantages, but they all share one thing: a mandate for everyone to buy insurance. Obama is right, without the mandate costs will just go up, and without basic requirements people will not get the insurance they need.

  • I can certainly see your point, and the truth is that in the near future this bill will really affect your life; unless you make more than $200k/year, then you will eventually pay a little more in taxes. Then again, this bill is not directly intended for people as fortunate as you and me. It's for all those who are working up to 2+ (usually low-paying) jobs to support their family, but because of low income or pre-existing conditions cannot afford insurance, or the high expenses of medical

  • care. Its to help make sure that insurance companies actually provide the help they promised; instead of finding a way to dump you the moment a long-term illness befalls you. Its so that people in this country with a pre-existing condition (like a stroke or cancer) can continue to find affordable health care for the rest of their lives, without being buried under a pile of debt. And, if it means that I have to pay a little more now to protect myself and my family in the future, so be it.

  • Thank you for your insight. The health reform has been confusing me quite a bit and I really didn't know how it was supposed to affect me. Greatly appreciated

  • Shit I see McCain. Who is he there to represent? We know it is not the Republicans of Arizona.

  • WTF???? Zero comments!!!!!!! Ugh!

Ok. I'm sorry. I'll start it off. Pre-existing conditions seems to be something that everyone can gather around and hate. But the only way insurance companies will incorporate that is if more people were on insurance. So I think the first step is lowering costs and axing the PC clause at the same time. In the long run, the insurance companies would break even, possibly even gain ground, in that respect.
